Jal’s Plump Pepper, Dos
“Home of the Tequila Torpedo!”

Jal was excited to open up his second business on 12th Street in Detroit.  After receiving some financial backing from the RHM of his crew, MelanieThomas, Jal had taken the risk to open yet another Plump Pepper bar in this very busy city.

Pushing open the door, he stepped into the bar. While it was quiet right now, he had a vision of what was to come.  Following his Seattle renovation plan, he had added just enough light so that you could safely make your way around the numerous cocktail tables and chairs that filled the room. With the limited light, he hoped that couples would be able to find their own privacy and spend more time enjoying their time, which in turn meant more drinks and more money. To the right was the custom bar that was stocked with every type of liquor one could imagine, but at the end was his baby. In a specially lit cabinet said six bottles of Tequila he had brought in specifically from Mexico. While they cost him next to nothing to purchase on the other side of the border, the price tripled when he had to bootleg them across the border. And now that they were in Seattle, that price increase 10 fold as authentic Tequila from Mexico could be found nowhere else in town.

Glancing down at the menu, he was filled with excitement as the Grand Opening was only hours away. Jal had spent a lot of time coming up with unique drink options that only he offered in this dearly little city. Scanning down, he quickly found the Specialty Drinks Section:

TEQUILA TORPEDO
Mexican Tequila with a splash of Mexican Spicy Pepper Sauce served upright in a fresh Jalapeno.

Served individually or in half dozen sets.

“You might feel manly tonight, but let’s see how you feel tomorrow on the can!”

BLOODY SENORITA
Pepper spiced tomato juice mixed with house preferred tequila and garnished with thinly sliced sweet and mild peppers.

“As my el abuelo used to say, the bloodier, the better!”

GRINGO NIGHTMARE
Shot of house tequila served with six (6) ounce glass of Mexican Cerveza.

Shot is dropped into Cerveza and must drink quickly to avoid overflowing drink and ridicule from the other patrons.

“Careful Gringo, this is a drink for those not feint at heart”

MOTORCITY MOTOR BOAT
Mexican tequila blended with citrus juice and a dash of bitters, served on the rocks.

“If your girl isn't requesting a motor boat, you just have the wrong type of girl!”

Dom sees a new place in town. He smiles, and walks in. 'Congrats!' he says to the owner. "I'll have a bloody, please."

Beaming with pride of receiving his first customer, Jal serves up the Bloody Senorita himself, making sure to use one of his best Mexican tequilas.

"Very happy to part of the booming business here in Detroit....What a fabulous city!"

Nikki couldn't remember the last time she had been in detroit. It had been so long. But now, just as she was walking along the business district she stumbled upon a bar named ‘Jal’s Plump Pepper Dos’. It sparked her curiosity and she really wanted to see why that was the name for the bar.

Walking in, she was completely taken aback by the chill atmosphere and the darkness that consumed her. There were couples displaying affection shamelessly and people drinking till they were crazy and Nikki couldn’t help but want to join in on the fun too.

At the bar, she looked at the unique drink options on offer and feasted her eyes on the ‘Bloody Senorita’. It threatened her appetite with a good time. “Hello, yes... um can I please have the bloody senorita?”

Nomi was happier after visiting with Emelia. She made a new friend. After hearing Emelia's tale, Nomi was inspired to pick up a journal and write down her special moments and experiences more so. Emelia inspired her greatly, she was very strong.  Even though Nomi was almost broke, she felt so carefree as she continues to explore Detroit. A young man hands her a flyer to Jal’s Plump Pepper Dos. Examine the flyer she realizes was only a few blocks away.

Fifteen minutes later, Nomi is waiting at the bar for her TEQUILA TORPEDO.
