Nice to Meet You Started by: Catalina_Rey on Aug 23, '19 15:57

Six years of running up to ten kilos of cocaine almost monthly had given Catalina nerves of steel. There had been a few close calls, and even one near-bust with a pesky customs agent who didn’t seem to understand how things were done, with regards to Catalina Rey. The customs agent met his untimely demise via freak accident, one involving a baggage carousel, and Catalina’s reputation only grew.

Excellent coke, and fearless. So why were her nerves a jangled mess now? Danny Fitzgerald had put her name on his visitor’s list before even 48 hours had passed. Surely the guards had not already gifted him with the perks she had arranged for him? No, he was curious about her, possibly angry. As she changed her outfit multiple times, she steeled herself for an uncomfortable meeting with him. If he didn’t want the gifts, he wouldn’t arrange the meeting just to tell her to shove them up her ass. Or would he? She recalled the fury in him that night, at the fight where she’d first seen him, months ago. That fury had run even deeper than she had thought. According to rumors and old newspaper articles, Danny had murdered a man in the locker room, later that very night.

This should terrify her, but it didn’t. In fact, when she initially caught the word that he wanted to meet with her, a rush of pleasure coursed through her, one no batch of cocaine could replicate. She was going to meet him in person. If only she could decide on a damn outfit.

Catalina emerged from the New York hotel she’d made a second home out of over the past couple of years, wearing a simple, but very flattering, lilac dress. She got into her car and realized then that her high heels were too high, ridiculously so, what had she been thinking? Kicking off the right one, she began the drive that led her across the bridge to Rikers. By the time she arrived in the visitor’s lot, her knuckles were white on the steering wheel of the rental, and she was close to hyperventilating.

“¡Basta!” She hissed at her reflection in her compact mirror.

After powdering her nose, she wiped off her lipstick, then re-applied it in frustration. This was just a business meeting, nothing more. Danny Fitgerald was a prisoner, a convicted murderer, and whatever his reasons for wanting to see her, it would not affect her professionally.

Personally? This was another matter. Catalina checked in through the front desk and walked slowly into the visitor’s room. It was completely empty, save for the one man she’d come to see. Even the lone guard walked out, leaving them in complete privacy.

“Mierda. Mierda,” she whispered as she walked towards his table. He stood, and his display of manners surprised her. Not that he had them, but because she truly had believed he was going to berate her the minute she walked in the building, cursing her for what he might consider charity borne of pity. Slowed or not, her feet eventually took her to the table, though, and Catalina had no idea what to say. She opened with the obvious.

“Catalina Rey,” she said, extending her hand. She’d known he was a good-looking man, but up close like this, with his attention on her fully, he seemed almost unbearably so. Years of fighting, yet none of the telltale boxer’s features at all. Where was the broken nose? The cauliflowered ears? There were no scars she could see. Did he have any on his body at all? Catalina cut her thoughts off like a light switch when she caught herself wondering what it might be like to seek out and discover them all, to trace them with her fingers.

“You look well, Mr. Fitzgerald. Is the staff seeing to your needs, to your satisfaction?” If he answered in the negative, someone would die today, before she even left the parking lot.

Louis, the guard, got word back to Danny that it wouldn’t be long at all before a meeting with Catalina was had. Apparently she agreed right away, it led to even more questions for Danny. Who exactly was this woman? Was she the woman she saw in the crowd the night of the fight? Why was she so interested in him. He was making a bit of a name for himself but by all intents and purposes he was a nobody to people outside of Hell’s Kitchen, and New York specifically. Apparently from what the guard and the man he killed for this woman spoke of, she dealt in drugs, but she wasn’t any common runner or anything like that. Apparently she was big time, and the people behind her were even bigger. Danny knew he was ignorant because he only really cared about him and his people’s territory and what may affect them. This woman was taking care of him so it affected him.

He planned on getting answers at this meeting, or as many as she would be willing to give him. He promised more favors to the guards for them to set it up so it was a private meeting between the two of them. It wasn’t really his style but he wanted to see just how much favor he had with the guards, and how much weight this woman’s name carried. Based on the guards reactions to quickly get it done and set up how he asked, it must’ve been bigger than he initially thought. Even he had to admit just how many of them were on the take and willing to please the woman.

