Through dark forest of the Carpathian mountains, lays homes of the people known as the Carpathians. Ruled by my father Mikhail and my mother Raven Dubrinsky. We live in the heart of the forest surrounded by the gagged rocks of the mountains, my fathers warriors and their life mates living close in their homes getting ready for the grand celebration of my coming of age and that of my vampire powers. 

My father sat talking to his second in command Gregori and Lucian his other loyal warrior about disappearances in the nearby villages. My mother and the other wives decorating the house, while i went out and sat down by the waterfalls. Dipping my bare feet into the warm water, as i laid back upon the green grass surrounded by beautiful flowers of all types. 

Closing my eyes as i relaxed unawares of what was deep within my body feeling a strange urge to eat raw.  A need to tear the throats of people, I only heard talks from my parents as i past their room or study.

"Mikhail, what are we going to do about the beast that is inside of her " this is what stuck in my head, what was this beast why was it in side of me?

I knew it was dangerous to walk in the forest without a an escort from my father's warriors, but i didn't care sneaking out just to go down by my hiding place of the waterfalls. To pick flowers or to swim in the cold crisp water as it caressed my skin. This night, while i sat down dipping my feet in the water. I heard a snap of a twig in the distance, my head turned quickly to the sound and i began to panic. Getting to my feet fast and started to run through the forest, hearing footsteps behind me. 

As I trip over the roots of the nearby tree that was hundreds of years old, a hand reached out and grabs my hair yanking back my head. I could see glowing green eyes in the darkness as i scream, when a face of a man comes closer, I could barely see the features of this man before Gregori comes to my aid and the stranger vanishes from sight. 

Gregori lifted me up into his arms, placing my head upon his chest as he carries me home to my father.  My mother comes to my side brushing a strand of hair from my eyes, she spoke softly "You must stay safe my angel, too many bad people out there who want to do us harm" 

Downstairs in the study, my father growling with anger as Gregori told him of the attack on me.  

My mother helping me dress in my gown of pale pink flounced organza and tulle, with a rhinestone and crystal beading with embroidery V-neck bodice with capped sleeves and matching wrap. I looked in the mirror as my mother came up behind me and wrapped her arms around me, laying her chin upon my shoulder and sighs "My child, forget everything that has gone on tonight and enjoy your birthday celebrations. It will be time to find your life-mate" with this i frowned as i didn't want to find him. 

Over the years i had watched my father was like with my mother, making me blush with embarrassment as he was loved up and very bossy. Then times of him being so protective over her, as she once told me of when they first met. A hunter who was being controlled by a rogue master vampire that had wounded her so badly that she couldn't think straight. Making her think that she was his mate and poisoning her body with his vile black blood. My father and his warriors came in search for her as she laid dying within a old cottage and with two  other human prisoners.  A fight broke out with my father and of the master vampire, who was a friend of his for many centuries that didn't find his love and lost his will to the power of evil.

Gregori and a few other warriors went out to hunt the Master vampire only known as Alexander on my fathers orders. Searching through the local caves until they found one that had magical charms to warn Alexander of  intruders, Gregori walked slowly deeper into the caves as the puppets came out fighting with swords. When each charm was unraveled taking them deeper into the vile master's sanctuary, finding bodies of women chained to the walls by their wrists, clothes torn and throats ripped out. The warriors growled in anger as they killed the puppet hunters ripping out the hearts with their bare hands and throwing them to the floor. Sending down lightening bolts to burn them before slicing off the heads. 

Gregori shook his head as he heard the soft cries of  a few young women that were chained and barely alive. He reached up and gently took them down as each one rubbed their wrists and huddled up to each other scared. Kneeling down in front of them and looked into their minds, finding out they had physic powers.  "Tell me young ones, where is he or which way did he go to " One pointed to the back of the cave to an entrance.

"He w-went out there, he heard you coming and left. He said about a girl that he had encountered. a pretty one but was disturbed by a man " she replied. Gregori growled in anger as the warriors came walking into the area and each picked up a girl holding them close.

The warriors lifted each of the girls into their arms and took them back to the Prince's home.  Taking them to the inner tunnels where they are being healed by the mates of the warriors, while Gregori went deeper into the mountains in search of Alexander.  Finding the other entrance and the weaves disturbed with no sign, Gregori sighed and took flight back into his owl form. Heading back to the prince to give him the details of what he found.

Mikhail growled in anger as he learn't that it was one of his lost great warrior that had gone into the darkness and turned evil nearly four hundred years before. Alexander had vowed to claim the daughter of the prince and had been watching for sometime with him planning and waiting for the right time.

Upstairs in my bedroom, i sat and waited for my mother to reappear with some jewels to finish my gown. Unaware what was happening downstairs in the my fathers office,  my mother came back looking worried and placed the necklace around my neck. She was very quiet as i turned to face her  "Mama, what is the matter? Has something happened, please tell me what is going on"

With a wave of her hand "It's nothing just some girls came in badly hurt and being cared for my darling"

I turned and frowned at my mother, then sighed softly as I could always tell when she was lying. Even though she thought it would be better if i didn't know about what was happening this night and any other night. Loving my parents was the hardest thing going but I would kill anyone one who could hurt my mother..

Looking in the mirror I began to smile as I felt like a princess dressed up. Walking  from the bedroom and went down the grand staircase, this is when I first met tenkai and he was to change my life... The look from my father as tenkai danced with me in his arms, feeling the worries of that night float away. Then dancing  with my father and the other warriors to celebrate my birthday. Never wanting the night to end, as tenkai  whisked me out to the fresh cool air. Chatting of a destiny, that he was made for me. This confused me somewhat as I said I had dreams of a male that comes into my life 

Not knowing much about destiny's, as I sat there listening to him throughout the night. Little did I know things would change even that, family feud between mine and his would separate us in the centuries to come. 

Along with the fighting there was this threat of the hunters and this Master vampire Alexander. So many hurdles to over come and many centuries ahead of me.
