| Taking on New York | Started by: Petah on Jul 06, '19 14:08 |

Petah was on a plane, just killing some time during his flight to Las Vegas and thinking about the unexpected and abrupt events of the day. The day had started like pretty much any day. The war was finished and everything was back to normal, Rampage was drunk on the kitchen floor, ProjecT was out back shooting stuff... it was more or less exactly what Petah had become used to when he woke up at his new HQ in South Philly. That was until Valencia showed up at the front door bright and early with a large goofy looking grin on her face. She wouldn't tell him why she was there or where they were headed, she just dragged him out to her car where the driver was waiting and more or less stuffed him in the back. A few minutes later they arrived in Old City at the HQ of The Godfather Chairman himself Luis_Patangeli ... Valencia just kept saying to shut up and walk, Luis would explain everything. That was when the two of them had explained that after several meetings and many lengthy discussions it was decided that Petah would head to NY to begin rebuilding the city. He was surprised, it was unexpected for sure... and he was very thankful to the both of them... but he only had one question at the time. Who are we going to send to run Manhattan?! It had turned out that was up to him to figure out, and he only had to think for a few minutes before he realized he knew the perfect man for the job, Garou. The only problem was that Garou had recently headed to Vegas with the former Prince of Philly himself... Aladdin. Thankfully Aladdin was a good friend of Petah's and he was sure if he explained the situation Aladdin would be accommodating. So here he was on his way to Vegas to speak with Aladdin and Garou. Petah was lost in thought thinking back on how things got to this point for so long he barely noticed that the plane had landed already. He collected his belongings and headed to find Aladdin's HQ. The guy had built a huge palace right on the strip so it was pretty easy to find even though he hadn't actually made it out this far for a visit yet. Petah was greeted by the butler at the front door and after a short twenty minute walk through luxurious halls and up countless staircases they finally arrived in Aladdin's personal 'wing'. "Hey shouldn't you be in New York by now?" was Aladdin's greeting upon seeing Petah entering. Aladdin, obviously being a part of the meetings and all of that, was already aware of the news. Petah explained everything to him, how he needed someone they could really trust, someone capable, someone to help him make this new New York as great as possible. Before he could finish talking though Aladdin cut him off... "You're here to steal Garou aren't you?" He said with a completely straight face. "Well, umm.... I was kind of hoping.." Petah started to answer before Aladdin interrupted again... "Don't worry, I expected you to ask actually.. and while I will miss having him here in Vegas I do agree he is the right man for the job." Aladdin then called one of his butler's back over and asked him to go get Garou and tell him to come up here... they needed to talk... |

It had been just another day inside the Palace of Prince Aladdin and his Agrabah Acquisitions operation. The Palace was often busy and with Genie_ always around performing tricks to the amusement of everyone, there was never a dull today. He had been doing his usual work around the scene when he saw one of Aladdin's butlers heading towards him with a stern look on his face. "Come on now, you know I didn't do it" Garou laughed as he threw his hands in the air and pointed towards Abu who sat in the corner acting innocent. "The Prince needs you, now. He said it was extremely important and that you were to drop all other work and head over to see him immediately" the butler growled. Turning to Abu, he shook his finger at him as he smiled and walked over to tap him on the head. "It's fine Abu, I'm sure whatever you did, Aladdin won't be too harsh on me for it." With that said, he made his way through the imperial hallway towards the doors of Aladdin's main office. He could hear talking from inside and gently knocked to announce his arrival. Upon the doors being opened, he saw Aladdin at his desk with his good friend Don Petah sat in front of his boss. Walking over, he shook the hand of Petah before taking his seat alongside him. Aladdin then leaned forward, resting his elbows on his luxurious desk before beginning to speak. "Garou, it appears your services are needed elsewhere. A meeting was held recently with the Godfather council and your good friend Petah here has been given the keys to New York City. In turn, he has personally requested that you aid him in this endeavour and take the reins to Manhattan." He sat there shocked for a moment, this coming as a complete surprise. "Me, Manhattan?" he replied. "If that is what you both wish of me, then that is what I shall do. It would be an absolute honour to assist in the rebuilding there." Still a little shocked, he smiled as he saw Petah looking at him with complete faith in his eyes. "Whatever is required, I will do it and do it to the best of my abilities, you both have my word. When do we head over to get started?" "Right now." Aladdin quickly replied back. "There is a plane waiting for you. Petah has already made all the arrangements and I have agreed to send you. Do us proud Garou and put New York back on the map" With the formalities out of the way, he stood up and thanked Aladdin before turning back to Petah. "I need to wish some of the guys here a farewell, along with a certain little monkey that I actually grew quite fond of. Would I be able to get 10 minutes and then meet you outside?" He made his way out of @Aladdins office and grabbed his things before saying his goodbyes to not only those within the Palace, but also a farewell to the City of Las Vegas which had only been his home for a brief period. Duty called though and he knew that he could never let Petah down. |

