Not What Was Expected Started by: Billy-Mastrosimone on May 26, '19 23:27

It was not long after touchdown that Billy, Lady_Integra, and Addie_Moretti pulled up to Hollowood. Billy stared for a minute as he stopped the car and nodded to both of the women.

"Be ready for anything."

He wasn't sure he was personally ready for anything. He wasn't ready for the fact that the wrought iron was swinging in the breeze unattended. Or the fact that not a single living could be seen. He remembered nothing of this place that was not vibrant, full of life, and love. And now? Now it was a shelled out former place where anything could have been found. It was poetic really that this place, this one place that he felt was home to him, that he dreamed of coming back to had turned into a personal nightmare.

He did not hesitate to make his way into the house though. He had acquired a Colt 1903 at the docks when they first landed, but it was not the same in his hands. Nothing would be the same as the guns he had, that Rora had taken from his body double. Hell, giving them up was the most painful think he could think to do at the time. Now? Now that pain was nothing in comparison. Now he understood what it was like to sit for hours on end staring up into the night sky wishing you could do something and be powerless. When he was young, at least he could run away. He could learn to fight. he could learn to dance.

With that thought he kicked over a piece of a pot that once belonged to a plant in the hallway and looked up above the fireplace around the corner.

"Tegs, Addie. The fucking moose is gone."

He turned and sprinted up the stairs bursting through the office door that once house Bella's private thoughts, and, after seeing the living room, was not surprised to see most of everything missing.

"You always were the smart one." He muttered to himself as he then bolted down the hall to where he knew the bedrooms to be. He began to search frantically for something, anything that would let them know where Aurora went. He came up short.

"Tegs, Addie, you got anything?"

The plane ride had been pne from hell, of that Integra was sure. Between the turbulence and her stomach already doing flips she had been just about completely incapacitated with getting sick. Even the cheese they'd brought with them should she feel peckish wasnt helping at all. If she had to get on another god damn plane for the rest of her life, it would be way too soon.

Her stomach was still doing flips of all sort as they drove the car from the airport over to Hollowood. The place was not what she remembered. Before it had felt like a fortress, an immovable place that could not be broken. Now everything was different, it seemed the empty shell from her memory.

Integra spent most of her time looking around outside. She could see the fair bloodstains, the different shell casings from guns and the story it painted was quite a bloody one. Something had definitely gone on here. Not long afterwards she felt a wave of nausea roll through her as she moved to the nearest stop, pukinv her guts out into the bush. Her nose crinkled and her eyes closed as the after feeling of getting sick burned and made her feel like shit. As her eyes opened again, her hands on her knees she caught glimpse of a familiar sight. The image was something she had remembered seeing back when Aurora and Herself had made a stand against the durdens men who tried to kill them at Vassar. A unique handle that she wouldnt mistake for anything other than what it was. Grabbing the gun and checking it, she noticed it was empty. That explained the clips in this area... as if someone made a stand near this area. Though the outcome of the shooter was to be determined.

"Billy...." she had moved towards the house, having composed herself as she held the pearl handed M1911. There was only one... which meant either this one was lost... or someone out there had the other one... "I found just this one... not two."

Addie looked about in confusion. What the hell is a moose? And what the hell did it mean that it was gone?

Between Tegs puking and Billy running up the stairs yelling about a damn moose, Addie did not know what to do. What the hell was she suppose to be even looking for?

“I got nothing!”

Billy stared down at the weapon in Integra's hand. 'Just this one' she had said. That meant someone, somewhere had the other one. Billy had to take a deep breath. He needed to take a moment to remind himself that could have been anyone with the twin. Someone responsible could have taken it for a trophy, and likely did, more easily than Aurora had it.

"Find a body. At least one. One of the Byrnes has to be here. If not, we move forward to find where they are buried. After that, we assume they are alive."

He nodded and gestured to Integra, and then to the front lawn.

"You take the front. Addie, search the house, I'll take a look out back."

With that he made his way to the back patio, to a scene of carnage unlike that which he had prepared himself for. There were one... two...

It took a few minutes for him to pick up all forty six bodies from the floor. Each covered in the blood and sinew of that which they clung to last. The remains of which had all but been eaten by the animals around the property. Billy had forgotten. How could he have forgotten it was Bella's birthday?

Billy believed in signs, in luck, in God. So had Bella. That's why when he noticed, he looked up to the heavens. He knew in that moment that Bella had made a mistake.

"Forgot to put one in the side for good luck I think mom."

Knowing full well that he would find a place where Bella was buried, he made his way back to the house.

Addie quickly searched the house for bodies, but she did not find any.  Not that she really expected to at this point.  The place seemed to have been cleared out by someone.  As she passed by a window she noticed a guest house out back so she went out there to investigate next.  Once inside it did not take her long to find evidence that the small house had been used recently.

