During the course of the next few weeks, Luna and Leora had engaged in a variety of activities at the Imperial Nest. Ever since that bathroom and soap incident, Luna felt happier, younger and more carefree. Her worries about her missed appointment with her client even faded away. She woke up one day, stretched her arms and yawned. Luna felt financially secure, but she wanted something more. Maybe a side job at the strip club. Was she even fit for that kind of stuff though? Well she was going to find out. Getting up to get changed, she cracked her back and let out a sigh out of satisfaction. She wanted to go out to the massage parlour later. Leora would enjoy that too wouldn't she? First thing's first, Luna took a shower and got changed into exotic dancewear. Only her private parts were covered. She came out looking like a million bucks and twirled in front of Leora. "The beta slut is back in business." This part of her never really left. She asked Leora if she wanted to come with her and apply as a stripper. Sadly, when Luna got there - the only job she was offered was a janitor job. She overheard Leora being offered the same thing. They did the walk of shame out of the strip club and Luna looked to Leora, shrugging. "Yeah, I think we should just stick to crimes." Speaking of criminal activities, BirdPerson had one of his guards come pick them up in a shiny black vehicle in front of the strip club. "He is expecting you, ladies. Hop in." Luna tilted her head, wondering what he is planning to talk to them about. She shrugged. She hopped in as the car then drove back home. She walked inside, walked up the long staircase which was like climbing a mountain and knocked on the boss' door. Leora was beside her. "You wanted to see us?" |

Upon hearing the knock at the door , BP motions one of his most trusted guards to open the door for his two Associates Luna and Leora to come into his office . He points towards the chairs sitting in front of his desk. "I'm glad you two could make it make it , We have some family business to take care of. Have a seat. Both you know the Mayor of Seattle has been taxing the hell out of 'The Imperial Nest'. I've been thinking of a solution to this problem." BP tosses a folder across his desk to them with a devilish grin as he stands up looking at the pair. " We're going to be kidnapping his family , to see which he loves more his family or themoney ." |

Leora nodded to BirdPerson and replied with a slight bow of the head, "Understood, boss."
She started stretching her shoulders and back. Perhaps one would expect a bartender to be refined, but that wasn't Leora. She was sure that a Mayor's house would have a lot of grunts, and she wanted to be the one to charge straight in and beat them up. She would leave the intimidation or seduction to the boss or Luna. |

Luna wanted to steer clear of headaches. She visited the massage parlour she said she was going to visit earlier that day. After speaking with BirdPerson in his office, she went over to see the Chinese man in the store. His hair was slicked back and his outfit was looking dapper. What never changed was his friendly smile though. It was always very welcoming. Luna appreciated his warm and gentle touch. She was actually a frequent customer there and would often get invited back, but due to how busy she was - she came here rarely. They were rare moments of joy and peace that she would never forget. After that, she decided to go out for some lunch and funnily enough was stopped by a friend she hadn't seen in a long time. It had been a while since Luna had contacted her, but she seemed to be doing well. They smiled at each other, although Luna didn't think her smile reached her eyes. They used to be good friends back in the day, always talking about 'forever'. Guess forever isn't a real thing. Luna hummed to herself as she walked along the sidewalk. She passed by a homeless man, her chest tightened and she frowned. Poor guy. She had been in that situation before. Summer of last year was the worst time of her life. Her body loomed over the homeless man, who was holding out his hands for mercy and looking up at her with sadness and lost hope in his eyes. Luna reached into her pocket and pulled out some loose change. "This is all I have. I'm sorry." She dug her hands in her coat pockets, put her head down and walked away. Home was not far anymore. As soon as she saw the headquarters, she quickened her pace and used her family key to get inside. Today was the day. She was going to pay the Mayor of Seattle a special visit. She asked Leora to come with her. It wasn't that hard to locate the guy. He practically had five cars and double the amount of bodyguards around him at all times. Luna and Leora were parked in a black vehicle out of plain sight. They were watching the major step out of the first black car. His home was nothing short of magnificent. There was another car coming out of the garage. It wasn't black. It was a white car. Luna had done her research beforehand and knew that this white car belonged to the mayor's daughter. Luna didn't know her name. All she knew was that