Juliano had just finished bringing the last box of what little belongings he had upstairs to his new pad. Juliano took a look at the dusty square footage he had to work with, his eyes rolling across the room inspecting the cigarette-smoke-stained wallpaper, a small kitchen with dated appliances, and the early evening's sunset lower on the horizon outside his two living room windows. It was nothing special, a small decrepit apartment atop a small neighbourhood coffee shop in one of the farthest reaches of the Loop, but this it what would be known as home. Juli let out a deep sigh before popping a cigarette and his mouth, sparking it up and getting to work unpacking his boxes. Some time Later... Juliano laid out his mattress, getting it set and leaving the unpacking at that. He needed some fresh air and he already knew he'd hate being cooped up in this place. Before leaving, he hit the bathroom and made sure his hair was slicked back freshly. He moved with a quick pace in the late hours of the Loop's operation, hands deep in his pockets, eyes half on the path in front, half scanning the streets and alleyway's like a hawk in hunt, for opportunity. The business sector was mostly shut up by this time, but it's a whole other type of business at night. Businessmen of shady disposition and appearance run their corporations long these streets, with their meeting areas as dark warehouses, offices of shady backrooms, and storefronts within the pitch black alley's, save for the barrels of fire every 100 metres. Juliano, thanks to the enlightenment of his Father and his families history, was not ignorant to the roles of these freaks of the night. Some were laughing, smoking and enjoying drinks outside of small cornerclubs and other bars, and these were the Wiseguys. Anybody with them who wasn't having a good time was the enforcers or muscle, and other small-fry birds were tripping between streets and alleys, whispering secrets to each other sometimes. Juliano decided to hang around this little buzz location, hoping he could clue into a sort of hustle he might be suited for. Juli decided to follow one of the birds down an alleyway. He just saw him whisper to one of the Wiseguys, and shoot back for the alley. Juliano kept to the shadows but tried his best to not appear suspicious as he delved deeper into the darkness. He didn't know who he was following or what to expect. Soon enough, the bird stopped, and posted up by a barrel of fire, and I stepped into his light, looking at the man. The man wore a jacket that was zipped up, but looked jam packed with items. He gave me a glance, and a nod, and went back to minding his business. Juli decided to wager that he might be peddling something, and initiated a conversation.
Juliano was able to talk the guy into giving him a deal to buy a whole bunch, and after making the exchange of money, began jamming syrettes in every which pocket he had on his clothing. He kept a spare jacket pocket handy for his newly acquired ounce bag. Juliano returned home and began cleaning out his pockets, lying the syrettes out of the table, and pre-packaging them into separate baggies, marking each one $1000. He chuckled. "Yeah, I guess it's like money to me." His mind was racing at how much money he could make off this load of morphine, having just bought them at such a marked down price, and in order to celebrate and relax, he slapped his ounce baggie down and began finger busting some bud for a good smoke. He was learning the ropes, and he just made his first step to being a good earner. |
