Addie thanked the Stewardess and quickly climbed the stairs.  "No I have never been one for having the gift of earning.  My skills lie in other areas.  The Don on the other hand seems to be able to find it growing on trees or something.  By the way, I would not ever dice with him if you are given the opportunity.  People have lost fortunes doing that."  She chuckled and ducked onto the plane.

Once inside she speaks to the captain who is in the pit.  "Captain, as soon as the last of my men arrive I want to be in the air."

The captain nodded, "Yes ma'am we will be ready.  Our ETA is expected to be two hours."

"Good."  Addie made her way to the back to the main cabin and took a seat.  Once Adolph_Thornton were situated, another stewardess asked if they would like a drink.  Addie declined.  

"You need not worry though Mr.  Thornton, while the plane is not mine, the captain and crew are on my payroll.  You can speak freely around them."

Within a few minutes the last car arrives and two more men arrive and load several boxes onto the underneath side of the airplane.  Then they board and the airplane begins to taxi to the runway.

"Have you ever flown before?"

Adolph was take aback by the rather luxurious interior of the plane, it had a few rows of seats before a curtain where the "VIP" of the VIP's sat.. Crazy.. he thought to himself as he continued to follow Addie to this section of the plane.. He quickly sat down and stared out the window... The stewardess came and went, and Adolph continued to listen to Addie before he was given a chance to speak..

"Could have fooled me Miss.." he said with a chuckle in reference to it being not her plane

"I will take your advice and stay away from dice with the Don, I already kick enough up in points to him as it is!"

He only requested a drink of whiskey, if it were plausible, from the stewardess, who smiled and quickly fetched his drink..

"I have flown before.. just not in style like this!"

He took a sip off the drink the lady just brought back to him as the pilot announced that the last remaining passengers had boarded.. Everyone was asked to buckle their seatbelts as the plane began to take off.. Next stop.. Philly..

The flight to Philly did not take very long and within a few hours Addie had her team in place and awaiting the arrival of Jim Riley.  Having been on his boat before it left New York, she was able to get the dock master a detail description and the name  of the boat.  There would be men with binoculars scanning the bay looking for it, and they should have ample time to lay the trap.

Addie kept the plan simple.  Simple was often better as it minimized the chance of errors in executing it.  They would pose as dock workers until the boat had tied itself off to the dock, then Adolph_Thornton and herself would rush the boat with two men behind them for backup.  As a precaution she had also placed two men on a boat in the bay and two men on shore at the dock's entry way to cut off any exit route should they fail in capturing Jim on the boat.

Her orders had been clear.  He was to be take alive if at all possible.  He had information that they needed.

Addie stuffed a few wayward strands of hair back up into her cap.  She needed to look as much as she could like a man so as not to blow her cover as a dock worker.  Looking over at Jim as he stacked some boxes she asked him, "Are you comfortable with the plan?  I know we will be the ones in the greatest amount of danger.  After all we think he is alone, but it is not impossible that he did not pick someone up along the way."

Adolph felt kind of funny wearing these dock workers clothes.. He knew it was all part of the plan.. disguise and all.. but man they were absolutely atrocious to be seen in, he couldn't wait to change back into his suit once this was all done..

The plan was set in motion, the group discussed it a few times before Addie threw on her cap and tucked in her hair.. Dolph stood by being observant as usual, and keeping a lookout for any trouble.. Addie asked one more time if everyone was clear on the plan, Dolph nodded to her when she glanced his way..

"Good"

She replied before turning her attention to Jim Riley and asked him.. Dolph pulled a marijuana cigarette and ignited it as he stepped away from the group a bit to smoke.. He was still within earshot of Addie as he looked out over the dockyards and took in the scenery..

It had been six hours navigating and he had finally found his damned port. As he pulled in he saw a few folks grumble and get up from smoking, or drinking, or dicing. Every port was the same, a bunch of guys waited around until a ship pulled in, then they unloaded it and went back to taking as much time off as they could. It was not in any way an efficient way to run things. Still, it was the way it was done, so he waved toward them.