she was a snobby bitch and would probably be too dumb to realize that she's getting kidnapped. Luna elbowed Leora in the ribs playfully. "Hey. We got lucky. The wife is with the daughter. If we can catch up to that car, it's a 2 for 1." When Luna saw that the car was a little far enough but still visible to her eyes, she turned on the engine and followed the white car. Luna thought about the plan she made with Leora and felt that it was good. She was confident that it would go to plan. Worse comes to worst, Luna and Leora could leave with a few bullets in their body, but Luna wasn't going to make that happen anytime soon. She was an assassin in training. She couldn't afford to make a mistake. Not now, not ever. Luna and Leora slowed down as the white car came to a stop at a boujee clothing store at the Waterfront mall. Luna looked at Leora and nodded. "Let's go." They both followed close behind the wife and daughter, who were heading towards the entrance. They weren't stupid though. Instead of coming with them into the store, they both waited until they did all their shopping before making their attack. Leora had the bodyguards covered while Luna trapped the wife and daughter into a corner. She pulled out her gun and pointed it at the both of them. "Don't scream. Don't speak. Get into the car. Come on, slowpokes, let's go. If you don't want to get hurt, follow my commands." Luna carefully walked behind them, the gun alternating between the wife's head and the daughter's head. The daughter made a glare and Luna caught it. Luna smacked the side of her head with her gun. "Lose the attitude. This will all be over soon." She looked back at Leora, slaying the bodyguards with her magical alpha queen powers. They were all dead in a heartbeat. Luna threw the wife and daughter into the backseat then hopped in the car behind the wheel. She honked at Leora. "They're dead already. Let's go quickly in case the major realizes something suspicious." Luna drove back to the headquarters. There was a small warehouse at the back that is usually used for tools but just for this special occasion, Luna had some of her guards clean it out so they can throw the mayor's family in. This is where they'd be kept for the meantime until the mayor can give what the family wants. No taxes, no problem. The wife and daughter were tied to separate posts with rope. Luna looked at the wife and shrugged out of disappointment. "Your husband should've known better than to make us pay any bullshit mayor taxes." She asked if Leora can take care of them for a while, even torture them if she wanted, before heading out to inform BirdPerson of the successful capture of the mayor's family. |

Luna knocked on BirdPerson's door, asking if she could come in. She explained to him that it was a successful capture and that they'd be ready to speak with him anytime. Luna added, "the mayor keeps bothering your mailbox. Shall I speak with him and let him know that we have his wife and kid?" Luna advised that tonight would be a good time, and quickly sent one of her guards to let the mayor know that he can come provided that he doesn't bring any of his monkey boys with him. He should come by himself, with an apology ready and a sum of a million dollars to take back everything that the Imperial Nest gave in the last few months. After this, there'd be no more taxes to pay. "Tonight at 8 o' clock sharp, meet by the river lake." Luna said to her personal bodyguard to send the message to the mayor. As agreed, Luna met up with the mayor that night. He wore a well tailored suit and his hair was slicked back. There was no around except for him. Luna nodded in approval and pointed her thumb behind her. The wife was trembling in fear as she didn't know what to expect from Luna. The lady had never heard of her. Have never even heard of the mafia before, so this was all new to her. The daughter had completely lost her attitude from earlier and now she was looking down at the ground hopelessly, itching to come back home and abandon this place. The mayor had a thick cigar in his mouth. The smoke flew into the air as he took a drag. Luna looked up at the sky and saw the big shiny moon smiling down at her, a reminder that everything would be okay. Luna let Bird speak first. She stepped away for a bit and watched over the wife and kid. When everything was said and done, Luna walked up to the mayor. "Good doing business with you. And I hope that you have learnt your lesson this time." The mayor adjusted his tie awkwardly and smiled. He just wanted to get his family back home safe and sound. He didn't really give a shit about the taxes anymore. So the question, is his family or money more important to him? Luna has her answer now. She untied the rope that was tying the wife and daughter's hands, before shoving them towards the mayor. The next day, Luna made sure to inform the mayor that if he ever thought of bringing this up with the cops, he would not like the consequences. Things were okay now. The money didn't have to be put towards the taxes anymore, and could actually be used for things that mattered. Luna went out one night to meet up with someone at a small cafe. Work was over and she was exhausted. It would be nice to catch up with an old friend. She smiled at StefanKuchler. "How have you been? It's been a while since we last spoke. I forgot the place where we met though. Do you remember it?" |

