About last night. Started by: Ramon on Sep 17, '19 23:50

The drinks were getting downed like crazy, Ramon was out drinking with a traveling mariachi band he had bumped into in a bar. They decided to take the party to their hotel, it was a wild night from what transpired.

A few hours passes and everyone is passed out.

He's woken up by what feels like a little kid kicking him, Ramon opens his eyes and there's a midget kicking him in the ribs. He sits up and pushes him over.

"Easy there fella, I was enjoying some well earned sleep."

Ramon looks around he notices he is at a floor somewhere with a lot of big boxes and some random ropes, he was starting to get confused.

"Where am I?"

The midget walks off being angry that he was pushed over, Ramon gets up to his feet and tries following but he's already gone. So he decides to have a look around, after a little inspection it's clear that he is in a big tent.

He walks out of the tent and finally he realizes he's ended up at a traveling circus, he just knew he had to go see if they had a bearded lady. He wanted to see if it was a scam.

In the distance he hears a man say "Step right up, see the worlds tallest dwarf." Ramon chuckled as he looked over, it was just a regular sized person, but it was funny none the less.

Ramon walks for a bit when he finaly spots a booth with the bearded lady, he walks up to it and yanks the beard of the lady, and wouldn't you know it came right off!

"Your a fraud!" He says before he notices an angry mob of circus folk coming his way, he started running.

After running for what felt like 30 minutes without paying much attention the scenery, Ramon stops and notices he's not in the city anymore,he just sees field after field and a one way road. He decides to just follow the road hoping someone would let him hitch a ride, after all he was somewhat decent he just reeked of booze.

Car after car drives by him, even the big trucks were driving past him, there was no catching a lucky brake, he was starting to get tired from all the walking he sat down as he watched the cars go by, but by no means was he giving up. He was simply just catching his breath so he could continue, he wasn't even sure if he was walking in the right direction.

It was getting dark outside, Ramon continued walking down the road, when finally he spotted some lights that closed in on him, it was a car that finally slowed down. He looked into the car as it stopped beside him, spotting a familiar face.

Oriana leaned over and rolled her window down, catching sight of someone who looked vaguely familiar walking down the side of the road. Shit- what was his name?

"... Ramon? Oriana. I know I recognize your face from the HQ. What are you doing out here? Do you need a ride?"

She sighed.

"And do you know where I find a circus around here?"

Report Post Tip

Ramon smiled with relief as he saw it was Oriana.

"I could use a ride, I've been walking for what feels like forever, and seeing the direction you came from, obviously in the wrong way on top of that."

Ramon got in the car and looked over at her, chuckling a little.

"I may have been chased out of a circus a little while down the road, I just had to yank the bearded ladies beard."

He smiles.

"You heading into the HQ or the city?"

Report Post Tip

She frowned.

"No, I'm looking for the circus. Apparently "The World's Strongest Man" took out a loan and bragged about never intending to pay it back. Can you show me where it is?"

As Ramon pointed in a vague direction, Oriana turned the car accordingly.

"So tell me about yourself, Ramon? What do you do? Skills? Trying to accomplish anything particular here in New York?"

Oriana paused.

"And... was the beard real?"

Report Post Tip

"I guess I'll be going back there then."

He starts laughing.

"Oh that beard came right off, it was as fake as a bad hair piece."

He looks over at Oriana.

"What to tell, lets see I used to be in a mariachi band, but the money didn't pay the bills so I slowly made my way to New York hustling people and doing odd jobs for shady people, sometime later I ended up in Seda. I mentioned the mariachi band cause I was partying with one last night and I may have had a little too much to drink, that's how I woke up in a circus tent."

He pauses and looks out the window for a little while.

"Do you got a plan for how we can get the money the guy owes us back? Those circus folk are quick to gang up on you if they sense stuff."

Report Post Tip

Oriana drove quickly, regularly letting her eyes wander over the rearview and side mirrors, just in case.

"Sounds like you've had an adventurous life. And had your share of fun- or perhaps more than your share."

She smirked.

"Frankly, I wasn't planning on trying to get the money back. A guy like that gets a loan, he probably spent it all within the first couple nights he had it. Drugs, hookers, drugs for the hookers... expenses add up. I was thinking we'd just send a message so that people know you don't borrow money from Catalina and skip town."

Her smile got wider.

"Do you have a gun? I've one you can borrow if you need it. And how are you in a fight?"

Report Post Tip

Ramon looks at Oriana.

"I left my gun at home before I went drinking with that mariachi band, so if you got one I can borrow that would be splendid."

He cheekily smiles.

"Sending a message, now I like the sound of that. As for fighting I'm sure I should be capable unless you put me in a fist fight with the big guy."

Ramon chuckles.

"As long as we can get out of there in one piece, I'll send em any message you wish."

Report Post Tip

Oriana shifted herself as she was driving, and dropped her left hand down to her side, coming up with a gleaming silver Colt Single Action Army revolver. It had a sandalwood handle that was warm to the touch and it had obviously been well maintained. The smell of gun oil still clung to it faintly.

"This gun is very important to me, Ramon. A gift from a close friend who's dead now. If you lose this gun I'm going to stab you, just so we're clear. If you can't handle that, I've got a pocket pistol on my ankle that you can have."

She shrugged.

"Honestly, I'm not expecting too much trouble. So what do you think? Want the revolver? Or the little gun?"

Report Post Tip

Ramon looks over at Oriana seeing how serious she was regarding the revolver.

"I think I'll go with the revolver, I promise I wont lose it."

