Maffia Returns idea: Inventory system, Weapons/ clothing and exploration.
Hello all, So i have had this idea for a while now and i am ready to share this with all of you to see what you think. So as the title reads it's about multiple things. I will describe them down here in detail one by one. This is going to be quite a long thread so grab a drink and some food and read this while relaxing.
Inventory System: So how cool would it be if each character had an inventory attached to it. In the inventory would be things like this: Head Body Pants (to keep it simple for now)
If you would hold your mouse over an item in your inventory it would show the stats, for example gun: marksman +1 and clothing defence +3. It also should show the durability of the item.
It could look something like this:
Now this brings us to the next topic: Weapons and clothing. My idea with this is different then you see on some other maffia games, where you can buy 50 Aks for example for extra power. No i am talking about a single weapon. These weapons and clothing will not be buyable with ingame cash of credits. Each character will only be enabled to equip one weapon / piece of clothing in one area at a time.
To give you an example: Weapon: Ak74 epic (+ 6 marksmanship) Body: Kevlar vest epic (+6 defence
Legendary weapon/clothing: 10 mil to repair. Repairing time: 12 hours. Epic weapon/clothing: 8 mil to repair. Repairing time: 6 hours.
Gun parts/Clothing parts: As i mentioned before i think that guns / clothing should not be buyable with any kind of money. To obtain these weapons/clothing you will have to start collecting parts for it. After you have collected the right amounts you will be able to craft them. I think to make this work there should be a skill named crafting. The higher you have this skill the better weapons you will be able to make.
Of course legendary weapons require a much higher skill level then epic ones. So let's say an Ak74 has 3 parts the backend, the middle and the front just to keep it simple. So you will need epic parts for epic weapons, rare for rare etc. The numbers could be for example: Ak74 buttstock legendary 30 parts to craft, middle part 30 , Front 30 = 90 parts in total to craft.
Ak74 buttstock rare 25 parts to craft, etc.
It could look something like this:
I think you get the idea, i kept it as simple as possible. Obviously the parts should have different colours then the final product. For clothing it should be more simple for obvious reasons. To give an example: Normal Fitness jean clothing part 0/25. Which means you just would need 25 parts to make it. The crafting menu should only show which parts you own and how many you need in order to make that part. So this brings me to my last topic, the gathering zones. If you want the parts that means that you will have to collect them. There will be different zones with different difficulties, the harder the zone the better chance that you will find better weapons/clothing and higher value for example epic.
Before i go in to the zones the exploration has a timer for each zone. The harder the zone the longer the timer will be before it resets. So for example: Green zone 3 hours, black zone 2 days.
This is how that menu could look like:
Greenzone: (requirements: none) Downtown Description: From time you find your local cop watching the streets. But other then that there is no real danger here.
This zone is the easiest one, you could collect only common weapon parts/clothing parts here. With the strongest weapon being a beretta for. There is not much danger in this zone from other then having a 20% chance of being arrested by a cop watching the zone. 20% chance of finding a normal part wep/cloth 3% chance of finding a rare part wep/cloth Exp gain even if nothing found: Low
Yellow zone: (requirements rank: Goomba or higher) Scrapyard Description: The local towns scrapyard, in this place you should be more careful. This place is often occupied by hobos who will not share anything. They are often aggressive and unpredictable. This place also has slightly more cop activity. In this zone there is a 35% chance to be attacked by a hobo npc. Wack power: 15
30% chance to be arrested 30% chance of finding a normal part wep/cloth 8% chance of finding a rare part wep/cloth Exp gain even if nothing found: Low
Orange zone: (requirements: Rank: Wiseman or higher) Durdens base Description: In this place the durden family likes to hang out, they are most likely armed with simple weapons such as pistols and knives. They don't like any strangers, and it's best to stay away to avoid any trouble. In this zone there is a 40% chance to be attacked by a family member of the Durden family. Wack power: 30
40% chance of finding a normal part wep/cloth 15% chance of finding a rare part wep/cloth 3% chance of finding a epic part wep/cloth Exp gain even if nothing found: Medium
