Don't be a Dick. Started by: RichardWad on Feb 01, '11 00:28

Richard lights his blunt and stands at the corner. After hearing the debacle coming from the crowd, he felt like his words were needed. Dick is needed, and when Dick is needed, Dick spits knowledge

"Ok so an event brought the whole Mafia world to debate. Yippeeee! You know how I'm a fan of great debate, guess you can say i'm one master debater."

Eyebrows from the women begin lifting

"Now don't go on getting to excited with the vision of me curled in a corner with a picture of Whateverherdamnnameis, a bottle lotion and a watermelon. I'm actually here to lay to rest some of the crap going around, so much crap, it makes a retirement home with a stomach bug look like a clean job for the taken."

"So let's jump to the point shall we? Okie Dokie, where shall we start? Only one place no? The fall of Joey. Now granted, a lot of people jumped straight to conclusion that this was a bull crap power move, that the decision he made was only to benefit him, they used Joey to ride to the top just to drop the world on his fucking head, and that Joey was actually an alien sent from pluto and never deserved to be where he was anyways. Yes, within the last 12-16 hours I've heard it all. Maybe the midgets from Siberia payed Cherokee to take him out, maybe he was offered some sexual favors by Killer_jane, maybe just maybe...... It's really no one's fucking business? As much as you may disagree with the move, and as many valid points as you may or may not have, the point is, it's a done deal. It's the Mafia. The one place where you can call someone your friend just to have them sticking you in the abdomen the next day with a sharpened tampon from Ms_Molsons garbage bin that was once used for dipping if I'm not mistaken."

"Please let me share a prime example of how Mafia politics work. Once upon a time there was this CL by the name of TylerDurden, no not the TylerDurden from Delaware, the actual TylerDurden. This Tyler employed a Mafioso by the name of -AphoticProphet- to run his hit squad. One day, AP got word that Tyler was going to be removed by power for urinating in a Funeral home. AP caught wind, and caring for his fellow Mafioso's took matters into his own hands, and as a Made man shot down his protected Boss with his second bullet. After he completed his task, he was granted permission to carry where Tyler left off, sparing lots of lives that would have been lost. Some saw it as a act of betrayal, some even viewed it as if it was an act of a god. Anything sound familiar? Now granted, poor AP was shot in his sleep later that night by a rogue who went by the name of BrunoD, but that's how it works. One minute your amazing, the next you have roses growing from your remains in a wooded area outside of city limits. Evidence shows that act's like these have always occurred, and always will occur. Whether you believe in your heart that Cherokee did the right thing is exactly that, your own belief. I will publicly say right now, that yes at first I wasn't too excited about the events that took place. However, is it my place to state what other cities decisions are right and wrong? Absolutely not. Am I entitled to an opinion? Hell yeah."

"Now the problem lies here, of course if something along these lines occur people get to talking, cause you know, we ALL know everything. Or do we?"

"Yes paranoia is a disease, it spreads like a wild fire if not handled quick enough. The key is to eliminate all the bullshit, and focus what you have at hand, your own responsibilities."

"Don't think for a second that the falling of Joey didn't go unnoticed, and don't think that if it was made out of greed or for own personal desires that it wouldn't have been handled immediately. I for one am quick to fall for routine paranoia treatment, but I vent rather then act. Something i have come to teach myself in time, as will most"

"I didn't come out here to justify actions, or put them down, I came only to maybe silence those silly rumors and show my appreciation for the new Godfather of STL. Judging by everyone I have spoke too within STL, it seems like it was the right one as much as some may disagree. The Mafioso's of the city seem happy with their new Godfather, so the city was obviously in need of a tune up."

"Like it or not, things like this happen, whether for the bad or good is really not a debate in the long run. If we all are liars and killers, who's justifying anything we do on a daily basis?"

"I personally felt like this was a boiling pot of water ready to overflow, and maybe I can just help ease those who feel betrayed by actions that were made."

"The point is, shit like this happens, whether you agree or disagree. If there is a personal lesson to be learned, then take it with a pen mind and move forward. In the end, Joey had an amazing run we can all speak on behalf of that, but sometimes it's just time for a fresh of breathe air, and maybe that's just what the Crime families of STL needed. Best of luck to you!"

Most of us will remember a coup d'etat from TheDean when he took over New York from Deimne along with SpaceMountain. Most of us have flourished under TheDean's leadership of our world and most of us appreciate everything he did for us. Yes, that was on a different scale, but the concept is the same. Grasping power from one who you see as undeserving is not against any guidelines we might lay down. Mafia is a power game, and it's a game of cards. In this case, Cherokee played his cards right to establish himself as the leader to improve on Joey's previous city leadership, for the betterment of the city. Selfish in the eyes of some, unselfish in the eyes of others.

