Cherokee walks out of his Headquarters and steps up to the streets

This has been a very sad day for me and all of Saint Louis. Today I had to make a decision that affected an entire city. I had to see my good friend Joey taken down. While today is surely a sad day for St. Louis, there were many contributing factors to this decision. Godfather Joey has continued to shirk on his responsibilities as a city leader, often letting major decisions fall by the wayside or passed off to someone who it should not have been given to. I love the city, but it needs more dedication from the man who is supposed to lead us, that is one reason why I felt as though the leadership in the Godfather slot was not up to the task. I have seen a prosperous city start to fall in the past weeks and it has hurt me dearly. St. Louis is a great city and this is why I have decided on the new direction we are heading.

St. Louis was once a prosperous city with a strong godfather, and now I hope to return the city to it's roots. Godfather Cesari gave up on us, but I sure as hell am not giving up on anyone. The activity by godfather Joey has greatly waned over the past months, and many in the city have come to me worried about the upper structure. When issues have been brought to joey in the past he has answered in a fiery and livid manner that distanced himself from his friends and family. It was this attitude that has placed our city in danger in the past on multiple occasions. Having a Godfather who cannot think with his head puts everything all of St. Louis has worked for in serious danger. I never wanted to do this, but the fact is that there are no other options left. When I heard that my life was at risk from my own godfather I made the call that every underboss dreads doing. In no means was this a rogue effort, I am completely supported by the crews of St. Louis, and I want there to be as little bloodshed as possible.

Cherokee takes a deep drag on his cigarette and exhales

Many of you may call me a coward, or a traitor, those are your words. I was given the chance to protect three families and I'd be damned if I didnt take that opportunity. Tonight I have given my family, Killer_Jane's family, and LunaticFringe's family a chance at rebirth. I made the call to change our city and I don't regret it at all. As of now, I will be taking control of St. Louis. I thank you all for coming out to listen to my words tonight. I know that this rocks the foundation of what we all have worked for, and I only hope things can return to the way they have been. Today we begin the new era for St. Louis, and I look forward to a new age.

Congratulations on your new position. Here's to hoping someone doesn't decide you're too inactive or too "fiery or livid" or the same fate will surely await you. The precedent has been set.

You always proved yourself whenever called upon in New York. Then you moved to SL and took over duties as Underboss. I can't say much about internal workings of SL, but one thing is quite remarkable. All the CL's of SL have backed your decision to remove Godfather Joey_Cesari, that in it self speaks volumes about your justification for such action.

I hope you get to make right, whatever you saw wrong in Joey's reign. This is on a bitter sweet note, but I am sure you will make SL proud. Congratulations Godfather Cherokee.

Big Fat Tony tries to approach the Godfather when his way is block by some heavy dudes

Whilst I cannot claim to know anything about how these events in Saint Louis transpired, I will repeat what Davy has said previously, whilst we worked with you in New York, you have always proven to be a very reasonable and thoughtful man, one who has the best intrests of his city at heart. You have taken a big step here to ensure your city's prosperity and I hope it will be proven to be the correct move.

Congratulation Godfather Cherokee, I know you will do well, not only by your city, but by other cities by being of such sound business accumen.

City politics, crime and friends never mix and in our business sometimes you must remember that and protect your own, never forget that.

I had heard about some issues here and there for a while now, and I know you were not the only one with concerns.. There is no coming back once you pull the trigger, so for now we must focus on the future and respect the past and keep our eye on the prize.

Tony sighs deeply and opens his window breathing in the warm Las Vegas air taking a deep breath

Never good business for a Godfather to die, so I hope you pickup where he left off and Saint Louis is able to blossom like never before.

Tony hands over a business card with some directions on it should he ever be in Las Vegas and wish to checkout his operations and maybe visit his casino

What shame? What betrayal? I remember clearly that Judas was a traitor and a snitch when all of the followers of Jesus still liked him. By the looks of the "war" last night, it seems as if everyone was in consensus to see Joey go. I have seen no protests from any of the citizens of St. Louis. When a Godfather does not keep his city happy, you can expect to see this kind of thing happen. As Cherokee explained, he doesn't want to see St. Louis suffer, or be viewed as a sub-par city any longer. If Joey was failing at Godfather, why not let another worthy adversary take it by force?

Congrats to you Godfather Cherokee. You have truly earned your position, not been given it.

It is amusing how people talk about precedents being set, do you think they forget we are mobsters, members of the Cosa Nostra? Do you think they also have sufficiently short memories that others have walked these paths before and moved on to great things?
