If one of us hears the word Destiny, what do we believe that means. I see what it means already, it can mean a multitude of things to different people. It just depended on who heard it, who was saying it and who is affected by said word.

The word could be something that was just that, a word that was given by the very fates of the world. Only one man did not believe in such a thing and he wished to believe in a much fairer system. Jake knew that much as well, otherwise, what was there? He had to have something to define him as a person, someone that became a man of undefined power in the world he inhabited.

Currently laying in the hospital while his fellow soldiers were out there fighting wars. Well, it was not his best idea of destiny and frankly, he loathed it. All the people that depended on him, the attack on the Marley and the people they had lost due to it. Truly mesmerizing and earth-shattering, they had become terrorists, his dreaming had not been the reality. Jake was messed up and even he did not know how to save himself.

The Doctor's had said that he had tried to cope with what he had done subconsciously, kids, famillies, fathers, and mothers. All those bodies because of him, the reason he wished for a change in this backward society of the rich and poor. Did he even remember what he was fighting for? Family? Was that truly what he wanted to fight for? A father that had abandoned him, while his mother had disliked his passion for wishing to be an officer of the law.

Jacob Peralta did not have the fictional tale of a loving family, heck, they were not even stable. He knew this as much and wished for a great exit, Jacob had gotten that in the form of Erwin Smith and his Eldians, he heard of them. Seeing them fighting the good fight, they were great people and he wished to be in the ranks with them. He gained his chance once the Russians and their leadership came into question.

Vladimir Chenko was a man that had once led the local Russian Mob into a time of prosperity. Now with the recent rumors of him working with the once Gonzalez Foundation, he had been dealt with swiftly internally and replaced by a much more...competent man in the form of Kozlov.

'They were brutal in how they handled him, he had not forgotten that the way he screamed would never be forgotten, it was torture' Jake and his thoughts were clear, almost puking up his lunch at the images in his head.

Kozlov had been an ally to the Eldians, once upon a time, due to Jake and his superior connections at the time. He arranged a meeting between himself and the Russians, wishing to bring them into the fold and just like, he had made them an offer. The Russians would provide security for all armed vehicle escort services, they would kick up a percentage to Peralta, from there, Jake would allow them to certain documents and businesses at his disposal.

'It was a smooth transaction that allowed for a non-hostile takeover, one that I gladly remember and it was not a dream that my mind had made up at the time. This is difficult, separating what is real and what is not real, it is truly annoying.'

Bowing his head in thought, Jake needed to walk around, otherwise, he knew that he would start fidgeting like a kid. Now he really needed his wits about him, otherwise, he would go back there and such a thing was not needed right now. A flash of light had turned on in his mind, remembering something from those dreams.

"Eobard Thawne, just who or where are you?"

Hearing the speedster's name, the nurse turned around with a small smile twitching at her lips. It seemed a bit forced once she heard the name but she soldiered on, stating the name clearly and who he was.

"Hm, I know that name Mr. Peralta, he's a scientist with STAR Labs, it is currently located in Los Angles. He also works with the C.E.O, Barthomlew Allen."

There were another one of those names again, just what was going on? Why was he remembering these names now? He shrugged, knowing that he could talk to the doctor at a later date but he did know that the Eldians would be coming in for a meeting with him. Jake knew that appearing weak would not be best for him right now.

'Even if those that are loyal show you a smile, they could be shoving a sword through your back...the only ones you can trust is yourself, Jacob.'

Jumping, wondering where that had come from. All he could do was sigh to himself wondering when did his life get so fucked up like this? He had been his own definition of a warrior and now he was what? A glorified freedom fighter/terrorist, he had thought they had done so much but maybe they had not...maybe they were just that, devils in the eye of the world.

"Thank you, Nurse, may I ask, is there any other news that I have not learned due to being in this coma?"

The nurse tilted her head to the side, an eyebrow-raising questioningly. She walked over to a stand that held a bunch of newspapers, she picked up the most recent copy. Her eyes widening once she read the headlining, she knew that Jacob would be pretty excited reading this, this was going to be pretty fun to see his reaction
