"Of course I will be there and as for trying to upstage Roar I don't think that is possible."  Addie smiled and sipped on her wine.  "She has all the beauty of a roman goddess.  However, I do not promise not to attempt to turn a few heads if it is a sizable affair?"

She smirked and reached for the bottle to pour both of them some more.  "You do know that you are going to make a great dad, right?"

Billy shook his head.

"My dad was shit at it, never knew Nonno, so I don't really have any idea how to do it right. I just know to not do what mine did. I don't know that's good enough Addie. I just don't want to mess up."

He took a sip of the now filled glass.

"Everything I read though tells me I'm going to. I'm gonna make mistakes. I don't have to like it, but I have to recognize them when I do, and apologize and fix them."

He looked to the icebox then.

"Want me to get dessert before the wine is out? Oh, and by the way, it's going to be a small thing. Aurora doesn't want to bring too much attention to herself, what with who she is the daughter of and all."

"Dessert would be nice now."  She watched him get up and head to the refrigerator.  

"Of course you are going to make mistakes.  No one is perfect, but the fact that you are aware and that you are concerned about it is why I know you are going to be good.  You will figure it out as you go and Roar will be there to help."  She grinned as he brought the cheese cake to the table.  "And of course I will be around to make sure the little one grows up knowing how to have a good time."  She winked at him playfully as she reached to cut and serve the cake.

Billy chuckled and shook his head.

"Of course you will. Speaking of which, I enjoyed that place we went to the other day. You've got an eye for places like that, and parties too. Have you ever considered throwing a party of your own? A coming to America sort of affair?"

Addie gave her cousin a flat stare.  "Please you do not have to coddle me so.  I am more than capable of engaging socially with the people of this great city on my own.  You do not need to worry about me cousin.  I will be fine."  She put his piece of the cheese cake on a small plate.

"Speaking of social engagements,"  she smirked.  "Why you have your dessert I think I will just sneak out and have a quick conversation with Charlie."  She got to her feet and grabbed her crutches.  Stopping on the way to the door she leaned over and kissed Billy on top of his head.  "Enjoy the cheese cake."

Billy nodded.

"If you take too long though, I can't promise there will be much left."

He took another fork of cheesecake and made a satisfied noise to tease his cousin.

As soon as the door opened, Charlie looked in that direction and stiffened a bit. The boss shouldn't have been leaving this soon. SOmething had to be wrong.

"What's go...."

He was stopped mid-sentence by the face of Addie. 

"Oh, hello Miss Moretti, is something the matter?"

Addie smiled brightly and it struck her that this was different.  The way she flirted with guys came almost second nature to her.  It was who she was.  This was different some how.  She was actually... nervous.  Where did that come from?

"Nothing is wrong at all Charlie.  Billy is having some dessert.  I will make sure he saves some for you too."  She chuckled and tucked her hair behind her ear.  She was stalling and she knew it.  What had come over her?

"Uhm," she licked her lips and then she charged forward.  "Would you like to go have some coffee tomorrow?"  She quickly added, "Billy is going to give you tomorrow off if you want it so you don't have to worry about that... I mean if you want to and all.."  Addie's shook her head and looked away.  She was babbling like an idiot.  "I am sorry for being so forward, but I knew you would never ask me and..." she looked up into his eyes.  "I mean you are interested in me are you not?  I have not misinterpret the looks, have I?"

Charlie felt his face flush almost immediately when Addie asked him directly.

"Uh... no. You... you didn't."

He shuffled his feet, but didn't look down. He would have, but his training kept his eyes looking around.

"I would really like that I think."

He nodded once, and then leaned in toward the door.

"Boss, I'm taking the day tomorrow, I'll put Oscar on you."

Billy waved from the table as he grabbed his third slice of cheesecake. Charlie looked to Addie.

"Early, or afternoon coffee? My day is completely free."

He raised his eyebrows along with the question, but the rest of his face remained blank.

Addie grinned and her face brighten.  "Let's do afternoon.  Since I left Sicily I have grown to like sleeping in."  In the moment she felt awkward.  What should she say or do.  Finally she just did herself.  She moved closer to kiss his cheek lightly before pulling back. "I am looking forward to it."  With that she turned around and went back inside the apartment. 

Through the door Charlie could hear Addie's raised voice stating, "Billy Mastrosimone, don't you dare eat that last piece of cheese cake.  It belongs to Charlie!"