He smiles and picks up the gun, admiring it in his hands.

"This sure is a beautiful piece, it must have been a special friend."

He looks out the window and immediatly looks over at Oriana, as he noticed they were closing in on the location the circus was in.

"Take a left, it's just under a mile down that road."

Report Post Tip

Oriana nodded slowly, not elaborating. That was personal.

"There's more ammo in the glove compartment, if you want it. Although if we're doing that much shooting then the shit has really hit the fan."

Following Ramon's instructions, she turned left and they approached the surface. It was still relatively early in the morning, and the place didn't seem busy. Everyone was still lazily getting ready for the day- even the elephant wandering by. With a raised eyebrow, Oriana killed the engine and exited the car. She spoke softly, so she wouldn't be overheard.

"I'd keep the gun hidden for now. Maybe you can create a distraction. Something that'll get everyone's attention? Don't shoot the gun unless you're in trouble, though. Give me five minutes before you launch whatever your distraction is. I'll find the target and make my move when you kick things off. Good?"

Report Post Tip

Ramon decided not to get more ammo from the glove compartment. He got out of the car as the engine was killed, he gave Oriana a look.

"I'll go this way and see if I can cause a distraction."

He placed the gun safely inside his jacket and snuck past a few tents undetected, he didn't really have a plan so it would have to be a heat of the moment kinda deal.

Going around a corner, there he saw something that could be used. A canon they used to shoot fake canonballs into the stomach of this somewhat obese character he couldn't remember the name of. He knew if he stuffed enough things inside the canon and shot it up in the air it could make for a great distraction.

After shoving everything from horses shoes, a couple of clown wigs, a few of the fake beards the bearded lady used and a few empty bottles he found laying around, he knew it should do the trick.

He waited a good few minutes to make sure Oriana was where she needed to be. He pulled a lighter out of his pocket and lit the fuse.

"BOOOM" Through the ceiling of the tent the canon was in every random piece of circus gear flew up in the air, and on the way down the bottles made a little extra noice too. Ramon quickly snuck out of the tent as a large group of people ran towards the tent he was in. Now he was back at the car spotting Oriana in the distance, just waiting for her signal in case she should need his help.

Report Post Tip

It didn't take long to find "the words strongest man". He was at least 6'4" with a broad barreled chest. Ramon certainly seemed like an interesting fellow. She'd wondered what he'd do for a distracti-

BOOM! Oriana watched as various pieces of circus accessories were blasted into the sky. At least two of the tents had been punctured and were falling down as people screamed.

Well, that should do it. Removing a bandanna from her pocket, she covered her lower face and tied it behind her head. Amid the screams and breaking glass, Oriana walked up behind the World's Strongest Man and silently slid the knife from its sheath at the small of her back. Two quick cuts at the hamstring sent the man on his knees. Now able to more easily reach his throat, Oriana slit it before he could turn around.

Hearing the first local screams, Oriana removed a low quality knife and a note reading "pay your debts" from her pocket; she attached the note to the man's head with the knife. Wiping her own blade free of blood using the man's shirt, she sheathed it again and began running toward the car.

As she approached the car, she noticed a pair of gymnasts chasing her. Running, she drew her gun and pointed it back at them, which was enough to get them to stop.

Waving her hand, she signaled for Ramon to get the car started.

In the distance, clowns were climbing into their own car to give chase.

Report Post Tip

Ramon bursts into laughter as he saw multiple clowns entering a rather small car chasing after Oriana. He got into the car and started it up, backing it up in Oriana's direction, stopping so she could get in.

He looked over at her chuckling a bit, scooting over to the passenger seat.

"Get in before the clowns catch up, we'll outrun them without a problem but I wouldn't want them banging up your car as we wait."

Ramon fastened his seatbelt hoping Oriana was a good getaway driver.

Report Post Tip

Oriana winked at Ramon as she slid behind the wheel. Nice of him to give up the driver's seat like that.

She slammed on the gas; the wheels spun for a few moments before finding their purchase and sending the car leaping forward. It was quiet at first as they checked their mirrors for pursuit, but after a few minutes without seeing any pursuers Oriana began to relax, even if she didn't slow down.

"Nice job with the cannon, there. Mission accomplished, as far as the strong man goes."

Oriana smirked.

"You should think about opening a bar or something, Ramon. Easier than drinking and wind up at the circus, at least. You could even get your mariachi buddies to play there. Owning a place like that could help with the, uh, shady dealings you mentioned."

Report Post Tip

Ramon smiles at Oriana, before reaching into his jacket, pulling out her gun and handing it over to her.

"Seems like I didn't need it after all, but thanks for letting me borrow it."

He looked in the mirror, the clowns where nowhere in sight, in fact there wasn't another car in sight.

"Now that's a good idea, maybe I'll open one in the future."

Ramon smiles a little before looking over at her again.

"Thank you for saving me back there."

Report Post Tip

"Thank you for saving me. You returned the favor pretty quickly, there."

She slipped the gun back into her holster.

"Appreciate your help today, Ramon. Let me know if you open up your bar there, huh? I know they're looking for people to open up businesses in the Gotham Park, thing. I'm not really a business-owner type, but I could help you put it together, if you want. You seem like a friendly guy. And you obviously have a lot of experience with drinking."

Oriana smirked.

Report Post Tip

Ramon smiles at Oriana.

"I will let you know if I start something up over in New York, I'll make sure you drink for free my friend."

He smiles and gets out of the car, this sure had been an interesting day for sure. Who knows what tomorrow would bring.
