Benito were a young man living on Sicily in a small village called Buttoglia, the small village were about 2 miles north-east from Enna. It was near the mountans up to Etna the big volcano which hasnt been active for long, he walked there with his sheep-heard and just enoyd the nature he had also his best friend with him a big fellow named Tikko, a big hound weing over 45 kilos, a cane corso-breed and were so good to have with him since there were wolfs somewhere here in the mountains. He sits down to take a break and the sheeps stops to and et and rest a bit under the tree that gave them shadow, the sun were at noon now so the heat starts coming. Tikko looked at him and he took up a bit of the meat he took along to give him, he throws a big bone filled with meat on and Tikko catch it in the air and lay down and starts to chew on it, heate like a wild animal. He took out some bread with salami on and and some with italian cheeses that his parents made locally and sold each weekend in Enna where they travelled all together to so he could meet up his friend sin there.

After a little siesta they started their journey down the alley again, down to where his home were, suddenly he hears a wolf and Tikko hears it to and runs up a hillside, now its going to be a fight thought Benito but nothing hears from there, in a while Tikko comes back and it seems like the wolf ran away fast when smelling Tikka, this was a really good friend to have with you out in the wilderness.

Soon they were at home, he puts the sheep in the back of the house and shuts the gate so they cant ascape during the night and Tikko the dog had his plac just besides them so no wild animal could come close there at might without him killing them. He walks in and see his other staying their and makes evening-supper, he gives her  hug and sits down and then papa comes in and Benito just get paralyzed, hes not afriad of his father but he had so much respect that he didnt even dare to breath high without the father said so. The mothe rputs the food on the table and they starts eating it, it was some kind of sheep-stew and mama did it wonderful and they ate up it all and then they gets tired so Benito thanks for him and goes to sleep, sun had just gone down so it was time for all to sleep, but not Tikko out there, he slept with one eye, could waken up fast if any happened and it did that some nights here.

He wakes up in the morning when the sun just had gone up, he streches out there on the bed and remember that its friday today and it was the day when they took off to Enna, he smiled, he would meat up his friends now and there were one special one he wanted to meet most, her name was Madonna, she was just like a madonna, but much more pretty, she was about his age, around17 years.

He helps his old folks to pack the wagon and then goes an taje out the old ox that will transport all their home-maid food to the market in Enna. He helps his papa to spend the ox to the wagon and then he walks in the kitchen and his mom tells what he shall carry out and he do that, soon they all are ready to go and off they go to the famous market. The walk takes about a couple of hours so they start to walk right away and leaves the dog home to guard.

They soon are near the town and he then asks his mom if he can go on for himself, of course she says, she understood whats going on, he wnated to go to where his girlfriend lived, sh lived be her parents just outsode the bigger village Enna so off he goes to visit her. What he then didnt know were that those youngsters were allowed by both parents to meet, it was settled when they were very young that they should get married.

He comes to the house where his girlfriend lived, but no one seems to be home, he got very scared since they always ws home, he hears som noice at the backside of the house and goes back to check what it is that sounds weird from there. When he comes their he spots Mdonnas mum laying there in the grass and cries, he asks her whats going on and then she tells him that the polica came and took her husband and then her daughter followed behind in anger, oh my he said, which way did they go, this sounds not good at all, she poited out the direction and he thanked her and told her not to worry, this will he take care of.

He starts to run home, quite a bit from home he whistled highly so he know Tikko can hear him, and oh yeah, he heard and came running down the hill to him, good boy says he to the dog, off they go after his girlfriend and her father. They were not far away. He soon nears them and stops to see whats going on and how he could help out in any way. He see that the police arent that many, just 3 men and he can see the father sitting down and are tight up with hand-cloves, his girlfriend cant he see, suddenly it moves just besides him, Tikko starts to act but soon he seems happy and out comes Madonna who he knew well. "Hey my drling, good to see you not also being arrested. Now we must free your father and then you must fle up the mountains to hide.

He says to Madonna to stay put and then he and Tikko slowly moves down to the police, Tikko and he easily beat the police, 2 get bitten hard by Tikko and the last one pledge for hs life and they spared him (this wasnt good since this man will make things happen quickly so Benito also get to run later on)

Beniot tells the father that he now must tke Madonna and get home and then hide themselves since the polcie soon will get more people coming after tem, he agreed and thanked dearly for Beniotos help, he hugged madonna and told her they soon will see each other. He follows them home so he know theyr safe.

He now goes back to Enna to tell her mother and fahter but when he reach th outskirts of the village he hear many screams and noice and see that the whole village are filled with police-officers and aslo militairs. He get mad but realize he cant reach his parent he have to flee he to, he turns around in anger and strats his journey up the mountain-range to see if he can get in touch fast with madonnas family, this wasnt good, seems like the police where after him to now.

After quite some time he ends up high up in the mountain and up here he could see way down the alley if anything happened and had full control of his situation at the moment. First he do is to sit down and rest a bit, he couldnt risk to light up a fire so he used Tikko to get some warming from him, he say there for an hour and thought about all that has happened lately, he understood this would happen some day, but why today, soemone must have informed the påolice that they was in Enna today, he hoped his parents were ok but he didnt know anything about it, he fell asleep, he knew the dog would keep watch so he cooled down and get to sleep in Tikkos fur.