Other than arranging that they would have the room to themselves for a little bit, Danny did very little in the way of preparing for this meeting. Well he did do a lot of thinking, in fact he did so much thinking he felt like Kyle. He shook his head when he made that comparison, if that’s what this fool felt like everyday, then he was glad this was as close to being alike they ever were and would be. He couldn’t exactly groom himself well, he was a prisoner after all. The fact that he was actually meeting with a woman didn’t really key into his mind beforehand. He’d been in here for awhile, and most of the time he was active he was fighting for survival. Always watching, observing, planning, and dealing with drama. He hadn’t physically fought in a few months at this time, but he was always figuratively fighting a battle in here one way or another.

Now that things were calmed a bit he fully planned on enjoying himself and taking it as easy as possible. That was why he moved at this time for the meeting, but he also had other reasons and other requests. Louis the guard came to personally pick him up when it was time for his visit. He chose to go early. He thought about showing up late and making an entrance but he decided there was no need to try and make himself seem bigger than he was. In this instance he needed this woman, so no need to try and play up to something he currently was not, but he wouldn’t be begging either. When he and Louis arrived at the visitors room he went into the table in the back, where he could be against the wall and see everything. It was also the farthest table from the door.

“All this for a simple meeting. You don’t think this is a bit of overkill?” Louis asked.

Danny didn’t miss a beat in responding.

“No such thing lad, no such thing.” He replied.

The guard snorted to that and Danny sat down relaxed. He was content to wait it out in silence, and so was Louis, lost in his own thoughts it seemed. Neither of them had to wait long at all. There was a knock at the door to which Louis rushed to answer. He twisted the lock and opened it. He held the door open for the woman to enter. Danny stood when he saw her approach so he could fully take her in. He was speechless when he first saw her, and it was at that moment, he realized how long it had been since he saw a woman. He wasn’t the most attentive to females with his time on the outside. Sure he’d look and recognize beauty, and he was no stranger to being around them and dealing with them. In the business he was in and dealing with the people he dealt with, of course, women were usually around, and you’d be judged on how you handled them. However, he wasn’t the type to so freely lye with just anyone, regardless of looks or anything else.

This woman had it all, of that there was no question. He had to fight himself to make sure he didn’t stare too long while taking in all of her curves. The way her dress hugged her made that a hard battle to win, but he’d be damned if he’d lose a fight, even with himself. Bringing his eyes to her face he certainly did recognize her as the woman from the crowd that night of the fight. She was even more spectacular a sight in person.  He couldn’t help the smile that graced his face when she looked at him and extended her hand, introducing herself. Danny wasn’t a master at flirting and he knew he needed to remember the situation at hand here, but he couldn’t stop his mind from thinking about taking her hand and kissing it, like he’d seen smooth guys do in the movies.

“Daniel Fitzgerald, or Danny.” He introduced back as he took her hand and shook it gently.

He was a fighter by nature. Fighters didn’t like handshakes. To a fighter, their hands were their moneymakers, so they tried to keep them as protected as possible. He was also a gangster and that was part of the life. Respect, handshakes and all that, but this was a woman in front of him. A real beautiful woman, so he shook her hand gently, as he couldn’t help himself and then let go. This wasn’t a movie, and now was no time for him to do something and foolishly lose everything, he had people relying on him.

That thought seemed to bring him back down to reality, as he was able to gain a bit of his composure back and truly analyze this situation like Derrick had taught him to do. As he looked at her and noticed her looking him over and looking around as well, he recognized that she was a bit on edge. She hid it well, but one of the things fighters know to look for, are obvious tells. He didn’t think she was sizing him up because she knew if it came down to physicality between them, it was a no brainer who’d win that challenge. Not that he could ever bring himself to lay a violent hand on a female. He wasn’t wired like that.

He shook that thought off as he reached into his pocket, and pulled out a carton of cigarettes. He then looked to the woman who by now was already seated.

“You don’t mind do ya?” He asked with the cigarette stuck between his lips.

When she didn’t give any negative kind of indication, he reached inside his slipper shoe, and pulled out a book of matches. He lit one and used it to light his cigarette before taking a drag and letting smoke out of his mouth. He then left the carton and matches on the table between them for her to take one and use should she wish, before taking a seat himself. He didn’t use to smoke, not while he was boxing and fighting regularly, but with his prison sentence and with his trainer retiring on the witness stand, he knew full well, that part of his life was over.

“Let’s be honest, I look like shit. I’m wearing an orange clown suit, and shoes that are about a size too big. It can always be worse though eh? That’s what we always gotta remember. It can always be worse. And please, call me Danny. I don’t know any Mr. Fitzgerald, nobody does. Just regular ole Danny. Or Danny Red if you like.” He said with a knowing smirk, remembering how he came by that nickname before he went away.