"Come on up, I've got a decent shipment coming in and I've got a place to deliver it too!"

He nodded and headed toward the back of the ship to check the address he had been given one more time.

Addie made eye contact with Adolph and gave the slightest nod of her head to green light the plan.  Fortune was working in their favor when Jim turned his back to them.  He would not be able to identify her to soon.  It had been her fear that he would see her and recognize her as the woman who had nearly apprehended him in New York.  

Hopping onto the boat she pulled her gun that had been holstered at the small of her back.

Was it really going to be this simple?

Leveling the gun at him she spoke loud enough for him to hear, "Jim Riley, don't turn around and put your hands up in the air.  I have a gun leveled at you and I will kill you if you do not do as I say."  As if to emphases her point she cocked the gun.

Dolph through his blunt into the ocean and followed behind Addie. Things were going way to smooth and it got Dolph feeling a bit tense.. It was a short walk before they were on the deck of the ship where Addie drew her weapon on Jim.. Dolph pulled his own piece and held it low as he scanned the surrounding for another threat..

There's no way this Riley fella was here by himself.. he thought to himself..

Jim did exactly as he was told, he put his hands up and he did not turn around, he never took his eyes off the box in front of him though, not for a second. He did listen closely as the footsteps of another person landed on the deck. That meant she had company, but it sounded like it was just those two. That would be good.

"So, do what do I owe the pleasure of gunpoint? I mean, I'm sure I've pissed you off in the past, just not sure how bad. Would you like to clue me in doll?"

John, Tom, and Bill watched as Jim was held at gunpoint. There was some dame doing the holding though, and she seemed to not have too much help. The three of them could probably take the other guy on. "Alright boys, simple dock worker remember? Just a guy going to unload the cargo, if they give you trouble, pretend not to want to deal with it. I'll take care of the rest."

It wasn't until they were almost already at the boat that Tom finally made eye contact with the prick protecting the dumb dame. "Hey uh buddy, what the hell's goin' on? You gonna help unload this shit or what?" He grumbled, just loud enough for the other man to hear, something racially motivated, hoping to set the guy off.

Dolph tried to hide the pistol from view as he was called out to from the side.. He couldn't exactly hear what the guy said but it sounded like-

"Yo, what the fuck did you just call me homie??"

Dolph stuck the pistol in his back waistband again and tried to continue on with the plan of blending in as a dockworker as he glanced between Addie who was still holding the man at gunpoint, and the the other workers on the end of the boat..

"You boys can just unload that shit yoself with that kinda muhfucking language.."

Dolph was a bit enraged but he was trying not to leave Addie's side as he was her only protection.

Tom shrugged. "Alright, get the fuck out of our way then." He put stress on the word 'our' and his two companions made a show of stepping forward. It was one against three, if this guy knew what was good for him, he was about to move. That's when John spoke up.

"Hey lady, you shouldn't be on the boat. Don't you know it's bad luck for a woman to be on a boat?" Then he made a loud gasp and raised his voice so that there was no way the foreman didn't hear him. "IS THAT A GUN?! YOU GONNA KILL THAT GUY?!"

"You will find out all you need to know shortly.  For now, get on your knees."

Addie heard what sounded like some other dock workers approaching.  Were they actual dock workers or did they work with Jim like Gentry did.  Either way she did not care about them.  Her intended target was right in front of her.  He was all that mattered to her.  

Adolph tried to play it cool, but the men were a complication Addie did not want around.  Raising her voice she spoke to the men that had approached the boat without looking away from Jim's back, "Gentlemen for all I know you are indeed just a few guys looking to do your job.  This does not concern you and if you report to the dock master he will see that you are compensated for whatever revenue you may be missing out on by not unloading this ship.  If you are not who you appear to be, than Perin and Rand -- the two guys who are no doubt behind you with guns drawn -- will help fit you for cement shoes and take you on a long walk off a short pier."

