It was time. All the guns were stashed; the cars were ready to go. Everyone was on twenty-four hours alert for the job to go off. Anytime, or no time was the word, and Tanda had made it so. Now, it was up to me. I had to send out the alerts. First, it was a call to Tanda. “Boss? Yeah it’s me. We’re going in 2 hours. Yeah, it’s all set. I’ll be letting mandalore know in an hour and a half just like we planned. Right, let’s get the count going.” Then it was time to check my own guns one more time. All good. Elapsed time one hour and twenty-five minutes, good enough time to wake mando “yo mando, we go in and hour and thirty five. Be ready. Yep, we’re go for case one. Just like we planned. Yeah. Yeah. Bye”
Out the door, into the waiting car. “55th and Broadway, Joe, step on it.” Now we were doing things. Now, we were rolling. |
