| Should voting earns cd’s? | Started by: Giovanni_Verrazono on Dec 26, '10 18:30 |

I been thinking; allot of guys can’t purchase CD’s directly through the gods. So I came up with an idea that would allow people to earn CD’s for free while still helping the MR community. Vote for MR and earn $0.01 to your donor funds (that's AROUND $2.7/month!)! Still you must remember in order to see this you must vote every day. Use your CD’s wisely. |

That's true Mark but honestly is this not a better incentive. Also I'm not saying get rid of the cash you earn just add this idea on top of the cash. |

And no before people get on the subject I purchase my CD's from the gods directly; but there are some people whom can't afford to due so, like myself two years ago. (however CD's were only 50k but I love the inflation I make tons hehehe). And really it's only 2.7 credits most wont even live that long and the only way to get them is to help MR by advertising. |

I think that does not differentiate a lot between people who are playing with RL money and people who just use In game money ( who are free players ), this is one of the best parts that I love about this game. There are a few games that I have played and all of those games highlight those who use RL money and give them special benefits. So I thing people who pay RL money to buy Cds for this game deserve at least this much freedom to inflict the Cds Marketplace, as giving free Cds will by the admin will derail people from using Rl money to buy Cds . Just my observation !! |

People i reapeat this is not about if you should pay with RL money as I said before I DO! This is a way to just offer more when voting and to give people something to look forward to at the 1st of the month so if you agree do so if you dont then be sure your making your decision based on the idea and not the market. And like Zero implied 0.01cent is not going to make a differnce yeah maybe but who says everybody will sell them for cash most will spawn IA's to kill. |

I like the spirit of the suggestion as its innovative and further incentivises (sp?) voting for the site which justifies advertising money spent and brings in new REAL players. The problem I have with this site is the admins have already, and very fairly, made it possible to purchase crackdowns via credits with the marketplace so that players who cannot afford to purchase credits with real money still have the opportunity to use features granted by the credit-based economy. I wonder if giving voting a REAL monetary value rather than an MR money incentive if this will take advertising money away from the site developers. I don't think it would be a TON, per se, since you would only be able to earn $2.70, but that is possibly $2.70 cents a month in lost revenues REAL money from the developers. While using money isn't mandatory in this game, some people do utilize the pay for credit features due to ease and ability, and if 11 players a month decided not to pay for credits, then that's $30 dollars a month that the site loses in generated revenue. Don't get me wrong. I like the spirit of the suggestion. I'd be interested to hear Squishy's take on this as far as its effect on MR generated revenue. I'm happy with how they've compromised on the issue of generating money to cover operating costs without making the site pay to play. And because of their good work on handling this, I don't want to see them penalized for making more features that have the potential to diminish their intake. I know it may seem like a semantics change of your original post, but instead of assigning each vote a monetary value, perhaps put a percentage value on votes. People who complete all 9 votes a day have a 100% vote average for that day. Players who have a 75% vote average or higher for each month (allowing room for site failed loads, or missed days of voting) would be given an end of the month MR cash incentive and with THAT money they could then purchase a crackdown. I'm not sure. I don't like posting in any way negative about a suggestion without offering constructive feedback, and I might even retract this all together if one of the admins in charge of finances were to post and give pros/cons to this suggestions effect on generated revenues. TL;DR - I like the thought process. |

and to be honest i think adding this will actualy make the admins more RL money. people like my self will get a boost in compitition and to get a better edge i'll buy more and some people never experienced having CD's and see no need to do so but who knows maybe spending a few freebies will lead to dependency or a bigger want. |

For every vote you get some MR cash, the amount depending on you rank. I don't remember the exact numbers but I think you get 1000 per vote in the beginning and 2000 per vote after a few days of play. This amounts to 18K daily for a not highly ranked mobster. This is well over 500K monthly. For that money you can buy 2 credits. And if your rank is higher - much more than that. As far as I'm concerned, your idea has been implemented and working for some time, just in the form of MR money rewards, not credit cents. If you stash the voting money separately, you get what you wanted at the end of the month. And you can miss as many votes as you wish. And you can buy credits sooner than at the end of the month. More than that, you can use the money in-game and decide not to buy credits at all. For me it's a win-win solution. |

ZeroSeven, it wouldn't be one cent a day, it would be one cent each vote, with some votes occuring more than once a day. |