It seemed that five people had spent a night and part of a day in the guest house since the attack took place.  The food in the trash could not be more than a couple of days old.  There were 4 un-made beds, a pile of clothing, 5 place settings on the table, and some chesterfield butts laying on the ground just outside the door.  Seeing Billy heading back to the main house she called out to.  He needed to see this she thought.

Integra glanced towards her brother as he looked down at the weapon in her hand. She watched him take a deep breath, seemingly gathering himself, knowing her own mind itself was still hooked on the worst case scenario. That finding this specific weapon didn't mean anything about who might have been here or who left them here. It simply could have been anyone.

She had checked around the front of the house, not finding much and so when Addie called out from where she was, Integra followed where the sound had come from, noticing the guest house. She felt curious about the place as she got closer to it, glancing around as she stepped inside.

"Anything of use in here?" Her voice was soft, she looked and sounded tired, especially since she hadn't slept much at all on the plane ride over. Mixing that with everything else she had been feeling and Integra was ready to let herself sleep for about a month. She moved about the building, glancing around as she seemed to take in the fact that people had been here recently. There was just one thing that stuck out to her and that was the corner of a black leather-bound journal type book. It was nestled on a nightstand and didn't look to have any dust on it.

Feeling curious about the said object, Integra found herself picking it up gently, setting down the pen that was by it, setting that back down on the dresser. Opening the book she glanced at the pages, freezing slightly as she immediately recognized the handwriting. She'd seen it more than enough times growing up to know it belonged to Alucard. She read over two of the letters before feeling her eyes well up as she closed the book, closing her eyes and taking a deep breath to try and pull herself together again. She planned on keeping this book, wanting to return it to its owner once they found them... because she was so sure she would find them now...

Billy made his way toward the guset house as Addie called. out.

"What's up Ads?"

He looked around the kitchen and immediately he knew. Someone had been here. Correction, a few someones.

He saw Integra come out of one of the other rooms and then nodded to the two women.

"Alright, well, this gives us at least something. I think we might need to split up at this point so we aren't staying too far behind them. I'm hoping this was Aurora, but who knows. I'm hoping on a plane and going somewhere tonight, and you two..."

He reached into his pocket and produced a set of keys, tossing them to Addie.

"...go to Detroit and check out my old businesses and my apartment. I've only got one place to stop. I'll meet you there tomorrow. Don't make any moves until I get there please? We will get back together and consolidate before we make our next move."

He took Integra by the shoulders.

"Tegs, we will find Alucard too, don't worry."

He looked to Addie and then pulled her into an embrace. He lowered his voice to a whisper so nobody else could hear him.

"Please watch over her. She might need it, she might not, it's just for one night. I promise I'll make it up to you tomorrow."

With that Billy pulled back and made his way back to the car.

"Billy wait!"

She closed the distance between them and reached out to grab his arm.  "I just got here.  You can't just leave me and not tell me where you are going?  If something happens to you what am I suppose to do?"

Billy sighed.

"Integra will know what to do. And I'm not leaving you. I'm coming back tomorrow I promise. I'm just taking a quick flight up north to check something out. My girlfriend's family had a hideaway out of the country. I need to tackle both places at once, and I can't risk you being in danger. Detroit is the safer option."

He paused and then pulled out a Colt .38 Special.

"Here. I know you've never really used one before, but Integra can show you how, and when I get back, I can show you too. And don't worry, I have one now that I can use if I need to."

He patted the inside of his jacket.

Integra was silent again as she felt her brother's hands on her shoulder, glancing up at him as she put on a strong front, nodding slightly. She watched Billy's Interaction with his cousin with silence before leaning on the door frame where she stood.

"Billy... Why are you going up there?" She had to admit though she was glad she wasn't going with him on another fucking plane. Just the thought of one at the moment was making the blood drain a bit from her face. She felt sick just thinking of the plane ride they had been on.

Watching her brother hand Addie a gun, she nodded as she stepped forward a bit, her arms loosely crossed in front of her. "I can indeed teach you how to shoot if you want. there's plenty of safe places in Philly to learn how to shoot. If I remember right there's a range or two around here."

"I'd feel better if there were guards to watch you... but I know we don't have any... so you make sure to take care of yourself... Okay?" She watched him closely, feeling uneasy about him leaving to check something else out, it was going to be too far away from where they could jump in to help protect him, he'd be completely on his own wherever he was going... and that didn't sit too well with her.

Billy nodded and gave his sister a huge grin.

"When don't I?"

He tossed the keys to the car to Integra then.

"Want to drop me off at the airport?"
