A Widow's Written Account Started by: Luna on May 23, '19 02:24

Seems like it was just yesterday that Luna was dancing all through the peaceful night with her Imperial Nest family, until the dark clouds took over the sky – they lost each other in the war zone.

--

Luna was sleeping on her cream coloured sofa. She was conscious, but her body remained still on the soft couch. She was dreaming – of waking up in the meadow surrounded by pretty little flowers while losing her sight into the white fluffy clouds up above that reminded her of marshmallows. As she is stuck in her daydream, Luna sits up and sees someone in the distance.

She could hear his soul crying out for her. She can hear the yelling in its isolation. There seems to be a deep connection between her and him. Both of them – sharing the same air – the same silence. And then, when Luna sees his face in its entirety, her chest gets tightened with anxiety and her heart picks up speed.

It’s him. It’s always been him. The same person she’s been having dreams about since the war.

Luna walks slowly over to him. Her footsteps were light as a feather. She was getting two feelings at once, excitement and pain. Both of them at the same time were too much for Luna to handle.

“My love…” She parted her lips slightly as she spoke in a mellow tone.

Love. The only thing that was exciting and painful at the same time. And yes – it hurt more when the person you loved the most was no longer with you in real life. The cool air brushed her cheek. It made her shiver and instinctively moved toward him before wrapping her arms around his neck. They touched foreheads.

They were both getting old. But they loved like teenagers. A shudder slid over her body as she brushed noses with him. Her sight rested upon his lips. His voice always heated up her body.

“Look into my eyes Luna, and tell me what you see.”

“Love,” she whispered, “I can see pure love.”

But this is all a dream. He’s gone. He’s really gone, and Luna can’t accept it. She don’t know when she will. But she has a son to take care of now and even named him after her husband. BirdPersonJr.  Now, her heart is nothing more than a fiery pit, a bloody wound covered with pain that won’t heal. He is gone. However, Luna will never forget the memories. She closes her eyes, letting her body melt into his.

RIP To All Seattle's Angels.

Luna was tiptoeing on past memories, cherishing them for what they were and appreciating what had happened. She was more than financially stable now after inheriting her husband's riches, but decided to give back to the family. It was no point keeping all the money to herself when she barely went out to spend it all. Besides, Luna wasn't all that materialistic. She just wanted to help, that's all.

There were small flushed circles on her cheeks as she stood out in the cold.

She held her coat tighter to her chest and slowly exhaled, seeing the air erupt from her mouth. Luna was on her way to visit a friend - a very special friend and her name was Leora. Just to say hi and check up on her. It had been a few days now and they had not really seen each other face to face save for a couple of quick telegrams during the war.

With her keys dangling in her fingers, she unlocked her car and hopped in. Se readied herself and gripped her cold hands on the steering wheel. Luna had not forgotten the most important thing though - her son. He was already sitting in the back seat, buckled up. Luna looked in the rearview mirror and caught his attention. "Just gonna visit your auntie."

Luna wanted her son, BirdPersonJr, to always refer to her as auntie. Even though Luna and Leora weren't really sisters - but Luna swore they could be long lost siblings.

--

Luna and her son were standing on Leora's porch. She knocked a couple of times, waiting patiently for her.

BirdPersonJr stands next to his Mother Luna on his Auntie Leora 's porch dreadiing the upcoming tear feast. But also realizing that his Mother most likely is in dire need of of releasing her grief of his Pops. He pulls out his grandfathers watch that his Father left him after his death. He turns to his Mother and asks.

"Mother will we be here long? Because me and the guys, have a handball game set at noon."

BirdPersonJr stares at his Mother knowing the rush act has possibility has just started a argument.

Leora looked at the mother and son pair getting out of their car and was suddenly filled with deja vu. Luna held onto her BirdPersonJr 's hand as they walked towards her porch. She felt a lurch in her chest and was reminded of BirdPerson Sr. Luna's love towards her son was deeply familial which reminded of the book which lay on her queen-sized bed, Game of Throws. The themes of family and love was definitely strong in that kids series.

Leora halted her thoughts as she bowed to BirdPersonJr. She had respect for the new right-hand man, after all.

"Welcome to my humble estate," Leora said as she greeted them at the door. Leora was falsely humble. It was a massive estate complete with fountains and naked statues. There were maids and butlers dusting everywhere. There were birds chirping while the scent of lilac drifted in the air.

"I feel grief over our losses. There were many Seattle elite who fell, especially Klejnot and Sinfest. Klejnot died to protect me," Leora said as she still felt a bit of sadness. "However, their kin roam the streets. And I'm happy to see them."

"Biscuits and tea please," Leora requested as she clapped her hands.

Calling her friend's villa extensive and superb was an understatement. Luna raised her eyebrows in delight as Leora suddenly appeared before her. She looked young and fresh. Luna wondered if Leora was getting those popular vampire facials in her spare time. Luna still hadn't let go of her son's hand when she kissed her friend/sister on the cheek, and after a few minutes of greetings being exchanged, Luna and BirdPersonJr followed Leora inside.

Remembrance of those who had died in the war was brought up and Luna instantly felt her heart break into millions of pieces. But she had already broken down crying once in front of everybody - she had to remain strong. There was a touch of a smile on Luna's lips that didn't quite reach her eyes.

