Emily nodded as she looked through her bags, making sure everything was still there. There wasn't much, but that was easily fixed after she'd gotten some rest. 

"Yes. In fact, I'm going to start arranging the purchase of the house in the morning. It shouldn't be hard to find which bank owns the property."

Glancing up to Gavin for a few seconds, Emily reached into a small pouch and retrieved a glass bottle of pills. She tossed it up softly and caught it again in her palm with a gentle smile. 

​​​​​​"Can I offer you a nightcap? I see the room came with a few bottles of alcohol, but I need something a bit stronger."

It wasn't hard for a trained medical professional to see that Gavin wasn't moving as fast as he had been at the casino, but Emily was also well versed in the pride of good looking men. No reason to bring up anything he didn't want to readily volunteer. 

Gavin listened, leaning against the doorway with his hands in his pockets. He looked at the pills, then glanced over at the booze. It was tempting. She was tempting, and Gavin hadn't been remotely tempted since Bella's death to do anything more than speak to a woman.

He was in no position for a drink that perhaps led to something more. He might even be reading too much into the situation; the girl had just seen someone murdered, after all, and that tended to be a turn off for most. At least their first time.

Besides, he could still feel Bella's hand on one shoulder. And today, contemplating her death, he felt Stella's on the other. Tonight, he walked away with his ghosts.

"I'm right as rain, Emily. I'll swing by the old place in a little while to check in..."

With a smirk, he disappeared around the corner.
