She seemed to think a bit, having never really thought about the question before. She didn't want to be one of those people who just faded away and was never remembered, but what did she want to be remembered for? What kind of goals did she want to set for herself?

"I've honestly never thought about that, as silly as it seems, I've only thought about things that are trivial to some people. Moving out of a motel is the main goal for now. I haven't really figured out anything besides that. Well, College if I could ever scrape together the money..." She paused for a moment as she thought about a few things. "Someone once told me knowledge was power, so I kind of dug into learning as much as I could... there's a lot out there to learn, so why not try and learn what I can..."

She glanced towards the man in front of her again. "I probably should ask the name of the man asking me questions... seeing as you know mine...What can I call you, Sir?"

Gavin smirked. Time to found out how well informed this young woman was when it came to the underworld.

"Byrne. Gavin Byrne. And if you're looking for a more stable living situation or an education, that's perhaps something my organization could assist you with."

Hearing the man's name, Amaryllis' eyes shot towards him, her posture sat up a little straighter as she stared at the man that was in front of her. This was a man that was apart of the family that her father had written in his letter that was left for her. She wondered if this man might have known her father, though she wasn't holding high hopes.

"This might be a long shot... did you happen to have known a man by the name of Jason?" She wasn't holding out any hope... but it made her wonder why he had put this family's name as one for her to go find.

She waited a few moments before speaking again. "If that is something your organization could assist... what would it cost me...? Seems like being a waitress for your new restaurant in exchange for assistance with such things doesn't sound like a fair trade unless I'm wrong.." She knew she would owe this family quite a lot if she did get assistance with such things... and she'd be eternally grateful as well and probably would do whatever was asked of her... of course she didn't think she had many skills, but she was the kind of person who enjoyed learning new things, not quite knowing just what that could lead too.

Gavin nodded.

"A couple Jasons, actually. Do you have a connection with one of them?"

"As for the cost... well, you'd have to earn your way to any of those things we discussed. And I may ask you for a favor every now and then, assisting with a job. You can always refuse, of course. But distraction, information gathering, theft... or more. It depends what you're comfortable with, I suppose."

Hearing his response she thought for a moment. "I'm not sure if it's one you know... if there was a man by the last name Sarantou... he was a bodyguard for a woman...  he was my father." She grew quiet for a few moments as she took in the last of his words, she'd never really committed any kind of crime or anything.. it would be a lot of learning to do really should she get asked to do anything like theft... if she could find herself doing such a thing. She took some time before answering him again about the cost of the assistance. When she did speak again, she kept her voice low, so no one would be able to overhear.

"I wasn't really introduced to a different side of the world... I was mostly stuck in a house being homeschooled... the only reason I had known something of the darker side of Detroit... is because I snuck out at nights when the nanny was sleeping... People talk on streets or in Bars where they think no one is listening... I don't really have any skills... but if I have to complete a task in exchange for the assistance in housing and possibly college... I'll learn."

"One thing at a time, Ama. Thank you for your assistance today."

Gavin grinned as he stood, then bowed his head respectfully.

"You think things over; I'll be in touch once I have a place lined up for you."

With a nod, Gavin finished the glass of water on the table and headed for the exit.