“Relax though love, I’m not here to hurt you, harm you or anything of the sort. In fact, this is all thanks to you or so I hear. Having the room to ourselves, the guards being so cooperative, seems your name alone makes them snap to attention.” He said amusedly.

He took another drag of his cigarette, turning his head and blowing the smoke behind him so it wouldn’t go anywhere near her face.

“Catalina. Cocaine Catalina. I thought of that just the other day when I was taking care of your problem. The exterminators exterminated the potential pest that would’ve caused you any worries if you catch my drift. So in return I ask for a meeting to meet this mysterious woman, who’s ordered me to have access to whatever it is I would like. As much candy, booze, ladies, and anything else I can imagine or that can be smuggled. All I had to do was make some poor sodding fool go away.” He explained.

“So here we are. Ask for an empty room and the guards snap to it. Ask for this or that to be brought in and the guards snap to it, and who turns out to be behind it, the beautiful woman who was screaming in the front row at the fight the night I went down and ended up in here. I knew then there was something interesting about you, something...Enrapturing. Is that the word I’m lookin’ for? Enrapturing?” He asked.

He let out a soft chuckle to himself as he took another drag off his cigarette. Once he finished that he then dropped it to the ground and stepped it out with his shoe. He then leaned in closer on the table bring his face closer to the woman.

“I’m just a dumb hood from Hell’s Kitchen who used to beat on people for a living. Beat on them in more ways than one. One who didn’t even finish school, one who comes from nothing, one who isn’t really nothing. So please tell me, why exactly would a drug queen be so interested in helping me out and taking care of me so?” Danny asked in a lower tone of voice, just above a whisper.

He was looking at her square in the face. He couldn’t help but get lost in the brown of her eyes. They were just as mesmerizing as the rest of her, but he was genuinely curious. Both in how she would answer and how she would deal his own gaze and what signs could he pick up from her reaction.

Danny had been assigned to take care of her problem? Catalina’s brow creased as a flare of temper crossed her features, then was masked as quickly as it had appeared. He was supposed to be taken care of in here, not be asked to take risks. Catalina would have to have a talk with the guard that she had struck the deal with, and discuss his ‘efficiency’ with the jobs she’d given him.

As Danny spoke, she listened. The pack of cigarettes was the sole object on the table between them, and Catalina recognized the brand as one of the more expensive ones. This, along with what he was now telling her as he smoked one, confirmed that the guard, or guards, had at least gotten that part of the job right. Danny then uttered the words ‘Cocaine Catalina’, and it was hard to hide her smile at that. He remembered her from the night of the fight, and again from the quick glance across the crowded visitor’s room on her last trip to Rikers, when she’d come to deal with Manuelo. Had realized her name, and even given her a nickname.

Then he was leaning closer to her, and using another word, one she struggled with for a moment before her brain gave her a definition. She leaned in closer, too, closing the gap between them to a couple of inches, and lowered her voice just as he had.

“‘Embelesado’. This is quite a word you have chosen, Daniel. Only minutes ago I entered this room to meet you, and I am already giving you ‘intense pleasure, or joy’,” she said, meeting his gaze steadily. Neither would break eye contact, and several moments passed between them, the innuendos and implications so thick that it overpowered even the huge silence of the room. Neither moved, and it felt like a very long time before she spoke again.

“You ask me ‘why’. The answer is simple. Because I can, and because I want to. Isn’t that why any of us do anything?” She folded her hands and placed them on the table very close to his. The cigarettes had been pushed aside while she hadn’t been looking.

“You are awfully young, Daniel. Too young to be in here, no matter what it is that you have been convicted of. I have no control over the American legal system, I’m not even a citizen. What I am, is a producer of excellent Madrid cocaine. As you know, it’s currency in here, and that currency will keep you comfortable until your time is served, and you leave this place. It is my gift to you, without strings. You may take it or leave it at any time, of course, but I hope you choose to accept it. I have never personally seen the inside of a jail, not yet, anyway. I don’t know what it is that prisoners are expected to live without. Do you have any needs that aren’t being met?”

Another long moment as they stared at each other some more. They were still awfully close to each other, with voices so low that it was as if the visitor’s room was crowded with people and noise, and they had to fight for privacy.

“I am here in New York once every 6 weeks.” More silence. They were playing the statue game, and neither wished to lose it. Or win it.

“Yo también estoy embelesado,” she said so quietly that he probably didn’t hear her, and likely didn’t understand her even if he did.

