Ambichous was getting antsy with the summer half over and a touch of Autumn in the air. She knew she needed something to do instead of just sit around and repetitive jobs all day. Something had to break up the monotony, she sat there on her porch swing twiddling her thumbs not thinking at all just watching the landscape and the subtle movements and not so  subtle movement around her.

Then it came to her like a wave rushing towards the beach.

A speed writing event.  Based on images for inspiration.

She set out to find judges and sponsors for the prizes for the competition.

It was a tedious job and at one point she even had someone try to discourage her , but she was determined to see this event kick off. First she placed an advert in the National Paper hoping to garner some support. This brought her a couple of sponsors and one person who may have high blood pressure due the immense amount of salt he ate.  After a a few days of not getting any more responses to her  National Advert, she reached out to her boss Legolas. Who helped her finish organizing the event.

Once the final detail were put into the event she set about setting up the hall where it would be held.  There were several tables placed around the room each with two portable lamps set in the middle and 4 chairs placed around the circular tables.  Paper and writing utensils were also placed on these tables.  At the front of the was an easel type stand with what appeared to be a white sheet hanging over it concealing what was under it.

As the entrants entered the room Ambichous stood at the front of the room near the easel type stand.  When they all were seated she cleared her throat and tapped the microphone that was set up near her.

Achem 

It gave a little feedback that stung the guests ears a little bit.

" I am sorry for that feedback there folks." she rubbed at her  own offend ears before continuing. Thank you all for joining us in this speed writing competition." She smiled and looked around the  room making a point to make eye contact with several of the participants.  Her voice came out clear and solid as she continued to explain how the event was going to work.

This is a writing competition. You may send your entry in any form of writing, a story, a poem , a haiku any form of writing is acceptable.

If your entry does not follow a certain metric such as a haiku it needs to be a minimum of 500 words.  

You will need to label your story with the type of writing it is

General information:

There will be 3 rounds each round lasting 3 days. Each round will have a different image for your inspiration.  Each  image will be posted in this room  labeled image 1, image 2, and image 3.  Once one round is finished the next image will be posted then you will have 3 days to do the next entry. The same for the last image. After the three rounds the winning writers will be  announced in this room .

All participants will need to submit their entry to my private mailbox the address is provided below. 

Note: Do Not send your work to this address, you MUST use the address below.

Label your mail Picturesque so that I know it is an entry.

  I will then distribute them to the judges with your name removed from the entry. This will be a double-blind competition as the judges and the entrants will not  know who each other are.

Should you choose to participate your entry will be based on the picture  that will be hung in this room.

You write whatever it inspires you to. Be creative and have fun.

After the three rounds the winning writers will be  announced in this room .

Ambichous finished explaining to the entrants how the competition would and reached over with her twitchy hand . She grabbed the bottom of the sheet over easel  and pulled it slowly off the painting.

" This will be your inspiration for the first round of writing. You have three days to submit your entry for round one.  Good luck everyone."

 First Painting of inspiration.

She walked around the room watching the participants at various stages of writing. Some were finishing up, others were still in the thinking stage , or at least it looked that way their pages were blank.  Ambichous had decided to give them a few more hours before starting round two, just to be sure that all who wanted to submit something had time.

She walked to the front of the room and cleared her throat to get participants attention.

ACHEM

" You are all so busy creating. Some of you are nearly done, while others seem to need a bit more time. So I am extended the deadline by 24 hours." She smiled as her eyes scanned the room pausing and making eye contact with a few of the participants as she spoke.  " The new deadline for your entries is, August 29 at 00:00. "

Ambichous stood at the front of the room near an easel with a cloth over it.

"Thank you all for participating. Round one is over." She smiled at the writers that were present.

She reached over with her twitching hand and pulled from the easel revealing the second painting.

"Here is your second painting.  your entry is due in 3 days time on August 31 00:00.  Good luck everyone."

SECOND PAINTING OF INSPIRATION

She hurried into the hall where the participants were.Her breathing was bit rapid and heavy as she toted the next painting covered under her arm.

She set the next painting on the easel the pulled the cloth from it revealing it the contestants.

"Here is the last painting. Your entry is due on September 1 at 00:00. Good luck all."
 

Finally Painting of inspiration.

Ambichous stepped out in front of the participants and cleared her throat.

She slowly opened the piece of paper the judges had handed her to reveal the winner of the contest.

She read the name out loud for all to hear.