Addie hoped beyond hope that the men were smart.  Even if they were in league with Jim, she was providing them a way out of this mess that included receiving a payment for their troubles.  If they were hired thugs like she was betting on, than they would be more concerned with their own hides.  If they were the more loyal sort...  Well let's just say she was glad she had thought to have Rand and Perin hang back just in case Jim had 'friends' hanging about.

"Mr. Riley I will not ask you again.  "Get on your knees.  Now!"

Adolph continued to stare down the dock workers who either were deaf or they just plain weren't going to leave.. Still enraged by their comment he started to walk towards them..

"You heard the lady.. clear out!" he yelled at them as he got closer but the men stood their ground

"I ain't gonna warn yall again.."

Dolph bundled up his fist in preparation for a fist fight..

Jim did as he was told, dropped to his knees. He wanted to fall forward just a bit, but as he dropped he heard the men move and gunshots ring out. It was quick, but when he glanced he saw one of his men in a fistfight, looking like he was getting his ass kicked. One dead, and the other one had a gun out and had shot one of the lady's men. So it was now down to three on three, and his side was losing, and he was all but tied up. Him and his men were going to lose.

"Well, seems like they can't keep calm, how about you Addie? Can you keep calm, or do you have a Sicilian temper too?" He shook his head. "You know for a fact that I wasn't involved in anything except for doing my job. It's a dangerous job sure, and it lets other people do dangerous and shitty things, but I don't do those things. You've ordered people to do things before. I've never ordered folks to do what they did, between you and me, you're way worse than I am. I'm just a smuggler."

He shrugged what little he could in his situation and then waited for her reply.

Tom had moved on the guy just as he was coming down from the boat. He didn't anticipate how fast he was going to be, and rubbed at his jaw while he staggered back. That's when he heard the gunshots, and glanced toward his buddies. John was dead on the dock, but so was one of the pricks who worked for that woman and this dickhead. Bill and the other guy each had their guns pointed at each other then. So much for doing this quiet like.

Addie risked a sideways glance enough to try and get a read of the situation.  Either Mat of Rand was down, she did not know which.  One of Jim's men was also down and now the other two were drawing aim on each other.  Adolph had apparently gotten a good first strike on the third man, who had been the one doing the speaking.  They had the advantage slightly, but Addie knew their advantage would quickly evaporate the longer they remained exposed out here on the dock.

They needed to get the hell out of there.  Jim was obviously stalling.  If Addie was to guess, he also had more men shore side. 

"On the boat now!  We are getting out of here."

She had to trust her team.  They were there for a reason and each knew their business.  She could not afford to take her eyes off of Jim.  He was a smuggler and no doubt had a weapon of some kind nearby.  In fact...

The move had been instinctual and she had scarcely known what she was doing before it was done.  She had thrown her entire weight into planting a knee in the middle of Jim's back.  With his hands in the air he was not able to stop his fall, but he was able to shield his face a bit as it received a glancing blow by a box on the way down.  Addie rode his fall down which allowed her to pin him to the ground on his face.  Her whole body weight was on her knee that was pressed into the middle of his back.  Being in physical contact with Jim was risky as he was physically larger and stronger than she was.  She just hoped she could keep him pinned long enough for the other two to wrap up their loose ends.  

Pressing the the gun to the back of his head she told him, "Don't move.  I have no desire to kill you in this moment, but we both know that I will if I have too."

Dolph in the middle of his scuffle heard AddieMoretti- call to him, when he glanced back he caught a cheapshot to the face sending him flying back.. He gripped his face as he winced in pain at the slug he just took before pulling his gun again from his waistband and raising it to the men..

"You take anotha step closer and I'll bust a cap in yo fucking ass.." he said pointing it back and forth between Jim's men on the dock

"Big man with the gun.. you were all ready to fight a minute ago.. what can't take a punch?" the man mocked him

Dolph noticed a few more shoreman coming to check out what was going on, he wasn't sure if they were more of Jim's men but he knew that Addie was right, we needed to get the hell out of here.. One of the men tried to make a lunge at Dolph but only caught a slug to the leg.. The other man remained there with his hands up as he buddy cried out in pain on the floor

"I told yall.. you thought i was playing with you.."

