We are many generations gone, in this thing of ours.  Names, like shadows, remain, their influence still felt throughout the ages.

But what has changed? 

I have read about Godfathers being in position for two years.  I've read about one guy heading up the whole of organised crime.  I've read about one guy who was such a big time loan shark that he possessed about a quarter of the $$$ in the whole world.

What has changed since your bloodline first arrived on this shore?

I'll start - loansharks used to operate, for real, and drug routes were a lot more reliable.  You flew acid one route, and cocaine back.  If I'm remembering correctly.

And a million bucks wasn't easy to come by.

Mikhail was doing his daily rounds and spotted someone talking about their first bloodline. What has changed even since their first bloodline... Mikhail thought about what his ancestor wrote when they first arrived at Ellis Island and decided to share.

"My great, great whatever wrote in his journals about the sharks and the drug routes. Heck he mentioned that was how you made your living. These micro deals moving from district to district weren't even a thought. Travel was two hours no matter the distance. Training a gun was difficult before the larger magazines. Back then you had one shot, and that meant one kill."

He stopped to wave at his buddy ToiletBrush. That mother fucker was talking to the girls across the way... he always had a way with them. Mikhail never understood why or how. He's a god damn cleaning brush.

"My great ancestor also talked about the leadership back then. What it meant to be a leader of a 50 man HQ. What it was like to run a complete city under a single person. I think I would prefer that now even. Sometimes I feel like these districts are too hard to populate. Much like we've seen with the undesirables popping up when a place doesn't get filled up in time. But oh well. Thats how things are these days."

Mikhail gave a friendly nod to Wayne as he walked by.

"Are there any things you thought you might enjoy back then to now?" 

Mikhail, I remember the cities were easier to get in and out of.  And I even remember when some cities had the choice drug routes.

They were fought over, a lot.  Stands to reason.

I miss the simplicity of the older days, that's true.  These district crews?  Well, I'm not so sure we need them.  A city with leader.

There's stability now, the wars are bigger, but less frequent.

I wonder if City Hall would ever consider different flight services from place to place?
