| The Rise of the Emerald City Godfather | Started by: JohnWalton on Oct 04, '19 16:56 |
After the great war that ravaged the underworld of the United States, several factions were relocated across the territory to help in the process of rebuilding the american mafia structure. There would be an arduous process ahead and the decisions were made as strategically as possible. That was how John Walton and his newly formed crew were sent from Las Vegas to Seattle in order to maintain a better distribution of criminal organizations throughout the country. Such a war had created many opportunities in that thing of theirs. John Walton came across a disorganized, almost wild Seattle.Small groups that once operated in the shadows of large organizations found themselves fighting for their place in the sun, now that such organizations were extinct. Seattle was like a wild horse and several men were now tempted to tame it.John Walton was one of them. The old man, cunning as a fox, knew, however, that it was not a simple process. Anyone who wanted to reach the top of the criminal hierarchy at Emerald City would have to plan their every step very well. One of the strongest competitors was a man a little younger than John who had lived in Seattle for many years: Ricardo Escamilla. Ricardo had been running an operation for a long time, transporting mostly alcohol to some states neighboring Washington. The man, of mexican origin, was reputed to be ruthless. His violent methods were known to the other end of the country, although his operation had only really begun to grow after the Great War. He was also a man fond of appearances. Also known in most parts of the country as "Don Gordo", Ricardo always adorned his imposing figure with gold chains and rings. After the war, Ricardo's name began to gain strength in the Seattle area. Though always brutal rather than smart for business, the postwar scenario was perfect for him,who began to fill in with satisfaction the many gaps left, like prostitution and drug trafficking.John, in turn, had assured Don Gordo a peaceful coexistence and, under the blessing of prominent crime figures like Mikhail and Aegor, and facing the need that that specific moment of the underworld demanded, a moment of reconstruction, territories were demarcated and peace was sealed between them before anything else. Things were working perfectly for some time. The old Walton and Don Gordo Escamilla lived in a relative indifference to each other that bordered on peace. John was able to establish distribution routes for his whiskey and weed, the main sources of income for his business, while Gordo continued with his activities. Business was starting to thrive again. However, nothing lasts forever. John's trucks began to be intercepted by the roads, his product being stolen and his men beaten. Businesses to which John offered protection began to be attacked and peace began to fade quickly, until the situation became unbearable... |

John strode into the red barn at the Black Oak Ranch. His most trusted men were already there, waiting for him.All his sons, along with the other made members of the organization. Before sitting down, he took off his hat and threw it on the table in front of him. Everyone in the room watched him in silence. In recent weeks, the Black Oak organization had been fighting a tiring battle against the Escamilla cartel. Burnt trucks, men shot at the streets. Not even the high sums paid to the chief of police prevented raids from happening at the most annoying times. The press was also more curious than ever.None of that was good for business. So, naturally, John Walton and the other heads of his organization decided it was time to end that before that ended them. Baldr, John's right hand, alongside the captains Viktor, Dominick and Junk, conducted a thorough investigation. The goal was to identify the fundamental pieces of the organization, pieces which the rival organization could not bear to continue without. Their routines were analyzed and a plan of action was carefully assembled. So, that night John called that meeting, just to present to the rest of his people the plan that would be orchestrated the next day. Before everyone's eyes, he opened the top button of his shirt, which was suffocating him, and sat down. "This war between us and Escamilla has gone too far. Farther than I should have ever allowed." he said in a tired voice. "It's time to end this. Tomorrow, we will attack once and for all. No more messages. No more warning shots. I've been very reasonable with that fat fuck, but he can't understand that. Enough is enough." His words sounded without anger or excitement, but in a neutral and almost monotonous way. "We will divide into smaller groups. If we kill these men, their cartel will be over. But we will have to be careful. They are well protected men. Tomorrow, you bring your wives and children to spend a day at the ranch. All associates and some bodyguards will be here. Don't alarm them, but I want everyone here. My wife is already aware of everything, she will entertain everyone with good food and whatever is necessary. If we fail tomorrow, it's good for our families to be together, because it will turn into hell." He paused and glanced at each of them, who also stared at him. Then he turned to Baldr, who was beside him with a briefcase in his hand. "Baldr, let's go over the details?" |

Baldr sat down to the right of @JohnWalton, pulling up his briefcase and setting it on the table. He opened it, and after siphoning through the contents for a moment, handed those around him a copy of the intel gathered. Notably, he didn't keep one for himself, he had more than memorized what needed to be said.