Dolph then jumped back on the boat and shot the rope tie that binded the boat between the boat and the dock.. He turned and began moving towards Addie to help her subdue Jim..

Rand shot and killed the last remaining man on the dock before picking up his fallen friend.  He got them both onto the boat as Adolph helped her to secure Jim.  "Keep him on the ground until we get out of eye sight of the docks.  Our friends on the shore and in the bay will handle clean up.  We will be heading back up the coast to New York.  The don will want to have a conversation with this one." 

Quickly she made her way to the boat's controls.  It took her only a minute to fire it up and set a course away from the dock.  Already the sirens could be heard in the distance.  They would be there shortly, but by then they would have slipped out of the bay and out of the range of the 'long arms of the law'.

Now that she had a moment she looked over to see Rand.  He was holding the lifeless body of Mat.  The young man did not allow himself to cry, but Addie knew.  The two boys had been inseparable since coming to New York.  This was a hard loss indeed.  "Rand I am so sorry."  He looked up at her with vacant eyes, but after a moment he nodded to her.  Then he allowed his eyes to drift back down to his friend.

"I am sorry too," Rand said quietly.

Dolph kept his foot on Jim Riley's back as he watched the boat slowly sai away from the dockyards.. One of the others had met a tragic end, but it was the way of the life.. Life by the gun, die by the gun he thought to himself.. Riley tried to squirm a bit before Dolph pressed his foot further into his back and smirked

"This boat ride will go a lot smoother if you don't move homie"

He glanced over to Addie who was navigating the boat away from shore

"Didn't know you knew how to drive this thing.. you keep surprising me at every turn dont ya?"

He called out to her before turning his attention back onto Jim Riley to make sure he didn't pull a fast one and slip free or something..

Addie studied the instruments that were on the boat and began to do some mental calculations in her head.  They would have to stop at some point to get some fuel, but everything else seemed to be in working order.

"My husband bought me a boat as a wedding present a couple of decades ago.  I have picked up a thing or two about boating over the years.  To be honest these boats with motors are not really that difficult.  You steer them much like you do a car and once we get out of the bay, there will be minimal traffic to avoid." 

With a sigh she looks at Jim, "It is not likely, but there is a chance the coast guard will stop us at some point.  If they do we will need him stowed away.  Let's get him bound and stashed away here in the back of the cabin.  We will grab some fuel at one of the smaller ports up the coastline before evening sets and then we will make the rest of the trip in the cover of night.  That should have us putting into port in New York during pre-dawn tomorrow assuming the weather cooperates with us."

She looked over at Rand who had now pulled a covered over Mat.  "Rand, help Dolph secure Jim and then lets start going through all these boxes and things.  It will be good to find out what we are carrying.  We can also see if there is food or water stowed on the boat.  If not we might need to stop for re-fueling sooner rather than later."

Dolph nodded at Addie and began to pick up Jim with the help of Rand.. He was putting up quite the protest, and even began trying to yell until Dolph clocked him in the face one good time, he pulled a rag from his pocket and shoved it in Jims mouth and started to lift him again..

"On the count of three.."

Dolph counted to two and Rand lifted up early, sending Jim flopping over like a fish and hitting his head again.. Dolph chuckled as the man groaned in pain..

"Careful man.."

They counted again and this time lifted his fat ass at the same time and made way down to the bottom of the deck where they found a crew quarters.. Dolph stuck him inside and locked the door behind him and made his way back to the deck of the ship with Rand

"Sorry about your friend homie.. I lost a lot of them ova the years.. it never gets easy.." he said

"At least the fucker who shot him is dead so, you got your vengeance..

Rand nodded back at Adolph before they rose back up to the deck to get further order from AddieMoretti-.