For the first time in three years, I might actually be late for work. There was heavy traffic on the road that day and I still needed to drop by the post office and pick up a package before this morning's meeting. Given the time that I had woken up, I was left to deal with a rush hour and an oatmeal bar that could barely satisfy my hungry appetite. It was no surprise that when I walked into the meeting room, everyone wore furious expressions. My stomach also just randomly decided to host a concert while the room was dead silent. Just my luck. I tried to avoid any questions and direct eye contact. Unlucky for me, BirdPerson had called me out on my late arrival this morning. I responded with a slight shrug of the shoulders and forced a smile. "My bed has arms. And it holds onto me tighter than usual when it's time for me to get up." Of course, no one was or looked convinced. I shut up for the rest of the meeting in defeat. Bird continued to talk to the family and discuss important matters. I literally couldn't think and felt like I was going to pass out without a proper meal, so I ended up asking for a lunch break so I could go out and get something to eat. If I didn't have a rush hour before work, I probably would be digging savagely into my homemade lunch. I'm going to have to stick to takeaway food. Chinese food wasn't so bad though. When the fifteen minutes break was over, I came back into work with a new mindset and happy attitude. Hated going to work on an empty stomach. On the way back to my office cubicle, I noticed a new face in the building. His outfit was unique from the rest of us working here. Instead of the usual suit and tie you'd see around here, he was wearing a grey jumpsuit and large leather boots. The new face was also holding a broom instead of a suitcase. Our new janitor? I didn't have anything better to do in that moment so I went up to the new face, whom I discovered was a girl and not a guy. At first, it was hard to tell what their gender was. All her hair was hiding under the matching grey cap she wore. She actually had a pretty face if I looked close enough. I began to ask her how she got this job, to which she responded with a friendly smile. "One of the people who work here is actually a friend of mine. He said you guys needed someone to clean in the day as well as the nights, so here I am. Plus, I really need the money at this moment." She continued to sweep the floors, which, if you ask me, looked good as new. I nodded, and understood the situation she was in. After a bit more chit chat, I came to the conclusion that she was desperate and willing to do anything for some quick bucks. Being the charitable girl I am, I gave her a business offer. I felt like she didn't like the sound of it, but that is until I told her what the payoff was. The desperation this woman had was a good reminder that the job would get done - quick. After exchanging contact details and addresses, I told her that I'd pick her up on the same night at ten o'clock, but that I could be five minutes late at least. The desperation in her eyes was astounding. She was nodding vigorously and smiling like there was no tomorrow. I appreciated her humility and gratefulness. I parted ways with the woman and let her get back to work. The thought I was carrying in my mind ever since that conversation all the way to home involved me contemplating whether I should hire the friendly and pretty face as my personal assistant as well as pull her into the criminal organization. She was eager for the money, right? Why not do something that could require little effort with a high payout? I shook my head and passed by my house. I had to pick her up tonight. As expected, she was out on her porch, dressed and ready to go. The street lights that sit along the sidewalk give way for me to drive the vehicle in a steady and smooth direction. It was night time and I wasn't always a good driver at night, but that night I was particularly good. I knew that the woman was feeling awkward so I asked her what her name was to break the silence. The lady opened her mouth in surprise. "Oh god, wait... I haven't even told you my name yet? I feel so stupid right now. I'm sorry-.. My name is Belinda." I check my watch, then look back to her and smile. "Beautiful name. I'm Luna. Nice to meet you - again. I hope this won't be the last time we meet though. I'm always down for making new friends in my line of work." My first impression of Belinda was really good, and made even better after I told her what she had to do to get the big bucks on her 'first assignment'. All she had to do was pickpocket someone. I told her just be quick and nimble, but she didn't seem to be paying attention. I think she was busy being nervous. I parked the car near a street market, turned off the engine and faced her with a look of patience. "You can do this." I smiled, then pointed to an old lady's purse nearby. |