Setting either agreement or disagreement with the actions of St Louis aside, this may be your best speech to date, Mr. Wad.

Mr Bean happened to be in the streets smiling and smelling his own stinky arm-pit when he over heard Richard's speech.  Mr Bean doesn't usually talk, at all but when he does it has to be really important for him to come out and say something.  Mr Bean put down his Teddy to say how he felt about the situation regardless if anyone cared.

Now Mr Wad, uh hmm....OK, Now I don't debate weather or not Joey deserved getting a bullet in his skull or not.  What I'm a little concerned about sir is that not once in your speech about you "mafia politics" did you mention that Cherokee got permission from all the other fellow Godfather.  In mafia politics you definitely need the OK (OCC: In the real mafia you need to or you could be the one who get wacked) from other city leaders-the commission-to take out your boss.  Because if you don't and act on your own accord you are with out notification severing ties between Joey and the other city leaders.  My question is, what if Roman or Whatevertheheckhernameis were in business together or he owed them money?  Is Cherokee going to pay that debt?  Sorry for the "OCC" but in the mafia you do have to have permission from the entire "Commission" to take out a boss even if it's your own boss to take out.

I don't disagree with taking Joey out and my prediction is that nothing will come of this as usual but rules are rules and Cherokee broke a big one.  I have nothing against Cherokee at all now since I recently found out he likes a band that I like hahaha...and he really is a good leader but again,  rules were broken, so what now?...

Donna can't help but be drawn to Dick's speeches. There was something about the way he conducted himself that usually made his speeches entertaining and light hearted.  This time however, she listened with a very attentive ear.  Keeping her mouth shut for a bit, she can't help but respond to Mr-Bean, who was now smelling his finger.  Shuddering a bit, she turned toward him.

Mr-Bean, I do have to give you credit for coming out here and speaking your two cents.  That in itself takes courage that most in this thing of ours do not posess. However, to address your point.....

First of all, city matters are city matters.  The "Commission's" opinion is very important and taken into consideration when dealing with matters such as this, but we as a city decided what needed to be done.  As a whole.  Pointing a finger at only Cherokee is not fair.  We knew there might be some backlash, but the whole city needed change, and that's what we did. We changed things.  And we're going to change them for the better.  St. Louis has a brighter future now than it has in months.  I, for one, am very excited.

Donna drops her cigarette and stumbs it out with the tip of her shoe.

As far as what now?  What now is you wait and see. Donna smiles. St. Louis will be a prosperous and happy city.

Donna turns to her dear friend RichardWad and winks

Once again Dick, good times in the streets.  Thank you.

Well then I wish all of St Louis the best and I give my congratulation to Cherokee.  It's not everyday you see something like this and in fact I'm sure it will be remembered by many as the day St Louis broke free from the chains of an un-fit GF and into the world of accomplishment.

Mr Bean lifts his Teddy bear up to his ear as if it were telling him a secret.

Yes Teddy, we can go have a drink now.  Off we go.

Mr Bean wiggles his way down the street to his favorite pub.

Jack glances at the crowd.

Joey was a good man. Friendly. But in this instance it was decided that he wasn't the correct man to be leading the city. And frankly, when that happens there are only two options left. Take the current leader out, or allow the current leader to retire. The latter wasn't going to happen, and it was the general worry that the city would fall entirely before he was out of power.

Cherokee is a good leader. He didn't take Joey out for the power, he did it for the love of the city. He did it with our blessing and encouragement. We understood that the regime change was necessary for us to prosper once more.

I look forward to working closely with the new Godfather of STL.

Taking a stroll down the streets Pablo hears the debate regarding the take-down of St Louis Godfather Joey_Cesari still going strong. Seeing Don Dick across the street surrounded by a gathering crowd Pablo wonders over to hear he has to say on the subject.

"To me fact that no one from St. Louis has spoke a word of objection against the move speaks volumes. If you do not have the support and respect of your city as a Godfather then you are not fit for purpose surely"

Report Post Tip

You dont need anyones approval to make a power move around here. Cherokee of all people would have been aware if Joey had unpaid buisness with other cities. Clearly by the fact that the new Godfather of St. Louis is still live shows the other cities Godfathers had no problem with this move.

Report Post Tip

It's quite clear that this move was maybe not sanctioned but at least approved of after the fact. Otherwise we would have seen a lot more bloodshed on our streets. Obviously the city of STl would have been destroyed if the other Godfathers had not agreed.

As has been said before our society is ever changing, some cities change things subtlty where as others do it with full publicity. While Godfather Cesari helped to shape STL, it is now up to Godfather Cherokee to guide it through this transition. I hope to see good things coming out of what was a quiet city. Hopefully this new leadership will breath life onto it's streets.