"I'm happy too! And I'm sure they will continue the legacy of their bloodline." Luna looked briefly at her son, smiling. She pointed to him and said, "and this one here I'm deeply proud of. He is so much like his father."

Leora’s caterers had prepared a nice refreshing snack for Luna and her son. Luna picked up a biscuit and took a small bite, letting some tiny crumbles fall gracefully onto her lap. “Heh. Oops.” It was so chewy, so moist, so yummy.

Luna looked at her son. He looked irritated about something – probably that stupid handball game again. “We at your auntie’s place, young man. That game can wait.”

Walks inside the home with his mother and auntie.  Being  a little agitated about  being late to his handball game with Korg. he mutters to himself  about having to pay his bet because he wouldn't be on time.  He looks at  his mother Luna and rolls his eyes. his glance turns toward Leora realizing  emotions are running high. He chooses to help his family through their grief.

"Yes ma'am. Leora, do you have any chocolate chip cookies?"  Suddenly he feels his mothers death glare upon him. "If you have them."

He suddenly notices a picture, of his father standing next to his uncle Jerry when the seemed young. " This must been before their rise to power?"

"Yes," Leora said sadly. "We should have had two godfathers, but only Jerry made it. Your father was just 10 days off."

She sighed and patted him. "Maybe you'll be achieve what your father couldn't," Leora said as she encouraged him.

"You heard him," Leora told her butler. The butler went away and returned with a platter of cookies. The platter was as tall as BirdPersonJr. They weren't only chocolate chip cookies. There were marshmallow, Hershey's chocolate, and strawberries that served as stuffing.

"So, I was actually making the new HQ bar when Sinfest was shot down. It was actually supposed to be under the Imperial Tower, but it's in my basement now. Do you want to see?" Leora asked the two of them.

Just as the huge platter of cookies came through, Luna was amused at her son’s appetite. He sure looked ready to feast on that. “Now, now. Not too much of that, Jr. Treat yourself but don’t stuff yourself.”

Luna raised her brows. The HQ bar? Now that was something that sparked her interest. Of course she wanted to see it! “Yeah, would love a tour. My son,” she looked at BirdPersonJr sternly, “would love to maybe get hired as a bartender as a little side hustle.”

Luna wanted her son to earn money the right way first. Lord knows what stuff he’s up to these days when she’s not around to scold him. She had already noticed that his pockets were getting fuller each day with cash. It was good to see, but damn Luna was curious sometimes.

--

Leora had kindly led Luna and her son down to the basement. Luna looked around and gave a few nods as a sign of approval. "Well, if you need to hire a bartender you got my son here. Anyways - I think he has a handball game he has to go to...?" Luna looked at her son and raised an eyebrow.

She could almost feel her son exploding from excitement and relief. Luna knew he was itching to go anyway. "Go to your game. And don't have too much fun." She told him sarcastically, patting his head.

Jr. stays behind looking at the old photographs upon the wall. Seeing the bond that , 'The Imperial Nest' shared among its family. Realization hit him like a ton of bricks, that he must complete his fathers  mission .

"Hey Mom?" he yelled out to her.  "I'll  be getting home late tonight don't wait up!"

Grabbing a handful of cookies on his way-out . Jr. Jumps into his  black Cadillac v16 and takes off to go visit his Uncle and Godfather, Jerry to discuss a plan of his.

Leora led Luna to the basement. They were going down the stairs when a pillar of fire shot out from the side. "Oops. Watch out, sis. This was supposed to be the bar for The Hell Corporation. Hell was hell, and the family was born during the war," Leora explained as another pillar of fire shot out from the distance.

Django Reinhardt played some swing in the background while a pillar of fire occasionally served as his bass. There were scantily clad men and women who swung balls of fire while dancing on poles. Leora led Luna to the bar counter which had rows of Four Horsemen on fire.

"Well, what do you think?" Leora asked Luna in expectation. "I was thinking of burning some cash, to be honest. However, we burned enough of that during the war."

Luna gave a brief nod towards her son and she waved, but he didn't see it because he was busy grabbing a handful of cookies. She sighed to herself and shook her head. That boy's energy was inexhaustible. His voice trailed away.. "don't wait up....."

--

Luna jumped in her knickers when she heard a pillar of fire shoot up. She blinked. "Oh. Right.. Yes," she said as she listened to Leora and followed her around the basement. Luna was getting nostalgic vibes as she looked around. Sinfest would have loved this. She was led to a counter and was delighted to see Four Hoursemen.

As she was being asked of her first impression, Luna couldn't help but smile enthusiastically. "You don't need to burn more cash, hun. This is great! And yeah - wars will take all ya money."

--

After being given a tour of the bar, Luna decided to go back home. It was now the evening and she was expecting her son, BirdPersonJr to return home. But as she walked inside and called out his name, Luna realized that the house was empty and cold. Where is that young man. Suddenly, Luna  noticed a yellow sticky note resting on the table just beside the doorway.

It read;

Luna. Need you at the office - now.

Pyro

She scratched the back of her head, wondering what was up. Even though it was the evening, she would drop everything to help her family. She quickly wrote another note for her son when he comes back home. "I'm at the office. Be back later," - it said. With that, Luna went back out of the house and burned rubber on the road as she drove back to the headquarters.