Weeks passed, I was in fact delighted about my new accomplice. After her first pickpocketing incident, Belinda seemed to get the hang of it. I began to take her with me when meeting new business clients and dropping off packages. She seemed to learn from her own experiences as well as mine. Belinda always had my back. She was quite observant as well, which is exactly what I've been looking for in a personal assistant. There was one time where I didn't come back home for a week because I was accompanying her on a task. Anyways, she also dropped her janitor occupation and was now a full time assistant for me. I told her she didn't have to do any more dirty laundry after a few weeks. Her job now was to get people to do the dirty work for her. I simply had to hand out the tasks to whoever was available for work. The job board was full of advertisements from different families. Unemployment rates were decreasing, although I do wish the prohibition rule could be eradicated. Oh well. With the amount of corrupt agents in this country, you could just about get away with anything these days. Speaking of corrupt agents, I had to meet up with Officer Milos. He was my ears and eyes in the industry. Belinda was with me when I met up with him, holding onto her clipboard and pretending to look interested in what he was saying. She was busy looking at today's agenda instead. As I focused back on Officer Milos, I plastered on a friendly smile and shook his hand. I cringed slightly when he shook my hand with his sticky one. He was eating toasted bread with strawberry jam. I pulled back my hand, rested it on my lap and smiled. I decided to just start talking as he was munching away to let him know how what his cut was this week, and also to not waste time. Time was precious. I wanted to take Belinda on an important shopping trip later. "Thanks to your help, I've gotten double the profit from last week. One million. We can take five thousand each. Does that sound good?" I tilted my head, waiting for Milos' answer to which he responded with widened eyes and a bobbing head. I smiled. I was satisfied. He finished his last crumb of his toast and then he wiped his mouth with a clean napkin. My eyes creeped over his face, wondering why he never pursued modelling as a career. He was decent looking and all. Maybe I should bring it up another time or the next time we meet. "That's what I like to hear, Luna. So anyways how have you been?" He wiped the sides of his mouth then set the napkin down. This week was busy, but that's how my schedule has always been. Busy and booked. I shrugged, smiling. "Oh, y'know," I said as my eyes zeroed in on the trees outside, "just trying to survive." I was determined on dedicating my life to the world of crime, and maybe just keep doing that until I die. I wondered if retirement could be a better option down the road. Officer Milos seemed to sense that I was drifting off into wonderland so he finally stood up from his chair and voiced his farewell with a nod and a smile. "Well, I better be going Luna. Gotta meet up with the boys later. You take care now, eh?" I stood up, looking behind me to signal to Belinda that we were heading off. As I saw Officer Milos go, I waved to him and smiled, reminding him to take care and not get caught by the big boys. It's okay though. I hired him as my CA for a reason. He was good at what he did. Turning back to Belinda, I gestured my hand back to the car. I planned to take her on a huge shopping trip. In a couple of days was my trip to Paris. We were invited to a fashion show for the elites and I wanted myself and Belinda to look my best. I wanted to take care of Belinda's outfit first though. She had a pretty good fashion sense... for someone who only just found out the latest trends in accessories. I had recently made her hop on the bandwagon of wearing berets and leather t-bars. Looking like a fashionista. I felt like a proud mama as I showed her all the different high end clothing stores in town. Belinda had a particular interest in sweatpants and crop tops, but I made sure that she was going to be on six inch heels and a dress for this one. It was time for a change. As I collaborated with a tailor in a women's clothing boutique, I picked out an elegant white gown for Belinda with matching white heels. Diamond white pearls for an accessory, as well as her hair up in a bun. My heart stopped as she stepped out of the changing room. I nodded. "That's it. Yes. Spin for me. This is the one." I looked at the tailor, smiling. "A decision has been made. We'll take it." Even Belinda was smiling from ear to ear as she looked down at her gown, spinning around to look at her reflection in the mirror. As Belinda made a check for fifty thousand and gave it to the personal tailor, I began to tell her once we headed back to the vehicle, "now I just have to figure out what I'm going to wear... I think I might go for the typical bimbo look. We'd have a contrast, wouldn't we?" |

