| Godfather Marcus of Detroit! | Started by: SyrupWaffle on Jan 16, '11 21:30 |

SyrupWaffle was diligently working away in the office, cluttered and chaotic from the recent move to Detroit. If it wasn't one thing it was another, and unpacked boxes lay strewn about the floor. She'd find a moment or two to deal with them later. Marcus had informed her earlier in the day that the Godfather of Detroit was coming by for a visit. She expected this was to welcome them and sit down and have a chat on how business in Detroit was done. And perhaps to share a sample of the recently arrived bootlegged whiskey. |

I was out on the streets walking the most popular areas, like the Boss asked. He trusts me to give him the goods on where the family can go in local business districts to collect the pizza. After all, why else would the Don be coming to see me? I mean he did send for me...didn't he? Anyway, I had just got done talking to the guy at the Italian Bistro down the street. He owns the joint and makes a lasagna like momma used to make. I was having lunch with this doctor, and had asked him to meet me there. You know in a business like ours people get hurt and I needed to make sure he wasn't the type to ask questions. I think he was a guy that understood the meaning of Omerta. I finish off my lasanga, spectacularly delicious as always, and am taking my time with the house wine when the door blasts open. Glancing up to see who had so rudely interrupted my mean, I recognise one of the boss' men. "SyrupWaffle just called, she needs your help! The boss has been shot!" Wasting no time I reach across the table and pull the doctor up by his shirt: "No time for me to ponder any longer, Doc...you are coming with me!" I drop a $20 on the table and drag myself and the doctor out the front door and into my car. It's only a five minute drive at these speeds but there is no telling how long it took Antonio to get to the Bistro. He's a good kid and he knew where I was. "Doc, I need you to understand how important this man is. There are a lot of people that owe him. You fix him now and he will owe you. Trust me you will be taken care of I promise. Seems you are in it for good now, don't screw it up. We pull up to the building and both the doc and I are on the ground running before the car completly stops. Busting through the front door the doc knows just what to do and methodically sets about his work. Hoping that we've made it in time, I stop next to SyrupWaffle. "I got here as soon as I could. Do you think he will be okay?" She looks around the room and I follow her eyes to see a reflection of the events that happened not more than 20 minutes ago. "Is that the Godfather?" A small smirk appears on her face and I know exactly what she's thinking... "..no...that WAS the Godfather" I turn my head back to the doctor and he gives me a nod that tells me Marcus is gonna be okay. I walk over to where he is laying down, kneel down beside the couch, grab his hand and kiss it. "You are going to be okay, I know it. You know I've got your back no matter what. Congratulations Godfather. Detroit is yours. |

Looking aroound frantically Remus smiles at Godfather Marcus. Thinkinng back to when his father first introduced him to Marcus, he knew that Marcus would get Godfather.
Congratulations Marcus, I could not think of a better person to take the position of Godfather in this fine city. I can not wait to build this city with you, and watch it prosper under your control!
Remus smiles, and then walks back allowing other people the chance to talk to him. |

As Sound_Warnings ushers the doctor out, slipping him a large envelope for his silence, Marcus quickly gets changed. His clothes were damaged and bloodied so badly from the fight with the old man and his entourage that not even a bum would wear them now. When Marcus got back downstairs the parlor was cleaned up, the bodies that had layed there only thirty minutes ago were now gone, as were the scattered pools of human blood. It was like it had never happened. |

Spuff had thrown some great parties in his time. In fact, they were considered legendary amongst some of Chicago's most extroverted movers and shakers. The thing about a good party though is the inevitable mess is the morning. There is only so much white wine that can be spared to remove the stains on the puce carpet from the red, and the import prices were getting rediculous. Paying off Ricky down at the customs office was becoming an inconvenient chore for the acquisition of what was essentially nothing more than a cleaning product. Because of this, he had developed some cunning techniques for dealing with the apocalyptic aftermath he was so very used to after each and every social gathering he held. |

After dealing with the dead bodyguards whose flesh is only beginning to chill McDermott cleans the blood off of his hands at the sink. While drying them off McDermott turns around to the room of Detroit bosses, hands and ofcourse his Godfather. |

Ricketts is cautiously walking the streets of Detroit, hand resting on his Schofield Revolver always ready for danger. The city had been a ghost town since the fall of Ragnarok, and the invasion of Tyler Durden and his crew had left the place looking like a war-zone. This didn't bother Ricketts though, he had seen his fair share of fighting and even though he was a relatively old man he still had a lot of fight in him. |

Roman looks on in pride at Marcus and gives him an embrace.
My friend, what can I say that I haven't already. You have been a beacon to Chicago and I know that now achieving Godfather status you will bring that same resolve to your job in Detroit. It has been my most esteemed pleasure working with you so far, and I look forward to all that your future brings. Well done, sir. |

Iestyn had been in Marcus' family for a short time before going over to Remus' and he had loved his time there. Even after that he still often spoke with Marcus in coffee shops and whatnot. Marcus had even taught Iestyn almost everything he knew. He could tell that Marcus was an excellent leader who was a good Don and he was sure would make an excellent Godfather.
Congratulations, Godfather Marcus! I know that you will do great things with Detroit. |
