| A man called Walrus | Started by: Pablo on Jan 15, '11 21:13 |
|
Strolling through the streets Pablo saw a guy on the corner who looked down on his luck. His clothing ragged and dirty, he looked like he didn't have a dollar to his name. Being the friendly and generous man that Pablo was, he introduced himself to the man, offering him a home and a chance to earn some money. To which the man responded, |

While I can understand your point here sir, I can also speak as a person that has recently survived the onslaught of "Hey, need some help?" and "Oh hey there, if you need a family let me know." as well as random invites being thrown my way as soon as I arrived at the Los Angeles airport. Not one of these impromptu offers was from anyone my ancestors knew or had left word with to look after me should I choose to call this place home. |

I'm not sure what's worse. A lowly thug disrespecting a man of honor, or a man of honor running out to the streets to tattle on some nobody. Handle your business like a man. Not like this. |

Yeah ok, I see both your points. I'm not one to hang around the docks offering everyone of the boat a invite into the family, just the odd one two every now and then. |

Jin listens to his good friend intently, after a few people speak their mind, he steps up finally.
While I see your point Ms_Molsen(And Pablo it can be very annoying) this what...Petty Thief? Needs to show respect. Whether it be Made Man above or a Gangster, there were better ways for Walrus to go about this.
As for Pablo bringing this to the streets, I don't see a problem in that.
(OOC: As he's said, I don't see anything wrong with a little RP) |

Other than to get his name out there I see no point to this discussion beyond the debate it has now sparked Jin... And my name is Ms. Molson, not Ms. Molsen. Thanks. |

Ok people lets not get worked about this. I'm not going to kick up a fuss with Family about him, a simple word in the street will do to let people know what kind of character he is. I do this for a reason, Ms_Molson you may remember the name Father_O_Malley? |

Pablo, I apologize for that big ol thing that used her words needlessly. That animal had no right to try and embarass you the way she did. I mean that has got to be one of the saddest things to see, someone so depressed with their own life they try to make someone else feel stupid. Its like hello do you not see the rank? This man is a capo, here in Chicago thats not an easy rank to attain you honestly have to earn that. You know i really cant stand when people respond back to you and decide to treat you like you are a nobody. I very much dislike that beastly person.
However i believe Ms.Molson has brought up something we should look into. Where were you going with this? Since you were voicing your opinion id like to jump on in, if you wouldnt mind my dear Capo. Id like to ask the question, Should a man be shunned for his past sins? Take Walrus for instance, If he found a family and they taught him the way things work could he live or should he be killed?
I can see the idea of forgiving Mr. Walrus, i mean he has never been in this thing of ours he dosent know what a man of honor is. Maybe he has a long lost ancestor who once was a part of this kind of life but if a family took him and molded him maybe he could be a future legend in the mafioso life. Maybe he could go on and change his ways and behave like a man of honor then most people now a days. I guess Pablo since you did start the speech i would like to hear your response first my chicago friend. |

Carrying on the debate which seemed to be getting a little out of hand. Pablo saw the impressive figures of -Premeir and TonyCorelli suddenly appear and join in the debate. Standing there Pablo would have been lying if he didn't admit to himself to feeling a bit nervous as he listed intently and respectfully to the words of these two Dons. |

There's different calibers of Made members around here. Obviously we all come from different breeds. I would have to agree with bocamper on this. |

Just to clarify, I don't really care and it isn't my concern how business is conducted in Chicago. I don't think anyone outside of Chicago gives a rat's tail what happens in that city. My comment was directed at Pablo only, and it had nothing to do with his family business. When I said "handle your business", I meant taking care of the disrespectful punk himself. Pablo came out to the streets to speak of this matter in the hopes that someone else would handle his problem for him. In my opinion, that is the cowardly way to deal with disrespect. I hoped my comment would help him to see this, and he would do what he needed to do in order to show Walrus that he does not take disrespect lightly. By appealing to others in the hopes that someone else would deal out the punishment, Pablo is not going to earn the respect that his rank is due. |

Pablo was merely explaining a situation, that he dealt with earlier, no where in his speech did he ask or appeal for help. Pablo has already earned his respect that is why he is a capo in our city. Coming to try and belittle him in the streets speaks how much you deserve your rank, maybe you should work on earning your tittle before calling someone else out. |

You made a point of saying that Pablo was a Capo because he earned his rank. You suggested that I didn't deserve my rank. You suggested that I work on earning my title. In other words, according to you, I don't deserve my rank and I still need to earn my title. So in other words, I have managed to get promoted without deserving my rank and without earning it. So, yes, you are saying that in New York, we manage to get promoted without deserving it or earning it. |

I'm quite good friends with a lot of New Yorkers and i know they have fully earned their rank, and my family line being a Don Leader in NY, knows he had to earn his rank. |