Paris was divine. Luna and Belinda were already beyond exhausted when they boarded on the plane that was going back to the states. Their suitcases were being dragged across the floor by the two bodyguards that Belinda hired for the trip. They already had their outfits that were picked from last week and then they instantly flew to Paris for the fashion show. Supermodels walked along a white narrow stage while Luna and Belinda were sitting on the sidelines with the rest of the guests. That went on for a few hours. Luna admired the outfit choices of the stylists and wondered herself if she could ever become a model. She ranted to Belinda on the plane. "Maybe I should become a model or something one day. I'm not that bad looking right?" Luna said while she had a mouthful of salad in her mouth. Aioli dressing was pouring out the side of her mouth, making Belinda chuckle loudly. She looked back at her clipboard and resumed to what she was checking off on the list. Belinda said without looking up, "oh I'm sure, hun. Maybe we can take some etiquette classes or something first though." Luna looked back at her with an angry pout before going back to eating her salad. The plane ride was a breeze. When the plane touched down, Belinda was the first one to wake up and now she tried to get Luna to get up from her slumber. It took a few minutes of gentle arm shakes before Luna tiredly woke up, rubbed her eyes and stretched her arms behind her. Groaning as she stood up, Luna said, "we're here already? Geezus. I felt like I only slept for an hour." Belinda shook her head, sighing as she gestured for the guards to fetch their carry on luggage. "Probably because the last few days you've been up all night panicking about the fashion show. It wasn't that bad now, was it?" Luna's shoulders relaxed. Belinda was right, after all. She kept on panicking hours before the event, barely getting any sleep the night before. The guards walked ahead of them as Luna and Belinda followed behind. They were going to get picked up by a private taxi. Surely enough, as Luna finally walked out of the airport she saw a shiny, black van parked conveniently in front of the entrance. Wanting nothing more than to get home, Luna was the first one to hop in the backseat with Belinda. The guards went in a separate car and they were following the taxi. No one in the cab talked to each other. The driver seemed to get the hint that they were tired and wanted to go home as soon as possible. As they were heading back to Imperial Nest, Luna looked out the window and started to reflect back on her trip in Paris. What if every day she could live in Paris? It was beautiful there. Luna smiled to herself, thinking what if she could just buy a small house with a view that would overlook the Eiffel tower. Now that - would be spectacular. But truth be told, Luna was too dedicated to her career and to her family. One day though, when the time is right, Luna would pursue the good ol' retirement and head back to Paris, the place that was too good to be true. The moment of sentimental reflection ended when Belinda suddenly woke up and started to panic. She looked at her clipboard and shuffled a few papers before her eyes landed on the name. Belinda nodded while saying, "Luna... someone called in last night saying they wanted to meet you today." Luna rubbed the back of her head, the muscles in her neck feeling a little sore. "They say what they wanted to see me for?" With no agenda in mind, Luna was unsure if this discussion was going to be all that important. She also felt like she'd be unprepared. "Um.. no actually... They did not..." Belinda furrowed her eyebrows in confusion as she looked down at her clipboard. Then she put it away. Belinda shrugged. "Don't worry. I told him that if the meeting could be in a public place, not a secluded one. Just in case this guy tries anything. Some people aren't to be trusted and you know that." Luna nodded. The driver in the front finally put the cab to a halt when he arrived at the Imperial Nest. He looked into the rearview mirror and tipped his hat. "Have a good one, ladies." Grabbing the money from her purse to hand to the driver, Belinda smiled. "Thank you for the ride, sir. Have a good one." Luna got out of the car and stretched her body. She yawned. Luna asked Belinda, tilting her head, "what time is that meeting at?" Luna wanted to have a quick nap before going to meet whoever that guy was. But it was hard for her to close her eyes as she was too busy thinking about what exactly did that guy want from her? While Belinda was out for lunch, Luna just decided to pick out her outfit instead of napping. Her fancy closet vault was her favourite part of the house. She decided to go with a short sparkly dress, which was really extra and unnecessary of her. But she liked to go out in style. Luna put her hair up in a slick bun and did her makeup. By the time Belinda came back, Luna was already ready to go. Belinda smiled excitedly, taken aback by her outfit. "Date?" "Nope. Criminal by night, fashionista by day." Luna twirled around in her dress, laughing. |