Danny kept his gaze on the woman  for a little while longer before he broke it by leaning back and smiling widely. He couldn’t help himself, he definitely found this woman interesting. She was hardened in the fact that she didn’t fear the men that she would do business with. He was quite certain if what they had between them was business or something else entirely. From the look on her face, when he mentioned taking care of her problem, it wasn’t something of gratitude or satisfaction. He wasn’t quite sure about it, but if anything, it would seem like she slightly disapproved of what had happened. He could’ve been reading a bit too much into it. She was good at hiding her feelings and emotions, telling him that she’d learn to do so over years of work. Her experience wasn’t the only thing that formed her personality though.

There was a fire inside of her. He saw it the night of the fight, it was what attracted him to her that night, the thing that made her stand out in a crowd of hundreds of people. She had a similar kind of fire inside of her now. It kept her from buckling under the pressure of this situation and this conversation. In fact this conversation had begun taking other kinds of tones, which if he were right about the kind they were taking, just showed how comfortable she was in this situation, which made any other woman uncomfortable. Hell, his own sister wasn’t able to completely zone out in this place when she came to visit, and she grew up in the worst of conditions.

Something else that did seem to catch his attention was the fact that she so openly told him who and what she did, and who she was. She told him a lot of things, he wasn’t sure if it was just blind trust she was placing in someone she didn’t know. It told him that either she was a real risk taker, or she had enough power to cover her own ass in the worst of conditions. She was certainly resourceful, he had to give her that, and she had quite the amount of influence to help her out as well.

So she had helped him just to help him, or for the fact that she felt like it. He wasn’t really used to anyone doing anything for him just out of the goodness of their heart. Even Derrick only helped him because he was valuable, he was an asset. Sure he cared about him more than just a regular soldier, and he certainly let him get away with more than he did with anyone else, but he had proven himself. Danny was certainly curious but he was in no position to turn down assistance at the moment and not that he minded being helped anyway, not from this woman.

He thought about the question she asked him, about if any of his needs not being met. Maybe later when he thought back on this he would blame it on his situation, or his lack of control. Maybe it could be blamed on both, but his eyes drifted on their own to the woman’s lips when she said that. She was close to him, so very close to him, in this empty room, it wouldn’t take much at all to just reach out to her and wrap her up in an embrace and kiss her like he so very much wanted to. He mentally shook that thought out of his head. His eyes drifted down to try to take his mind off her lips, and ironically landed on her chest area. He couldn’t help but let his eyes linger there for a little while before he realized he was only making matters worse for himself.

He fought hard to keep the blush off his face. He really didn’t want to seem like he was losing his composure here during this meeting.

“I could think of a few needs not being met.” He said lowly under his breath.

He quickly cleared his throat and recollected himself. Once he was sure, he looked her in the face once more, leaning in closely again.

“There is something I do need, a favor to ask if you will. I graciously accept the gifts and position you’ve put me in, and I am ever so grateful. I promise I will pay you back when I get out of here. Thing is, I’m perfectly fine in here. Most people will complain about how the food is shit, and the clothes suck, and of course the beds are hard, but understand me Catalina, I grew up in worse conditions than this fuckin’ place. To most people this is their idea of hell. To me, this is but an inconvenience. You’ve made that inconvenience much more bearable, but the only thing I’m worried about is what I can’t take care of outside. To be honest with you, that’s what worries me most.” Danny said growing more serious by the word.

He took a short break from talking and ran his hand through his hair before placing them both back on the table one on top of the other. He let out a loud sigh of frustration as he tried to get his words together.

“Look I’m alright, I can take care of whatever they throw at me in here. But me ma and little on the outside, with me in here they’re gonna need a little help out there. Things are getting tight for them, and I can’t do much for them at the moment. Derrick, my friend and my boss, is tapped at the moment as well. I don’t know if you heard anything about what’s going on outside these walls, but my ‘self defense’ has stirred up a hornet’s nest out there on the streets. The mobsters, the Italian ones,  they been applying the pressuring on my people so Derrick’s hands are tied with being able to help out like he normally would.” Danny explained.

He didn’t really know why he was just so openly discussing his business with this woman, but if he had to guess, it would be because she had done him the courtesy of just opening up to him when she didn’t have to. Also, Danny believed the woman was genuine. Sure her reasoning's and explanations of her intentions might leave something to be desired, but he didn’t ever get the feeling that she was lying to him or setting him up in anyway. Besides, there was nothing he could think of, for her to gain by doing so. With that he looked at her directly once more, with a look of sincerity in his eyes. He didn’t like to ask for help, he was the type to mostly handle everything on his own. It was how he had to be. He grew up with having his provider figure be useless and in the end he did more harm than good. Danny vowed to never end up like him, and to never allow his family to suffer if he could stop it.