Red zone: (requirements: Mademan or higher) Dangerous neighbourhood Description: If possible you should not try to enter this place. This place is known for gang violence where gangs solve their differences with bullets. Cops wouldn't even dare to come here. Gangs are controlling this place. In this zone there is a 50% chance to be attacked by a gangster npc. Wack power: 45
45% chance of finding a normal part wep/cloth 15% chance of finding a rare part wep/cloth 3% chance of finding a legendary part wep/cloth Exp gain even if nothing found: Medium
Blackzone: (requirements: Capo or higher) Police amory Description: This is the place where the police leaves all of their weapons stored. Since it's quite close to a police station this zone earns it reputation by how dangerous it is. If anyone breaks in to the amory the cops are immediately alerted. In this zone there is a 60% chance to be attacked by a special swat member npc. Wack power: 50
55% chance of finding a normal part wep/cloth 25% chance of finding a rare part wep/cloth 6% chance of finding a legendary part wep/cloth
Exp gain even if nothing found: Slightly higher then medium. Deadzone: (requirements: Capo or higher) Fortified military HQ Description: This is place is outside the city hidden inside the mountains, the base is well protected by military personal. Who stand ready to kill anyone on sight who dares to enter the base. Inside the base there is high gear equipment and weaponry. *Caution is advised when entering this zone! only enter when you are at least heavily protected by bodyguards other wise this zone can easily result in you dead.* In this zone there is a 70% chance to be attacked by a military personnel npc. Wack power: 65
50% chance of finding a rare part wep/cloth 15% chance of finding a legendary part wep/cloth Exp gain even if nothing found: High
To clarify the wack power stands for how much damage the npc will be able to deal to your body guards before finally having a chance to get you instead. How higher the wack power the higher the chance that they will be able to kill you, unless you are very well protected.
This is how the weapons and clothing could be structured in each zone from better to worse: Greenzone: Air gun Rusty old handgun Glock 19
Beretta T-shirt Desert eagle Dusty pants Hunting rifle Cap
Orange zone: Sniper rifle Sweater Smg Jogging pants Mp5 Motorcycle helmet
Red zone: Akm Leather armour Famas Leather leg protection Ak47 Simple helmet
Fara 83 Kevlar vest T86 Assault rifle Heavy leg protection Military helmet
This is how the zones could look like on a page on the website:
At last there is one last thing for me to talk about is the shooting range, i believe that depending on what rarity your weapon is the price should change and the timer before you could practice again should change. Also everytime you train your weapon will get a +1 in marksman instead of your skill itself. To give you an example how that could look like: Legendary weapon (If equipped) 5.000.000 to practice - reset timer 3 days. Epic (If equipped) 2.000.000 to practice - reset timer 2 days
If you don't equip your weapon then it should go back to the old system where it just trains up your marksman skill.
This was made because i really wanted to share my ideas with you guys, i know that adding this would be lots of work. But at the same time i do really believe that it could add more depth and adventure to the game.
I think that's all for now, i hope you could stick through the whole lines of text and enjoyed it at least. Let me know what you think about this below folks. |

Hi friend. Appreciate the work out into this suggestion, but here’s the thing. This is a role play based game. The fancy bells and whistles you’ve suggested have been suggested time and time again. They continually get shit down, as it is a role play game. You can role play these things in your profile if you wish. As someone who has been here for 10 years, I can’t ever see these things you’ve suggested ever coming to light. |

| I can see where you coming from, i could agree with you that having specific guns and parts could limit the roleplay. But on the other hand i think it still could be a nice addition to this game. | |

I feel like we'd be heading down a TornCity type game with this addition and to be honest it's not my thing like Vaelin said its a much debated topic but us oldies just don't like it. The game has come so far already while still maintaining what brings us all back, i'm not sure this would be one of those features that would help in my personal opinion |

| Yeah I gotta agree with the crowd here this game has been the same for 15+ years to change these features would be making an entirely new game. At that point you may as well go play Madia Mateix. Think we need to keep what makes MR, the role play ability that it has. | |