The public place that Luna had met the guy at was at a small coffee shop swarming with locals and tourists. Their bagels were particularly popular, which Luna suggested he try for the sake of trying to break the ice. Few minutes had passed since they met and Luna had yet to find out the meaning of this not so private discussion. Belinda was seated alone, few tables away, watching the pair like a hawk. Not like it happened before, but Belinda wanted to make sure that Luna would be safe - so she had guards standing in each corner - also watching the pair like a hawk. The guy seemed harmless though. He looked to be a young, dapper man. The man graciously took his hat off and placed it on the table that separated them. Luna smiled, waving a waitress over. A red haired woman named Stacy came over and she said, "what can I get you guys?" Without looking over to the guy, Luna immediately answered with sureness and confidence, "two tomato and cream cheese bagel sandwiches please. Thanks love." Stacy smiled as she wrote down their orders on a flip notepad. The guy nodded towards Luna, acknowledging the fact that she ordered for the both of them. "Thank you, Luna." He finally spoke - and with a twist - he had a strong Italian accent. The mystery man introduced himself as Fiorello, an owner of a major company in Italy although he didn't say what his services were, "and I have heard aplenty things about you. Do you know that you have been mentioned once in the local newspapers of Sicily?" He spoke with that strong Italian accent again. Luna smiled daringly, "oh?" No one had ever told her, or rather she never even knew that her name could go beyond the states of America. She also seemed to be deeply insecure about her own achievements and abilities that she simply denied such a thing. Her question was followed by a laugh that sounded so forced that the guy thought she was being bitter about the situation. Fiorello furrowed her eyebrows in confusion. He started to sweat, unsure of what to make of her reaction. Luna noticed this and she cleared her throat. Out of embarrassment, she spoke shyly and said, "I'm sorry. I do not mean to make fun or offend you. It's just that... this is the first time that I'm hearing about this. Can you tell me more about this?" Fiorello was happy to comply! Stacy came back with their bagel sandwiches and she flashed her sweet smile saying, "you two enjoy." Fiorello nodded to Stacy and took a big bite of his bagel so he could think about what to say while chewing. Twenty five chews later, Fiorello added, "well uhm.. I assure you - there is nothing bad being said about you back at home. But many civilians, not just the mob, have heard that you are a renown businesswoman. Charitable too, the newspapers say. And then it said you are also an economist, willing to help small firms enter the market and maximise their profits. You see Luna, my business isn't exactly what you call small." There was a shade of passion in his voice and Luna put down her bagel sandwich on the plate, something she never would do for a few simple words and she replied, "what exactly is it that you want, giovanotto?" A silence filled the air as Fiorello crossed his arms in front of him and leaned forward. His voice was getting huskier as he spoke deeper. "I wish to unire la mia attività con la tua, Luna. I know that you have an abundance of important connections in your pocket, and in exchange I can offer my very elite services to you." There was no surprised reaction from Luna. In simpler terms, this man wanted to be her business partner. Thank goodness she knew how to speak Italian otherwise she would be looking stupid in that moment. Luna nodded and she stood up, shaking his hand. "I'll discuss further details about it with you another time. I don't really want to be talking about such matters in here. I hope you understand, lad." Luckily, his patience was never usually tested. Fiorello was a mellow guy, and he simply made an inquiry. Belinda came over and introduced herself as well to Fio. After Belinda checked Luna's schedule on her clipboard, she had requested if he could come down to the office, which Luna was fine with. "Yes, preferably in the morning or afternoon. I have evening dinner with the family." Luna enjoyed seeing the twinkling of joy in his eyes. She could get used to this. It was true - she was a very charitable woman. Always willing to help. But there was another side of her - one that would be revealed if anyone tried to overlook her character. Now, Fiorello gave a nod to Luna and Belinda's request and put his fedora hat back on. Then he left without another word. Belinda was caught up on the details in the car on the way home. She then turned to Luna and leaned her head to the side. "You sure about this guy?" "We'll see, Belinda. We'll see." |