So while he couldn’t exactly do anything to stop it himself at the moment, he could ask this woman to help him out once again, and put his trust in her, which he didn’t feel like was such a bad idea. If he turned out to be wrong he mentally prepared himself to deal with the consequences.

“Like I said, right now I’m already in your debt, but I promise should you need another something taken care of, while I’m here or when I get out, just tell me and it’ll be taken care of as soon as possible, and I will make it up to you. But if you’re there’s one thing you can do for me, it would be to help them out with a little bit of scratch to get by until I can get out and get back to earning.” He said looking her straight in the eye.

“Please.” He muttered, now looking down at his hands.

“I could think of a few needs not being met.” He said lowly under his breath. He’d just been studying her face and her breasts before he uttered the words, but he reeled himself in quickly. Catalina had arranged for women to be brought in for him and his friends. Was he not taking advantage? This, paired with what he said next about his family being the ones truly in need only solidified the impression Catalina was forming about Danny Fitzgerald. He was more honorable than most men on the opposite side of these prison walls. Catalina unfolded her hands and placed one on top of Danny’s, there on the table.

“I can do this for you. It will not hurt my feelings to increase my trips or my loads. Your mother and your sister will be cared for while you are here. Perhaps I can assist with this Irish boss of yours as well. I would have to assume he deals guns and not my drug, would this be accurate?” She asked him. Her voice was all business, clipped and professional, but her hand had not left his. In fact, one of her fingers was slowly stroking over the rise of one of his knuckles. Danny answered in the affirmative, and Catalina nodded.

“One kilo would generate a lot of money each month. More than a family of two would ever need. If this Derrick would be willing to unload just one brick, both he and your family would be taken care of. And who knows, maybe he sees what wonderful product it is, how much money can be made, and he decides to do business with me?” She shrugged. It was a win-win, because dealing with the Irish meant taking away from the Italians, who were the ones currently buying almost all of her cocaine. It would be an enormous blow to them financially. Catalina didn’t deal in quantity, she dealt quality. Hers was the best coke in the city, and fetched the highest price.

Louis, the guard, silently re-entered the room and cleared his throat. Time was almost up. Catalina slowly pulled her hand away. She had grown so accustomed to getting what she wanted, but this was brand new territory for her. She had never been in a relationship before, never given herself to a man. She certainly had never been in love, and this thought gave her a jolt of surprise. Was that why she had done all this, sought out this man? If so, she was in for a long, hard ride. 15 years seemed like a lifetime away.

“The guards who are seeing to your needs, I have left them with a long-distance number in Madrid. It is mine, and the most reliable way to reach me if I am not travelling. There is a number to the New York hotel I stay in when I am here, I will make sure that is left for you, too. If you need to reach me for anything, Daniel, I hope you will call me. Day or night, I will make myself available,” she said, standing slowly. Her fingertips rested on the table as she leaned over it, and her blonde hair swayed forward near his face. Lowering her voice again, she spoke heatedly.

“You being asked to do reciprocal work for me, or anyone, was never part of this deal. I will be speaking to the guard that arranged for you to take care of Manuelo. I am grateful that the problem has been dealt with, but know that it was not me that asked it of you, and such a thing will never happen again.” The heat disappeared as fast as it had come, replaced with a genuine smile, one few, if any, got to see. She gave in to the impulse of touching his face, because she knew she wouldn’t be seeing it for weeks. Louis made some more small noises near the door and Catalina shot him a look that dared him to do it again.

“I’m sorry, but the warden is on this side of the building today. Electrical inspections, or some shit,” he said, throwing his hands up in a ‘nothing I can do about it’ gesture. The warden wasn’t within her reach. What would it take for him to be within it? She looked back at Danny and decided it was worth finding out.

Report Post Tips: 1 / Total: $161,616 Tip

Danny could feel his heart beat increase, both in volume and in pace. He felt like he was frozen in this moment, and he honestly wished he could be. He could feel all that was going on around him. Being in this room all alone with this woman, who was proving herself to be more and more a steady woman by the minute. He felt her place her hand on top of his. It was a pleasant sensation, and it only drew him in deeper to all of her. He found himself hanging off her every word, paying the most attention to someone than he ever had in his entire life.

