The sunlight drifting in from the open balcony fell on Addie's face and her eyes fluttered open. It took her a moment for her mind to cycle through the memories of the prior night and recall where she was... and who she was with. Silvio arm's were wrapped around her protectively, holding her backside tight against him. The position brought a smile to her face. Still it was time for her to go. Neither of them expected more from this than what it was and if she left first it would it would just be better. As she slid out from his arms she smiled that he did not wake and she looked once more upon his angelic face. With a playful smirk she climbed out of bed completely comfortable with her nakedness. Quickly she rummaged through his things. Normally she would not have thought twice about robbing her one night stands blind. It was a part of the game. However, she liked this one. So instead she wrote a quick note on the stationary that laid on the table.
Laying the billfold, minus the twenty dollars, on the table next to the note she quickly dressed and left without waking Silvio. |

Silvio woke up shortly before noon, stretching and blinking. He reached out for Addie and his arm hit only air, so he cracked an inquisitive eye open and found nothing. Yawning, he forced himself awake and swung his feet around to the ground before plodding to the shower. Forty five minutes later, wandering out in a bathrobe, he found the note Addie left him. He read it twice before he placed the note back on the table. Then he tossed a twenty on the bed for the housekeeper before dressing and exiting the room. His first stop was to a local watering hole, where a man with a bushy blond beard listed him a number of information brokers. Who was expensive? Who was reliable? Who was available? Silvio tried to aim for a mix of all three, and he was pointed in the direction of a woman who did magical readings with a set of tarot cards on Fremont street. Waiting for his turn, it was 2 o'clock before he sat down across from Madame Meridian. He passed on the reading, not wanting to know his future, and requested her other services. He provided a name, description, and the times and places he'd seen her. Then he went across the street and drank at a speakeasy for 7 hours. Eventually, someone fetched him. He was half in the bag, and he tipped Madame Meridian generously as she gave three possibilities of Addie's location. Expensive as hell, but he thought the gesture was worth the cost. At 9:30, Silvio dropped into the seat next to Addie's as she finished her dinner. With a wink, he kissed her on the cheek. "It was a fun evening, Addie. Let's do it again sometime. Soon." He left her a business card, kissed her lightly on the lips, and began to walk away. "Also, your dinner has been paid for..." With a smirk, he exited the restaurant. |
