Just wondering what people on this game think about it and there creator being arrested

I only take a passing interest in Wikileaks. Most of the information on there is rather pointless knowing, stuff about the military killing civilians in war zone's, well shit what do ya expect to happen when you invade a country.

I reckon any country is entitled to its secrets, Hell you can get in trouble for blabbing secrets about a crew in this game. So if your gonna reveal government secrets you gotta be prepared to face the consequences.

Has he been charged anyway?

Funny how the world focuses on Assange's persecution as opposed to the numerous awful things he's exposed. My newspaper this morning had Assange's lawyers delivering a press release as the headline and Shell's alleged infiltration of the Nigerian government as a side column. Are you kidding me? It's absurd.

I think that I should be rich and famous.

If the information released puts peoples lives at risk the I agree with Cav. He should be hanged.

Yea I wouldnt say hang him. I mean its not like he is going to another country spoling our government secrets. He is telling the people what should be known for whats going on.

Hang him! A good ole public execution is what we need to bring back the morality of yesteryear.

You do all realise his arrest has nothing to do with the wikileaks side of things, though?? It was Sweden that put out a warrant for his arrest.

That's just a cover story... honestly, get him deported on Sex assault charges and send him to jail, extra large sentence takes care of Wikileaks :p

I believe the information released hurts nearly everyone listed. The Saudi king wanting us to invade Iran. And the stuff said about Russia, hurts ties for everyone, although we probably could care less about Iran at the moment. "Hung" "Hanged" its all the same. I agree with Benton and half the rest of the web about the sex charges lol

Yeah, the charges against him are silly, a global Interpol witchhunt for a man charged with dodgy sex offences is totally believable. 

I don't understand why he should be hanged either. Politicians are obviously upset since they're finally being shown in the shameful light they deserve to be, but the public has only reacted this way because it's showing their country's governments for their true colours - secrets are one thing but with some of the documents that have been revealed, we've been fed blatant lies. For a country like the United States, so patriotically imposed on freedom, how has the concept of truth been aligned with treason? No lives have been put at risk; this hasn't started wars or assassinations and the government hasn't offed any exposed wrongdoers. The only thing this has hurt is the reputations of everyone whose idiocy and wrongdoing has finally been exposed.

Good point cooper. We should also keep in mind that WikiLeaks investigates. verify and filters every cables they get. With a total of 520k+ cables they have right now, they only released a little under 1500. Even after every bit of precautions taken to ensure it doesn't, some lives may be at risks. Although, we should keep in mind that these people are at risk because they are outlaws, acting against the rights and against the voices behind republics for well-oiled empires.

I met someone who works for wikileaks

I believe the guy should be given some sort of reward. He did exactly what each and every one of us has the right to do. The government is supposed to be run by the " people" yet we don't know shit about what's really going on. Maybe this will finally be a wake up call to the politicians to quit being backstabbing , paranoid liars.

Notice how he got arrested in France fior sex crimes but not for his site. I think only countires with something to hide should be scared like Canada and USA.

Besides I think without even knowing it the usa is tracking the IP to find what computer they are using and sending it viruses.

I think some things are best left unsaid. i mean, if it did put the public's lives at risk then this man should be persecuted.
