| Joliet Jail Break | Started by: Raine on Sep 05, '19 20:23 |

The siren blasts through the bustling Chicago afternoon, children stopping dead in their tracks on the playgrounds, their gazes falling skyward and to the distance. “High alert! Escaped convict! Repeat high alert! Escaped convict!” Blared over the Joliet’s loudspeakers, spreading far into the distance. “High alert! Escaped convict! Repeat high alert! Escaped convict!” It repeated over and over again, shattering a once peaceful Chicago day. Straining against the weight of the fence that he had just cut through, Raine spoked loudly, unable to hide his accent, “Fooking run bhoyos! Run! These limp dick fooks ain’t too far behind!” He couldn’t help but laugh but, then again, he did have a dark sense of humor, “Jail break bhoyos! Get yer arse’s out while the gettin’ is good!” |

Alessandra Korkunova's sweaty hands gripped the steering wheel. Her window was rolled down and she was looking out towards the maximum security prison that towered over her. It seemed like it was purposely built to tower over people - an attempt to belittle the prisoners that were contained in it. But on that particular day - luck was on the prisoners' side. Her car was parked in a place where no one would be able to see her - not even the guards that stood at the front entrance of the jail gates. She was waiting for Raine. In the distance, she could see him running at the speed of light with a couple of other convicts getting chased behind him. She wasn't planning on taking each of them in her car. She only had four seats left, after all. And there seemed to be more than five people. Alessandra pulled down her glasses and peered at Raine from underneath her eyelashes. "Get in. No. Not you. Just Raine. Sorry boys," she said quickly before gesturing to the passenger seat. |

“Sorry bhoyos! I did all I could! Ye all on ya own now!” Raine jumped into the passenger seat with both feet first, landing with a thud. Beads of sweat dropped off his face in the hot Chicago summer. ”Hot it, Lass!” He barked, “Let’s hope you drive as good as you look!” |

She threw a wink towards Raine's direction before locking the doors. Then she burned rubber on the road. She could be a pretty reckless driver. Especially in intense situations like, escaping a jail."Grip onto your seatbelt. You're about go on the best ride of your life." She rolled all the windows down and took her hair out of a ponytail. Her dark brown locks flew in the air as she pressed hard on the accelerator. As she looked at Raine she started to chuckle. The chuckling stopped when she realized that two policecars were coming after her. In the rearview mirror, she could clearly see that all of the men were armed with weapons. She bit her lip nervously. "Okay, now really hold on your seatbelt. I'm about to break every road rule." |

Raine caught the reflection of the police lifts in the rear view mirror, “Oy, never easy around here is it!” He spun on his seat removing his colt from its holster as he did. He gripped the seat belt tightly in his right hand as he hung most of his body out of the window, squeezing the trigger smoothly as he did. ”Where’d you learn to drive, Lass?!” Raine yelled back in as he kept firing, “You look like one of the original runners with these driving skills!” |

"The best of the best taught me. He who shall not be named." She continued to drive like a madman. Her tyres were probably crying for help after all the potholes she just drove over. She swerved along the roads, almost bumping into a lamp post. That would've cost her her life if she really bumped into it. She didn't want to die just yet. The two police cars were pretty far behind now and she took the chance to turn into a side street. |

Raine ducked back in the window, checking the slide and making sure there wasn’t a bullet in the chamber before sliding outback underneath his jacket. He settled into the seat, more relaxed than he rightfully should have been. Stealing a glance at Alessandra as she drove, her hair flowing in the wind. She was as good as advertised, that’s for sure, with enough skill to avoid the CPD and enough sense to know the dark, hidden alleys of Chicago. ”Well done, Lass.” He smiled over at her as he pulled a flask from his inside pocket, taking a long pull before holding it between the two of them,“Care for some? Celebrate a job well done and what not. Or...” he couldn’t help but smile, Irish eyes gleaming, “as I like it, just because!” |

The flask immediately caught her eye and she almost snatched it from him while she nodded in agreement. "Yes, yes, yes! Let's celebrate. Also I think we should probably get out of this car." She got out of the vehicle and took the time to strech her arms. A small yawn escaped her lips and she sighed. She seemed pretty tired after being chased by the cops, but she was alright. Then she noticed a little restaurant up ahead. The yellow neon sign with the words 'Burgers 'n' Such' caught her attention and she looked at Raine with a smirk. She could feel her stomach grumbling. "My treat," she announced happily as she tilted her head waiting for Raine. |

“It’s the least you could do after that wild driving!” He let out a full laugh, probably his first true laughter since he left home. He couldn’t help but watch her as she moved with a quiet, dangerous grace. He was more than content to be out of the confines of the car, even if it meant being slightly farther away from her. Besides, he reasoned with himself, this seemed like a good enough place as any to wait out the impending rush of officers to the nearby area. Even better that he could grab a bite to eat while waiting out the proverbial storm. Quickly stepping in front of her he pulled the door open as he bowed his head slightly, “Lady first, Lass.” |
