A Shot in the Dark (pt. 1) Started by: Katana on Dec 24, '10 03:38

"NO!!!" Katana screamed out as she watched him fall to the ground while she tried to simply reach for him.

2 days Earlier

Katana slowly walked down the street and smiled as she passed by all the shoppers that littered the businesses. She was on her way to meet her date at Paddy's Speakeasy and was running a bit late since she couldn't figure out what to wear. She smiled though as she heard her heels click on the ground as she walked and as she straightened her skirt she continued smiling knowing that it was the perfect length. Too short to blow in the wind and long enough to where the gun she wore on her thigh wasn't showing. A thought struck her as she laid her hands where the gun was. Feeling the silk of her skirt trace it's outline she thought, "What if I need this later." She shook her head knowing that she wasn't going to. After all she was in her home town and it was Christmas time so almost everything was quite. Feeling something suddenly lightly touch her shoulder, she spun around and froze.

"Lovely Katana.." The mans eyes flashed suddenly with what almost looked like red as he laid his hand heavier on Katana's shoulder. Squeezing her shoulder firmly he laughed as he watched her try to not fold underneath him. "Stubborn as always I see, yet something looks different. "Ahh.." The man tugged on her skirt a bit. "Going out I see. Now who's the lucky guy to have a jewel such as you?"

"Leave me alone." Katana took her hand and grabbed his that sat on her shoulder and jerked it off of her. She glared at the man and her eyes showed no fear so he couldn't have anything to feed off from her. She knew not to tell his name so that he couldn't be used against her. She had dealings with this man before and was too smart to allow the one that she loved to fall into any trap of his. Her eyes met his once more before she turned and started to walk off. She had to go a different direction or simply cancel tonight now and even though she didn't want to she couldn't let this man get to her date.

"You should know me better then that. I will stop at nothing till I get my revenge." His voice rose like thunder as she turned back to him and, using both her hands, pushed him hard.

"Listen and listen closely. You can't get revenge on someone that didn't have control of what they did can you? I had to kill them. Now hate me all you want but I had to OK? Tell me do you want me dead? DO YOU?" He knew how to push every button she had and make her shoot off like a rocket. Her voice showed that he had done that quite easily.

"No.. If that were it I would have shot you already. No Katana you deserve worse." Suddenly the man smiled as he heard Katana's name being called. Looking up he watched as a tall man carrying a rose walked up to them and then looking over at Katana he watched as her eyes got big with fear. "Why hello.. I don't believe we have met. Katana has said so much about you with out saying anything at all. I'm Michael. An old... He paused a moment and smirked as he let the word acquaintance roll off his tongue.

"David.. Just call me David." David didn't go by his first name and not knowing this man he felt oddly uncomfortable for a moment and just decided to use David. Something about the look on Katana's face told him that trouble might come from this and all he wanted to do was make her feel better so he held out his hand to her and nodded as she took it.

No words were exchanged as David wrapped his arm around Katana's shoulder and then they turned and walked off towards the bar. David remained quiet till they actually reached their meeting place. Something told him not to ask what happened, but the other part of him needed to know. It was snowing and he watched Katana's face for a moment before he opened the door as she watched the snowflakes fall from the sky to the ground.

"Katana. Are you OK?" He was concerned something was seriously wrong.

"Oh um yeah everything's fine!" Katana pushed the door open and smiled as the warmth from inside met her, turning and grabbing David's hand a shadow standing across the street smiled as it watched the two kiss just before the door shut.
