| Questionable Past, Hopeful Future | Started by: Vader on Aug 17, '19 00:03 |

Vader was rarely in this kind of mood, and rarely did he ever allow himself to stay in this kind of mood. Vader was currently meditating in his room inside of his crew's HQ. He had moved out of his out of his room in the underground base with Mario and into a subtle living arrangement. He was no longer the ambitious and angry, dream chaser he used to be, so he didn't feel like staying in a place like that suited him any longer. Usually when Vader was meditating, he would let himself think on his memories, and focus on the parts that evoked the anger and hatred that he needed. Those emotions gave him strength, solidified his resolve, but tonight was different. Tonight, Vader was in more of a contemplative mood. His thoughts on the past of Skywalker weren't angry tonight, just more thoughtful. Usually he focused on the shortcomings and the failures of Anakin Skywalker, and used them to drive him, to fuel him. They were motivation of what he didn't want to be and how he would be differently. Tonight, he was wondering if Skywalker didn't have things right. The way that he went about life, not allowing things to affect him, as he continued on chasing his dreams. For Vader the same couldn't be said. He was now semi retired, only answering the call of his leader when she needed him to do something for her, in the form of counsel, or enforcing. These days when it came to doing things on his own, he just found that he didn't have the same get up and go or inspiration that he used to have. Vader began to think on that and wonder why. Maybe it was the death of many potential recruits he was working with. Maybe it was just the status of things now. Gangsters running out to corners and complaining about how other people earned their keep. Whining about how people applied their craft and operated in their preferred trade. Thinking back on Skywalker's time, he didn't remember that being so much of a big thing. He knew for certain Skywalker wouldn't have allowed it to affect him so. He got out there and went through things, and even if he failed to do something, or came up short, he'd get up, brush off, and try again. Vader would usually call this his weakness, but maybe that was his strength indeed, and Vader failed to recognize it, because Vader hadn't been able to do the same thing. Vader had become an observer to things going on in the world these days more than a participant. He thought maybe the good days were over, and didn't feel much of a bother to go on about things, instead possibly waiting for the current storm of things to be over. He thought to himself that, that was a good metaphor. He was currently in the midst of a storm of bad times, a storm that he had to endure. That wouldn't be a problem, as Vader knew he had plenty of endurance. He had trained it and constantly tested himself so he knew he'd be able to. Vader suddenly began to feel hopeful. He knew that was an emotion he normally would crush down, but this time he decided to bask in it. He was hopeful for the future, feeling that better days were on the horizon. It may not have even been Vader that got to see the better days, but it was this hopefulness that encouraged Vader to push on. In inspired him at the moment to get up and endure what's going on and get back to achieving the purpose that he believed he was here to do, though he may not belong. So for once since his coming to existence Vader allowed himself to believe in a hopeful future. He then went into his normal trance of focusing on the emotions to strengthen both his mind and his abilities. He would be ready for when he was next called on, of that he was sure, and he wouldn't let anyone stand in his path. |
