I want to personally thank all of you who came out here today and involved yourselfves in my speech, at least those of you with something to say.

To clarify, I am not advocating war, I'm not advocating wholesale slaughter, however I do see it on the horizon if things continue as is. I merely hoped to stir up some conversation on how it could be resolved whilst maintaining the peace that we currently enjoy. However, I am quite eager to hear any other feedback or suggestions that people might have though.

My last words on this matter is how can you possibly say one thing in one place not 24 hours ago and then say the exact opposite in another place regaurding the same topic. thats all i have to say on the matter.

I don't see it leading to war in particular. I understand that some people feel the number of crews verses the number of people in each crew is out of wack but there are plenty of people who feel that having alot of crew leaders helps create diversity and gives people a better chance to find a home they will be happy with cutting down on the number of discontented mobsters that will go rogue. The key is for people to respect the position of crew leader no matter how many are in the crew. Gone are the days where you can expect crews to get into the 40s in members. From what I've seen people have adjusted to well to this idea and the respect for the position has remained whether the crew leader has 48 members or 12.

Willie, you are definitely overreacting to this conversation. You are trying to read way to deep into what was essentially a call for people to recruit members from outside the normal pool of potential members. I think it has brought up a valid issue that deserves to be addressed. I don't think anyone will rush to war over that.

Boxcar, you seem to have taken delight in twisting my words and dragging out of context comments into this conversation.

As I said in the other thread, wonderful idea. Wars would be more common and we may even see a few aggressive take overs from within, when a consigliere gets fed up with no chance of his own crew. Might even see useless/feckless cls taken out in short order the way it used to be.

Did I say those words? I sure did. Did I say them on the streets? No sir I did not. I said them in Church, Church where you go to offer up praise to the Gods and ask for them to make things better or change how things work. I overheard Brother Brick Praying to the Gods, asking them to put a cap on the number of crews that are permissable based on the number of mafioso walking the streets, exactly the same as how Drug Front properties are run. I happened to agree with the man and voiced my opinion.

Did I say that I wish we had more wars? I did not. Did I say that the way to solve the issue was to start wars? I did not. What I did do was offer a man counsel as he prayed for the solution. I then retired to my bed for the evening. When I awoke this morning I had an idea on how to resolve the issue without the intervention of the Gods, so I came to the street with that Idea.

It is entirely possible for me to think one thing, and my character to think another. Do you think Alabama is a cross dresser/Transexual in real life? As for keeping it in IRC, I'm sure there are a few dozen players here who can advise you on how dangerous it is to run your mouth on IRC. Saying it on IRC and not on the game is no guarentee of your safety.)

Couldn't agree more with Godfather Stubing.  I didn't hear the words from Quoth that Willie has...quoted...which, if he indeed spoke them, were, admittedly, more controversial, but I don't find this speech to be in that vein at all.

However, I'd have to agree with the majority in saying that a multitude of crews is not necessarily a bad thing.  Auths are necessarily made with the thought that their new HQs will instantly be filled up.  And, frankly, auths aren't always made with the intention of attaining new members at all.  With highly competitive recruiting practices, and our recent growth and prosperity as a whole, across the country, one simply can't expect to find the numbers that one once might have.

I do, however, applaud your efforts, Don Quoth, of external recruitment.  Of that, I am always a fan.

Having this many crews leads to diversity and less people going rogue?  Bahahahahahahahaha!  That's hysterical.  I certainly hope that's true, but doubt that is really the case.    People go rogue for any number of reasons.  Sure, one of those reasons may be the fact that they are discontent in that crew.  A reason that will surely replace that one is that people become discontent because everybody and their mother is becoming a crewleader, except them.  Of course, that's just my opinion.  Though I'm old and smart so my opinion means more.  ;)

Having this many crews leads to two things:

- a lack of the protection that you get when you're in a large crew, and

- member whoring.

I think i may have read a little too deep into you speech QTR. I drew some incorrect conclusions it seems...it takes a wise man to know when he's wrong and an even wiser one to apologize. So from the bottom of my heart i want to offer up an apology to you QTR for making assumptions and acting rather hastily on them. I want you to know that no ones told me to apologize that this is on my on accord, and that i truelly feel bad for jumping to conclusions. the next time i get an OC i would love to break bread with you and co op one with you.

Apology accepted Boxcar, we all make mistakes, even me, and you are right, it takes a wise man to follow his own counsel and admit when he's wrong. I look forward to continuing to work with you in the future.