After the whole chocolate chip cookie and chai latte incident, Luna and Belinda had agreed to work with him on one condition that he would not dare to ever mix business with pleasure. Luna had suspicions that he was some kind of creepy stalker, but turns out that he hadn't been with a girl for so long that he forgot how they were like. Luna made sure to put him in his place one day when she sent a few words to his father. They weren't mean words, but they held ill intention, that if he ever tried to pull of something like that again then it'll be the end for him. Fiorello couldn't understand this, but he went away and accepted his fate. It was situations like these that made Luna feel grateful to have Belinda by her side. She was always grateful, but this time she was deeply appreciative of her caring nature. It was back to work and normal schedule for Luna. Work had been slow the last few days because of some clients that backed out, but today Luna had received some good news from Belinda. She walked into her office with a wide smile on her face. Belinda clicked her pen against the metal part of her clipboard and a rhythm commenced from her random tapping. Luna was annoyed by it, but she looked up from what she was doing - so it worked. "Good news. The overseas client that we had contacted last week when we offered our services to him wishes to speak to you. He says face to face. Flying in tomorrow." Luna dropped her pen and stopped chewing her gum. She squealed in her office chair and banged her first happily against the desk. "Alright. Sure." She regained her composure and cleared her throat. Luna felt the excitement burst in her veins. Just when she thought she was losing profits in the industry, she caught a big fish. This was good. Luna was sure now that the other firms competing against her were quaking in their boots. They hated to see her win. Luna resisted the urge to jump up and dance, but this was all too exciting. Luna had heard many things about this overseas client. His name was Cason Reid, leader of a renown drug cartel in Mexico. He was born in Mexico, raised in America and rumours say that his father had taught him to be knowledgeable in drugs ever since he was just a child. Luna thought that was rather exaggerated though. Who would put a child through something like that? Crazy people, that's what. Belinda nodded and smiled. She was excited too. It just didn't register on her face. "I've organized your meeting with him to be at the drug warehouse." Luna tilted her head and frowned. She preferred it to be at the office purely because it was quieter here. Back at the warehouse, Luna's workers were loud and busy. Belinda interrupted her train of thought and added, "he wants to see... everything." Luna nodded slowly. Still unsure, but she understood. "Everything?" Luna asked for clarification as she leaned back in her chair. "Everything." There was nothing wrong with that. He deserved that much, at least. If this guy planned to invest a whole lot of money into the company, he deserved to know what he was getting himself into. Luna clicked her tongue. She smiled. "Then he shall see everything. Any appointments today?" Belinda nodded as she looked down at her clipboard. "He goes by the name of Kobayashi and he says he has big money. That's all he said." Luna nodded and told Belinda to leave her alone for a bit so she could finish up in the office. She met up with Kobayashi. Turns out he wants to merge businesses with her and apparently hatched an evil plan to take down another drug cartel. Luna had no choice but to say no. She had already earned the trust of the other firms. To betray them just because of one man sitting in front of her wasn't good enough. They parted ways. Kobayashi wasted his time, and even more of Luna's time. Luna spent the evening at Imperial Nest. She apologized for her delayed arrival at the dinner table. Luna kissed her crewleader and fellow family members on the cheek. Belinda had dinner already so she just spent quality time to herself in the living room. As food was being served around, Luna spoke up and did a toast. She held her champagne glass up and clinked it with her silver fork. "Here's to Imperial Nest and to our growing success," she said sweetly as she looked around. Each and every face there meant everything to her. The deal with Cason was still in the back of her mind. Luna couldn't help but bring it up and it earned her a few cheers and congratulations. "Hey, whatever helps the family." Luna smiled delightfully. Most of, if not all, the profits were going to the family taxes and donations. The family was the reason that she started her business anyway. Everything she did, she did it for them. |

Stefan was strolling down the street minding his own business when he bumped into someone he hadn't seen in a long time. Someone he had in fact thought was dead. Strange how these things work, apparently false rumors run rampant everywhere in this world. He smiled sweetly at the pretty Asian girl he barely knew, but whos face he could never forget. He raked his brain for a few seconds but couldn't seem to recall the name of the place they had met, so instead he shrugged looked at her and said, "Some bar in LA" With a slight bow Stefan offered his elbow and began walking towards the nearest restaurant, perhaps they would have better luck not getting interrupted by life in there. As they reached the nearest restaurant he could find he opened the door and offered for Luna to go first. |