Suddenly he wakes of because Tikko are growling and he notice it had getting dark, tikko stairs in the darkness there he also now looks and suddenly he sees 2 figures coming there, Tikko could smell them and he knew them by their smell so he was calm, it was Benitos two best friends that came, they ahd food both to him ad Tikko and for themselves, they ate together and talke, now he got the betetr opicture of what happened.

His parents were arrested but not accused of anything since it was him they were after and his girlfriend and her family were totally out of this, that when they took hers father was a misstake. Now Benito understands after his friends telling that his time here on Sicily were about to end. Where could he go, he spoked a bit with his friends and on of them came up with a pretty amaizing thing that I should travel to america, over the great atlantic ocean, was he insane or what...

They had resting now a bit in the mountain-range and decided to that they must walk north up over the mountains to rech a port-town there the police hasnt any forces yet and there they could get to the mainland by boat. They started the long way they had in front of them and by having his dog Tikko with him it was a real security they all had, he walked a cuople of houdred feets before them and if any came up he would notice that long time before they could do.

The now were highest up and it was a great day and they could see down the alley which they were about to go down to, not anything moved down there. The hiked down the mountain, they took it carefully since it was pretty deep in some parts and much needed to taki it slower there, Tikko the dog hadnt any problems at all, he just walked like he use to on plain ground.

Suddenly Tikko starts to show up hard aggressiveness and starts to bark hard to while pointing to a tree-area, there was something there, they all took up their weapons and were ready, suddenly a small bear starts to run and Tikko after, they all laughs at it, Benito whistles on Tikko and he comes back in a few and are happy and Benito claps him over his back.

Now they reached the grounds in the valley, the mountain now laid behing them and they checked by a compass which direction to go next and off they go.The walks over plain fields with grass and soon comes to a farmers house theres a man and woman stands in front and just looks at them, then ther just a few feet away the man asks them who they are and Benito tells him the whole story and after listening carefully he invites them all in to eat with them but he says that the dog stays outside, no problem says Benito to the man.

They all sits all five around a gig table in thick wood that the man himself had made out of the wood near the house he said, they had everything they needed around them he said and were very luckily living here he said, the only thing were thatt hey had lost 3 children during the last 25 years, all of them had fled to america, ah said benito to the man, thats where we also were going soon, the man get excited and starts to ask us to when going to america then can you please look up his kids, it was 3 young men, they should be at 21, 24, 28 right now, he leaves the table to go and get some pictures on them, take this he says so can you easier see who they are, Benito were about to tell the man how big america was but he kept quite about that since they were so nice with them, after the emal the man told them that they could stay over the night and sleep in the stable, there were plenty of space above the cows. They thanked him for that and together they walked in and get to sleep since they had to get up early to ctch the boat they had to travel with, it should be going very early in the morning since it was a fishing-boat and they always gets out erly so even if they just helped people to escape they still got out early so no one got suspicious. It smeeled a bit but they were used to that and falled to sleep pretty fast.

When they waks up its still very early morning but both the man and woman are up, the man comes to the stable and tells them to clean ourself up a bit and when done with that come in and have some breakfast. Benito and his friends did what the man told thee and after cleaning themselves up they comes into the kitchen there the woman had done some very sicilian porridge eaten with some milk on, it filled up anys stomache and even they got pretty fed up and thanked for their kindness and told them both that the three now must continue to the port down the alley to get on a boat, the man told them he wil lfollow because he new the woner of the boat, they all agreed on this and went on down to the little town with a small harbour and many fishingboats.

When they reached toe outskirts of the town they sneaks into it to be sure no police were there, they meet a local that tells them there was no polic near so they were happy and starts to walk like nowmal people again and soon they were at the harbour, the man goes down to the boat, jumps on and goes down and stays away for a couple of minutes, soon both him and a big sailorman appears and tells the thre to kump aboard and the man jumps off and tells Benito to not to forget to contact his sons, he promise he wil ldo all he can to find them. The sailor looses the boat and sailes on, he told them he could take them all the wau to england and there they could reach USA from Liverpool, they thanked the sailor for this and gets down under and sits dwon and talk among them about all things happened lately.

They has been on the sea now for more than three days and the winds finally helped them better now when they came out to the atlantic ocaen and were about to sail up to England and Liverpool. The sat their toether on deck and just took a sun-bath, they had just eating breakfast and just now there wasnt much to do on the fishing-boat so they just relaxed and took it easy in the sunny day they just had been getting. The little boat has some difficulty her when it was upstream, a pretty harddown-stream from north made it hard for this small boat to get along with the sea, they hold themselfes near the coast-line to France to avoid the worst of the sea.

Late this day they just had passed france almost and the captain of the boat now said that they just had a small way left to the english town Liverpool, they went down and took on thier clothes and packed their bags to be ready for in about two hours they will get into the harbor. It had been a pretty neat journey and Benito were now very interested in the big town of Liverpool, so was his friends to, they all stand by the relings and looks at all big ships laying there at the way into the harbor. Soon they could jump off and feel the ground again, they hadnt much time before the big boat to America should go so they had to stay close to it or maybe bord it right away so they not miss it.

They jumps off and just stands there to take in everything they see, they hadnt see any such big town before, pretty amazed where they.They thanked the captain and then they starts to walk the short way tp the big, and then they meant BIG boat that will take them over-seas, they didnt believe that man could built so big ships like this one was.
