I just want to take a moment to recognize something pretty cool that's happened here in the streets recently. If you haven't realized it here's a little back story: A few months back Keats took a break from the site and handed off a villain/story to Billy_Mastrosimone and I. His first strike was Keats' vehicle for ending the life of his long-running character Gavin Byrne. It was heart-wrenching and we really had intended to come back and see the story through to a conclusion, but it took a bit longer than expected. Fast forward to this current run we're on. We've FINALLY gotten the chance to round out this storyline and it's about to come to a close (probably within the week.) As some of you have commented there's been a lot of posts in the streets and a lot of writing happening. Characters were hunting down assassins, delivering messages to important contacts, wacking rival bosses, investigating and off'ing corrupt agents, kidnapping/rescuing people, acquiring allies, and eventually working towards what is happening in the final threads - killing this NPC godfather. Billy had taken this one villain and story and found a way to make a story for more than just he and I ... but lots of other people too. It was really something pretty cool to see here at MR. I've run big storylines before... but what Billy has done in organizing this is something else and I just wanted to give him a shout out as well as all the people who played a part in making this successful. THANK YOU to the player of LiaMattaranzi (though I did not know who you are & I know that you're more in the background of this story than anything else at the moment - without you this wouldn't have happened) Thank you for allowing others to use your NPC which has created a story that so many people have been a part of and enjoyed. Thank you to Keats for starting the ball rolling and trusting us to do something fun with it. Thank you to Billy_Mastrosimone for flushing out hoards of NPCs, locations, problems/plots to be resolved & giving anyone who wanted a part in this a place to come play, and to all the players without whom, nothing like this ever happens. Thank you for all being involved in this massive undertaking! I hope to see it's like again sometime in the future. :) Now... let's finish this thing!

This was so fun to be a part of. While LiaMattaranzi was entirely Keats' creation, he encouraged me to return to MR after nearly a year break and write for her. Her run was too short, but I had a hell of a good time breathing life into her. Catalina's part in this was significantly less, but it's always a joy to see something come together like this, with so many great people. Thank you all for playing along, and a HUGE thank you to Billy for showing us such a great time. Love you guys... let's do it again some time. <3 |

This was honestly pretty amazing. I had a ton of fun pursuing my own part of the quest with Aurora, but I'm most impressed by how many people Billy was able to engage here. Anyone can pile up RP with a couple friends; Billy extended this to his entire city. Frankly, it's one of the most ambitious and impressive RP projects I've ever seen. (And I've seen a couple.) You should be very proud, Billy_Mastrosimone. I love when people try new things to increase engagement- and this undoubtedly qualifies. Kudos! |
