Pennsylvania State Penitentiary, PA.

Tommy was standing on the balcony overlooking the prisoners. He had spent thirteen years in this hell hole and would probably spend another thirteen more. He was Twenty seven years old when he came in and now was at the ripe old age of Forty. But when you're in prison time really doesn't matter days, weeks, months, years. You really only do two days. The day you come in and the day you come out.  As far as Tommy was concerned he was halfway through his sentence still serving his first day.

Tommy was involved in many things before he went inside. Robbery, Murder, extortion, racketeering all things that eventually caught up to him. It was a bank job gone wrong. Memories of that day still haunt him. They were robbing 1st National in Center City, his job was crowd control but some guy decided to be a hero and ended up paying for it when Tommy shot him in the head. Then things ended up going worse when the manager decided to be difficult and not give them the key to the safe so they killed him too. With no key they had to blow up the safe, by the time they blew up the safe Philadelphia's finest showed up. Gathering what they could they made a run for it.

Laughing thinking they got away with it. Unfortunately the getaway driver got shot and so did another member of his heist crew. So they had to run on foot. He saw a train station and thought he could lose them in the tunnels but he tripped down the stairs and they caught him. The trial was quick and the family paid the best lawyer money could buy but everyone knew it looked bleak. Eighty years they gave Tommy. If he'd live that long he'd be 107 years old.

Prison was hard at first. But now he lived like a king probably even better than he was on the outside. His cell had a desk and a sofa. Guards would go to him for favors. If you wanted some smokes, a bottle of coca cola, drugs, and maybe even some pictures of nude women. Tommy was the guy you'd call. There were rumors that Tommy could come and go from the prison when he pleased. If someone was rubbing you the wrong way, looked at you funny, or you just simply didn't like the son of a bitch didn't matter if it was a guard or an inmate Tommy would make them "disappear". But being a King in prison didn't come without it's fair share of issues.

When you're a king everyone wants the throne. Tommy walked around knowing he had a huge target on his back. Rival gangs would form and he'd get rid of them others would be headaches like the one he's dealing with now. Richie Spellman was a bootlegger who got caught with a truckload of booze on the Canadian border. Tommy thought Spellman was an idiot but Spellman was proving to be quite a threat in the past week the guards have been giving Tommy trouble and ruining his operations, getting things into the prison was getting harder and harder everyday, and he was starting to feel unsafe at any moment a riot could break out and he'd be dead.

Tommy sighed and then went back into his cell, where he saw his cellmate Brendan reading a book. They've shared a cell together for Ten years and Brendan was Tommy's right hand man. Anything that Tommy wanted Brendan was the guy who put it into action. Like what they were now calling "The hurricane in cell block C." when 10 inmates were all brutally stabbed to death last year. Brendan was the architect behind all of it.

It was now lights out and Tommy looked through the bars at the rest of the cells in the dark.

"I'm so tired. Tired of the walls, the fights, tired of trying, tired of the fear..."

"Relax. Forget about everything else. You've still got me baby."

Tommy kisses Brendan and they make passionate love together.
