A nap sounded like a good idea. Emily got up from the chair and wandered to the bed, grabbing Silvio's hand to bring him with her. "All I know about him is what I've heard from others that have employed him. Some for private investigations, some for making problems disappear and some for making problem people disappear. His skill and ability to cover his tracks is impressive by all accounts. I just hear he's hard to track down. I had planned to stake out his office until he showed up; that's why I've still got the nun's get-up stowed away." She tugged him down onto the bed and yawned as she laid back on the still-made bed. Propping up on her elbow, she watched him for a few moments. "A while ago, you asked me about my plans...for the future. What about yours? When you don't have to hide anymore, what is it you want to do with your life?" |

Silvio shrugged, a hint of melancholy crossing his face for the first time Emily had known him. "I... don't know. I never really think more than a day or two in the future... here, I am not really able to." He sighed. "But, I hope to build a life for myself here in America where plans become more possible." |

"Land of opportunity, huh? I guess it hasn't been the golden dream they tell you about, has it? Here I'm complaining about having to run around the country, and you're in a whole new world." She offered him a sincere smile- one tinged with compassion and warmth rather than impish lust for once. "You're doing a hell of a job with it, though. You don't even seem afraid. I have to admit, I have my days when I'm just terrified that it's the last time I'm going to wake up and see the morning. It's not that I've got a whole lot to live for; but I'd like a chance t build something. Like you." |

Silvio shrugged. "I live for love and for my own enjoyment. I hope to live a long, happy life in which I die at the age of 90 after experiencing intense lovemaking with a beautiful woman. But... I am not so afraid to die. Still, I don't wish it." He grimaced. "This business... it needs to be sorted soon, Emily. I am excellent at running and hiding. The fox needs to be perfect, running from the hounds.... the hounds only need to be lucky once. If you cannot find Mr. Riddle... meet with me. Let me introduce you to my new, powerful friend." Shifting his position slightly, Silvio leaned his head back against the wall and rested, still listening to Emily. |

Silvio, for all his wit and slyness, made a very wise point. It only takes one lucky shot. Emily had taken two already, and she didn't want to give the third a chance to be the lucky one. "Can't hurt to have a back up plan, right? I am going to go to his office tomorrow. I'll get back in the nun outfit to get and avoid drawing attention. We'll see how it goes. We'll get out of here tonight and find another place to hide out, and I'll meet you there when I'm done." She glanced out the window. The afternoon sun was getting lower. They would escape under the cover of darkness. Until then, Emily knew they should sleep. With a quiet sigh, she rested her head on Silvio's shoulder and closed her eyes. |

For most of the day, they took turns sleeping. Occasionally they heard footsteps in the hallway, but no one tried the door. Peering through the window, Silvio saw two black sedans drive away. Still, they sat tight until the evening; when the night was black, they slipped out into the hallway and outside the side door, trying to silently make their way back into the anonymity of The Strip. |