He could barely hide the joy and excitement on his face when he heard she would not only help him, but also increase the amount of times she would be in town. He didn’t know where Spain was, but it wasn’t where he was at, so in his mind it was too far away. Also there was the case that he could possibly have helped to set up a business deal for Derick as well, with the movement of the woman’s cocaine. That might very well be the key to turning the tide of the war on the outside as well. It would certainly help with the cash flow problem. He’d have to find a way to get in touch with Derrick somehow to see exactly what it was that was going on. Either that or hopefully Catalina would be able to meet with him, or whoever she sent.

Regardless he was very relieved to hear that his family would be taken care of either way, if everything ended up going according to plan. He could just take her hand and kiss it was how grateful he was feeling. It was a worry he had since he first arrived in this place but one that he had to bury and not focus on if he wanted to survive in this place. Now it was going to be handled. He really didn’t know what he had done to deserve such a woman like this, but he was thankful to every deity there was for her.

Then before he knew it, the feeling of her hand on his was slowly taken away. He heard the closing of the door, and looked up to see that Louis had stepped inside the room once more. This brought a genuine frown to his features. Sitting here, talking with this woman had made him lose track of time. He didn’t know how long they had been sitting here talking, it honestly didn’t feel that long at all, in fact it didn’t feel long enough, but yet the time was evidently up. She told him that the guards who were around him, were able to get in contact with her. That was another relief that he was grateful she was thinking about. The last time he had to ask them to get in contact with her, the next time he would be able to do it himself.

Then she leaned in close to him and he felt himself freeze once more. She was so close he could smell her and the shampoo on her hair. These things did dangerous things to him given how long it had been since he’d been around women. He settled on just taking in the scent and smell of her and whatever it is that she had on as she leaned close and spoke lowly to him. He figured he better listen to what it is she had to say as well.

He would’ve gotten mad to hear that he had been exploited to take care of something that could’ve endangered him and the plans laid out for him, and he hadn’t even been asked to do so. Instead he found himself pleased, as he could hear in her voice that she was angry enough for him. Now he even found the idea of Louis, getting a scolding quite amusing. Oh how he wished he was a fly on the wall for that conversation. Catalina was once again showing just how much she wished to take care of Danny. While he didn’t quite understand why, he was definitely appreciative for it.

He settled for a nod once she was done speaking to him. It wasn’t until she stroked his face with her hand, that Louis made his presence known. He cleared his throat lightly, and before Danny could shoot the man a glare, Catalina’s head snapped in his direction already. Danny couldn’t help the smirk on his face to see the man’s hesitance. She was now looking back at him with a thoughtful look on her face and Danny found his smirk in place. If there was ever a chance for him to once again gain control of the situation, it was now.

He rose from his seat and came alongside Catalina. He calmly placed his arm around her and his hand on her shoulder.

“Don’t worry love, I’m not going anywhere for the next few years. There’ll be plenty more opportunities for our little talks. Ain’t that right Louie?” He said shooting the man a grin.

Louis would’ve scowled, he looked like he wanted to, but he shot a wary glance next to Danny at the woman, and seemed to think twice on it. He instead opted to remain silent. This caused Danny to chuckle a bit under his breath, finding the man’s weakness in this situation. He couldn’t help but turn his head and place a peck on Catalina’s check.

“I’ll be in touch real soon.” He said to her before he made his way toward the door.

He didn’t look back to see what kinda look she had on her face. He didn’t know if he was happy or mad. In his mind he figured it went over well and that would be what he thought about it until she said otherwise. He wanted to remember her and their interaction today in a positive light until they met again. He did see the look of shock and surprise on the face of Louis, and figured that things would get a lot more interesting when they interacted.

“You can take me home Louie.” Danny teased.

Again the guard looked like he had something he wanted to say, but held himself back. He opened the door and Danny walked through it, with Louis following. Another guard took Louis place in holding the door open, waiting for Catalina to walk through and make her exit. The walk back to Danny’s cell was one done in silence. Louis wanting to chew Danny out, but he knew better than to do so with the woman still within reach, and in the city. Danny, on the other hand was lost in his own thoughts.

They were  pleasant ones of the woman he just left, but there was a bit of mystery of just how this all came about that he just couldn’t fully put out of his own mind. He would have plenty of time to think on it and try to figure out just exactly what it was that drew the powerful woman to him. He fully intended to do just that, while enjoying the life of luxury in here that she had provided for him.
