In a windowless meeting room completely bare of furniture except for a round table with four chairs around it, sat the newest member of Candor Legal Services. She was being questioned by two fellow members and of course, the boss. Luxanna, Kinky_Roger and CeceliaBriggs. Probably a customary thing to do when the new recruits came in. Alessandra Korkunova wasn't nervous at all despite this being the first time she had actually been interrogated like this. They weren't being hard on her though. The questions were easy enough to answer. Someone asked her about her previous occupation. "I'm a model," Alessandra answered, "...and I have my own modelling agency too. But ever since coming here, it's becoming more of a side hustle now." More questions and answers followed after that. Then all of a sudden, one of the people Alessandra was speaking to stood up with full energy. "You seem good to go. Are you ready for your first job?" Despite the confidence she had when answering their questions, she was taken aback. She just hoped that this first job didn't involve guns - she hadn't had much experience with them yet. Someone would have to teach her soon. "What do I have to do?" A hair tie dangled from Alessandra's mouth as she took a bunch of hair from behind and twisted it into a ponytail. She was ready for whatever craziness they wanted to involve her in. Clearly, they wanted to test her. See if she could really practice what she preached. Alessandra had admitted to having an open mind, after all. |

Cecelia started to circle Alessandra, while Lux and Kinky both held their places in the room. She looked like she was thinking about something for a while, before she returned back to her chair and sat down, eyes staring into Alessandra's. "I've got a friend in Norris Square. He's lost an item that happens to be very important to him. He recently asked me to get it back for him. Of course, it was for a price, but he happens to be someone whose acquaintance I enjoy. This job is rather important, therefore, to me. I would like it done well, and there is no excuse for a poor job here." A pen started tapping on a hard surface. It was in Cecelia's hand. Tapping against the arm of the cushy chair. "Unfortunately, I don't think I can be directly handling this job myself. The local police precinct happens to be run by someone less than loyal to our purposes, and I can't be showing my face there." The pen stopped tapping. Cecelia stood up, and started to pace again. "Fortunately for us, you've come along now. I don't trust you. At least not yet. But I know you're not an undercover cop. They're not dumb, or at least not crazy enough to run someone in here with a background like that. I'll let you prove yourself. But I'll be sending someone more trusted along with you. To ensure some level of security." Cecelia looked over to the pair of her crew in the other part of the room. She raised an eyebrow and gave them both a look. |

Roger sits and listens to the conversation between Cecelia and Alessandra, thinking to himself he's lucky he didn't get this particular task. He sits there adjusting his shirt collar, damn that thing was annoying. He looks at Cecelia. "I doubt she's an undercover cop, but maybe send a driver with her so she finds the right location at least?" Roger chuckles and looks over at Luxanna. |

Meetings and questioning sessions were never Luxanna's strong points, but daydreaming with no one noticing was a skill she had acquired over the many years with lots and lots of practice. There was no way the three others in the room would ever find out that in her mind she was gloriously counting lamps. There were so many lamps to think about and count, so many shapes and sizes, how could there be so many? It was at this point Luxanna noticed Roger and Cecilia were both staring at her. Had they finally seen through her? Would she have to go on a spiritual journey to the East to ascend to a new level of secret daydreaming? It was too late for that right now, she had to act, and she had to do so fast, to ensure they wouldn't suspect anything. Out of nowhere, she jolted out of her chair and saluted while looking at the two that were looking at her. "SIR YES SIR!" She yelled out loudly, knowing that everything went according to plan. No one was as smooth as her. Honestly, Luxanna was just lucky that two words had made it into her brain and at least into her short-term memory: Driver, and location. It could only mean one thing, she was going to be the driver to some location. Now she just had one final test to ensure no one would suspect a thing, as she finally stopped her salute, turning to Alessandra. "So just as a little test, where are we headed to again? It's a crucial test to make sure your listening skills are on par, completely normal of course! Then we can head off right away!" |

And so it was settled. Alessandra's first assigned job - to retrieve a lost item for one of Cecelia's good friends. She wanted to prove her efforts to her new family and make sure that her efforts were not being half-assed. Alessandra looked between Kinky Roger and Luxanna. They shared a quick glance. Alessandra was in serious mode but she couldn't help but not a crack a tiny smile at Luxanna's sudden outburst from her chair. Her soul seemed to jump out right in that moment. Alessandra was quickly brought back to earth when she looked up and realized after some time that she was being asked a question. "Uhhh," Alessandra pursed her lips, "Norris Square, ma'am!" She nodded and was satisfied with her answer. Off they went - back out into the streets again and Alessandra being sent to recover an item. She followed Luxanna into a car. "Safety is the number one priority," Alessandra called out as a reminder. Their seatbelts clicked and the car quickly drove off. As they were already five minutes into driving, Alessandra started to think aloud. "Cecelia didn't happen to specify what the item was, right?" Her lips were in a tight line as she scratched the back of her head. "Should I go back and ask?" This was not good. Her first task and she was already lost. However, luck was Alessandra's side and she realized what this task entailed. No wonder why she was being sent to Norris Square. To talk to the guy face to face! AHA! "Nevermind. Ignore what I said." Alessandra said into the rearview mirror as she shook her head. |