Petah and Garou headed straight from Aladdin's HQ to the airport and got on the next plane to New York. They spent the entire flight discussing their vision for NY, this was all pretty last minute and unexpected for the both of them but they would make the best of it. There was free whiskey curtesy of Crown & Cork on the plane and by the time the got all the way to NY they were felling pretty good and were more than a little excited about the adventure they were about to embark on. As the plane landed Petah couldn't help but smile and turn to Garou. You ready for this? He asked. "Let's do it!" Garou responded as he hopped up and grabbed his bag. As they made their way out of the airport they noticed a driver standing beside his car holding a sign that read: 'shit head' Petah nudged Garou and nodded towards the car... Why do I have a feeling that's for us? Petah said as he started walking over to the man with the sign. Valencia send you? "Sure did." He responded casually as he opened the car door for them. Petah shrugged and got in the car followed by Garou. Inside was several more bottles from Crown & Cork... it seemed either Valencia really wanted them drunk or was just really bad at thinking of original gifts... either way they had several more glasses of whiskey as they headed into the city. They only made one stop along the way, Garou's only demand of the trip was that he wanted a hamburger really really bad. Petah agreed a burger sounded good, he didn't want a hangry Garou when they made their first introduction to their new city. They found a nice little burger joint along the side of the highway and before long had eaten, and gotten back on the road... they had finally arrived in Brooklyn. |

It had been a long flight over from Vegas to NYC but the free complimentary whiskey gifted from the wonderful Godmother Valencia certainly made time pass much quicker. They had sat together for many hours discussing their shared vision and the various elements of the foundation which would need to be worked on in order to gain the growth that they hoped for. New York had always been a City which carried many old roots in their line of work and having the blessing to re-build it was certainly an honor they both acknowledged. As they landed and he saw the driver holding his sign, Garou couldn't help but laugh. "She has a way with words for you huh Petah?" he chuckled to his friend as they placed their bags into the boot of the vehicle before sitting down inside. "Ya know. The food inside the Palace Petah, oh you should have seen it. Never in my life have I been treated to such a lavish selection of luxurious goods! We had different platters carrying the most freshly produced items in the whole of Vegas. The Prince certainly spoilt us, not gonna lie there." Hearing Petah mention a burger, he smiled once more. "In general, I would always recommend a good ol local Italian place when visiting New York. Ya know, keep it traditional an all. Pasta and meatballs or a classic Quattro Formaggi pizza would tend to be my good to for that but hey, you know me too well it seems. Since we only just landed, we might as well start out with something a little more popular." He said with a grin. "It's gonna be a long ass day so why not, that's my take on it!" Arriving in Brooklyn, they were greeted by some local real estate moguls and taken to the location of Petahs brand new HQ premises that had already been selected for him. The area was perfect and it gave him a completely central spot in the District from which to run his operation as the new Acting Godfather-Chairman of New York. "I see a bright future for the City Petah", Garou said. "We have been fortunate to get this opportunity and it only shows the trust placed in us both. I have no doubts that you will be able to grow Brooklyn well and I couldn't have asked for a better Leader to have beside me in New York. The City has seen some hard times as of late but there is always a light at the end of the tunnel. We simply need to show people that light and allow it to fully blossom into what we both know it can be." As the workmen began to offload and transport the various inventory items they had requested from Philly and Vegas, Garou raised his head and took in a breathe of the New York fresh air. "It's good to be home" he whispered to himself. |
