It'd been a long hard day for everyone, it was clear the masses were adjusting still from the most recent war. People had lost their loved ones, friends and family. Although it was a time to mourn, things had to be quick in rebuilding. Adjusting, learning, starting anew. After the loss of Zoom, Chromatik struggled the most with his death. It wasn't supposed to happen like that, she was supposed to die with him. That was always the plan.

Clutching the piece of paper that she held, her eyes scanned over it once more. It was a letter from Ralph requesting her presence, no doubt to discuss the future, maybe where her place in Los Angeles even stands. Afterall, she was Zoom's closest friend and most trusted person, that had to count for something, right? 

Her other hand scanned Zoom's desk, her fingertips lining the material as her eyes glanced all around his office. Swallowing, her teeth gritted together as she took a moment to herself to take in the office, for it might be the last time she even took another breath let alone see this space again. She knew far too much. Being sharply interrupted by a security office who had opened the door, her head snapped to the door. "Excuse me Miss Chromatik, are you ready?" he asked, nodding his head towards the door. He was the one driving her to meet Ralph as requested, she knew he was in a hurry to get there. "Give me a moment." she said, her voice a little raised but her eyes instantly returned back to the desk. Paper still scattered everywhere, paperwork they never got to finish together. and she quickly realised they'd never bicker over another piece of paperwork again. Closing her eyes instantly to hold back tears, she placed the note from Ralph on the desk before rushing over to the door, not letting her gaze move anywhere but the door. 

Opening it, she headed outside and shortly after, out of the headquarters. Heading inside the car now, she sat in the back completely silent. Normally she'd be chatting away to the driver, telling him what to do, ranting about something. Nothing came out of her. Her brown hues watched as the car rolled out of the car park and headed to Los Angeles Shipping Consolidated.

Arriving at the destination 10 minutes or so later, she took a deep sigh. She just felt nothing. First her husband, then the person she trusted most in this world. Shaking her head to rid herself of the thoughts, she took a step outside of the car, her heels pressing against the gravel. Fixing her dress to cling to her thighs, she began to walk alone to the headquarters. No bodyguards were requested for this. Ralph's bodyguards opened the door for her and she quickly headed inside. 

She already knew where he worked away, so she headed through to find that exact room. Finally finding it, she knocked on the door to which a guard opened it for her and when Ralph had given the okay, she stepped inside his office. This was the first time seeing him since Zoom's passing and it was already beginning to be difficult as soon as she seen his features. Swallowing her sorrow, the corners of her lips lifted slightly as she headed towards him. "You requested to see me?" she asked, tilting her head slightly as she stood on the other side of his desk. She could just tell he was sad too but like her he had to stay professional. 

"Yes. Zoom felt that you have great potential and in his will, he spoke of his wish that you be given an opportunity to take the next step.  This confirms my suspicion that he was grooming you for a position, and it now falls to me to grant his final wish." he began to say, taking a pause as he walked around his desk to stand the same side of her. Hearing even his name was difficult. Swallowing again, she nodded and began to listen further. "Should you accept, I would see you placed as a captain, working alongside myself, the leaders of the other districts and the other captains of Los Angeles to make LA a true city of angels." he continued. 

Her eyes widened ever so slightly though she remained professional. She couldn't help but feel honoured that Zoom had thought about her even in case he wasn't dying with her. Pressing her lips together, no doubt she wasn't as ecstatic as other captains would be. It was still incredibly difficult to accept, almost as if she was taking over for him a little. Who better to carry on his legacy than her? Hesitant still, there was a clear silence. Nodding, she gave him a genuine smile. "I hate how this happened. I don't like that losing him got me this opportunity but at the same time I want to honour him by continuing on. Helping great great people make the city even more amazing." she explained, extending her hand out to Ralph. "I am honoured and I will gladly accept. We all have the mutual interest in making this city exactly what he wanted it to be. And I know he'd be so incredibly happy to see me take up this position. Thank you for thinking of me, for honouring him and for giving me the chance." she said, though pausing once more. "I would like to request one thing, though. That my headquarters be the same as Pocket Meats Inc's building. I think it's the perfect place for mine." 

Dwight had been holed up in a dive bar after following the orders of Godfather Chairman Zoom during the war and hadn't heard the unfortunate news of what fate had in store for Los Angeles until some time after the fact. Once he heard what happened to Zoom and the others he slumped onto his stool before ordering another bourbon, quickly downing it as soon as he got his hands on it. He sighed heavily wanting to stay in the bar and drown his sorrows for a while longer but knew that Chromatik would be devastated following the untimely deaths of Family, Her Husband and even the Friend she adored so much. He rubbed his eyes a bit taking a deep breath as he gathered himself.

He arrived Downtown later than he'd expected where he came across a few familiar faces guarding the Pocket's Meat Inc. building. He gave them a somber greeting before making his way inside. He found Chromatik standing in Zoom's office. He took a moment before walking up beside her then he met her gaze. She was a strong woman and didn't let people see her pain often but he could see it on her face clear as day. After a moment Dwight turned and gave her a tight hug as he quietly said "I'm so sorry for your loss...".

After a moment Chromatik turned her eyes to his and said "I'd like you to come work with me Dwight.". She walked behind Zoom's desk then with a half-hearted smile she hit him with the news. "I met with Ralph earlier today and it would seem even now Zoom is looking out for me. He left a request that I get the opportunity to run my own family. I'm honoured to get this chance of course but this isn't how I wanted it..." She paused looking down at the desk before she continued. "The only request I had for Ralph was that I be given this same headquarters."

Dwight was a bit surprised but he knew that she'd more than earned the right to head her own crew it was just unfortunate that these were the circumstances. He cleared his throat before speaking "I know this isn't how you wanted get this chance but I know you'll do a damn fine job and help pick this city back up after the heartbreak its seen. It's bittersweet but I'm positive that you'll make everyone proud and honor our fallen comrades with the amazing work you'll do here. Of course you know I'll always be here to help you with anything and I'll always have your back. One question though, did you have for a name for thought of yet?" 

Chromatik nodded a bit then quietly replied. "Disposition.".
