Before she knew it, Melanie had a briefcase sitting next to her and an envelope sitting in front of her. Even if she wanted to say no, at this point there’s no way she couldn’t. Nope that she wanted to but she was already kind of committed, plus he did kind of help her out a ton. First with the help in the park, then the hospitality. Really she shouldn’t have even take the envelope but the money... the money would come in really handy. 

She wondered how much was in there, maybe a hundred or two, either way it was more then she had a couple minutes ago. 

With a nod she brushed the envelope off to the side of her. “Well I’m already going back out that way, would seem senseless for you to send one of your guys. Do you really think he will just re-invest it?” 

Apparently Billy knew John a bit better then she did, she wasn’t sure if that was a good or a bad thing but regardless just went with it. 

“Would be great if he did, I’d so offer to come bring this back to you.” She said with a giant smile on her face.

Billy shrugged. "It's what he's done every time so far. Sometimes he sends a little bit back for me, but if you come back, well maybe I split that little bit with you huh?"

He took Aurora's now clean plate away and began to do the dishes.

"I'm sure you're tired though Melanie, we can always talk about this in the morning if you want. Unless you want dessert. We never really did finish our nightcap."

He smiled and looked back from the sink.

"So what'll it be? Bed, or dessert? Maybe if you stay up late enough one of the kids will show up. You never know right?"

Just as Billy finished speaking, Melanie yawned. As bad as she wanted to stay up she knew she needed some sleep. She had a super early flight in the morning, first one out for the day actually. 5:05 am, back in Seattle just in time for the city to wake up. Just in time for John to be moving around the headquarters, probably waiting for the envelopes he sent her to get. He was in for a bit of a surprise though, as she will be coming back with a briefcase from Billy. 

Should get her some brownie points. 

Melanie yawned once more. 

“You know I would love to stay up but I think I should call it an evening. I have an extremely early flight in the morning back to Seattle and plus I’m sure you’d love to spend some time with your wife, without the third wheel being around.” Melanie smiled and shot him a wink. 

“I’ll find my way up to the room and I’ll be super quiet leaving in the morning. Again thank you so much for everything today, big thank you.”

Melanie stood up from her chair and directed her attentions to Aurora. 

“It was a pleasure meeting you as well ma’am, hope I wasn’t too much of an intrusion to your evening and thank you for letting me spend the night.”