"We end this tonight, old friend. We will make Seattle glorious again."
Baldr nods before clicking shut the briefcase before him, allowing those assigned a target to keep the necessary info on hand. Gio glances down at the picture of the cockroach he is meant to exterminate in his hand; Diego Rosario... never had Gio wanted to remove a man from existence so much before.
Gio had run into the man before in his travels, a rude odorous brute with little regard for much of anything as far a Gio could ascertain. Gio had seen him in various clubs around town in the evenings, loudly laughing, starting fights and causing trouble. One such fight had gravely injured a bartender and waitress in one of Gio's favorite spots and caused the place to shut down for a while. Naturally someone else recieved the blame for the events when the police came around and Diego continued to walk free, seemingly unfazed by the event. And now this monster wants to pretend to be the doting, caring son of a sick mother? It was hard for Gio to believe this could be the same man, and knew he was likely just attempting to keep up appearances. But this wouldn't be personal, this was a matter of business now. And about the wellbeing of the family and the Ranch. Due to the nature of John's agreement with Don Gordo, Gio had been unable to pursue matters as he would've preferred. Thankfully this was about to change.
Once the others in the family had parted to begin to handle their own tasks Gio approached Baldr.
"So old friend, I get to play dress up for the evening then hmm? Where can I get ready?"
Baldr nods and points towards one of the stalls in the barn meant for the horses.
"You'll find your outfit and equipment there, happy hunting. When you arrive, make your way to office 232. I'm told your "patient's" location will be in the top drawer of the desk, on the left hand side." Baldr nods again and quickly turns his attention back to his own tasks, knowing that Gio is more than properly suited for his assigment and will see it finished one way or another.
Gio enters the stall, and just out of vision of his fellow family members begins to get himself dressed and prepared for his evening of playing doctor.
The drive to the hospital was a long one, the Ranch was quite a ways away and the hospital was nearly in the center of downtown. Gio had ridden the way in silence, only the pitter-patter of a light rain on the windshield as he made his way into town. His radio was turned off, windows rolled up and mind focused soley on the job before him.
You could say that he was excited, and maybe a tad nervous about having to play doctor which was something he had never had to do before, but the gravity of the situation kept him grounded, calm and serious. He knew that this was perhaps the most important thing he had ever been asked to do for the family, and it needed to be done right.
Arriving at the hospital, Gio had been told to park in a specific spot, one that belonged to a doctor "Stevens" that had been "convinced" to take the evening off, and make his way inside. The white coat Gio wore over the dress shirt and tie was perhaps a tad small and didn't allow for Gio to move quite as well as he often did, but looked well enough for him to play the part. He wore a name tag on his chest that matched the doctors name, but had Gio's picture in a small box in the corner.
Entering the hospital Gio's black dress shoes squeeked on the linoleum floors as he made his way past the reception area, nodding at a nurse behind the desk he pushed through the double doors and entered a large hallway. Thankfully, as late into the evening as it was, the hospital was fairly quiet and there was very little staff present. Letting out a sigh of relief Gio made his way towards office 232.
Having to stop once or twice to get his bearings in the labryinth of hallways he finally found the office. On the second floor, the fairly large office was seemingly left unlocked. He allowed himself in and pulled the blinds shut on the large windows looking out into the hallway, and on the opposite side of the room into the parking lot. It was a fine office, with a large bookshelf on one wall, stacked with a variety of different medical texts. The desk in the center of the room had two chairs on the side closest to the door and a very comfortable looking seat on the opposite side of the desk. Gio made his way around, opening the drawer on the top left-hand side Gio finds a collection of files carefully alphabetized.
Flipping through the files quickly Gio reads the names of the patients quietly, in an almost whisper, to himself. "Hmm... Osbourne, Parker, Proudy, Robins, Rosario, Shoemaker... wait, Rosario!"
"Perfect"
Gio quickly slides the folder back into it's intended spot and checks to make sure that he is living very little sign of his poking around the office before reaching the door. On the wall beside the door he notices a small map of the hospital, room 226... just down the hall, a left turn and 3rd room on the right - got it. leaving the room and heading back into the hallway. His shoes once again squeeking across the floor Gio makes his way quickly down the hallway. He has a better understanding now of the layout in the building and reaches the intended room quickly.
Hand on the door handle a nurse comes around the corner in Gio's direction. "Hello Doctor, I'm hear to check on Ms. Rosario." The overworked and tired nurse nurse says trying to hold back a yawn. Without turning to face her Gio answers, "No need nurse, go get yourself some coffee or something, I'll get this one." The girl thanks Gio before heading back the direction that she came.
Knocking on the door quietly, and hearing no reply, Gio lets himself in.
Ms. Rosario is asleep in her bed, the pain relievers she is on likely to keep her that way. There is a tray of half eaten food by her bed and her son, Diego Rosario, sits in a chair in the corner. Head back, snoring he doesn't even notice Gio enter the room. Gio takes a copy of the patients chart, on a clipboard, from it's spot on the wall by the door. Tapping the clipboard with his finger as he walks to the foot of the bed Diego begins to wake.
"Oh... uh Doctor. I didn't realize you come in, sorry. Is everything... is everything alright?" Diego asks sleepily rubbing his eyes.
"Yes, yes. Everything appears to be fine. Just wanted to check on our patient here. You are her son, correct?" Gio asks, watching as Diego yawns, nods and rubs his eyes again. "Perfect, we need to get some paperwork straightened up really quickly if you wouldn't mind coming with me? We can head back to my office and discuss things quickly there, so as not to disturb your mother."
Diego stands slowly, grabbing his coat from the back of his chair and draping it over his arm he follows Gio out into the hallway. On their brief walk back to the office not much is said between the men. Diego, still half asleep and Gio greatly anticipating the completion of his assignment. They enter the office one after the other and Gio places the clipboard in his hands on the desk, with a pen on top of the pages. He motions for Diego to have a seat and asks him to review and sign the paperwork. The tired man has a seat as he is asked and takes the pen is his hand. Rubbing his eyes once more before looking at the chart belonging to his mother he grows puzzled.
"What exactly is it you would like me to sign Doctor?"
Gio, now standing behind Diego, produces a silenced pistol from his white coat and presses the cold steel against the back of Diego's head.
"Your life away Mr. Rosario. JohnWalton says hello, and goodbye, from Black Oak Ranch. You fucking piece of shit."
Two relatively quiet shots hit the back of Diego's head and his head hits the bloody papers on the desk. Gio holsters the pistol and makes his way towards the exit.
It's maybe 20 minutes later when Gio pulls over on the side of the road by a payphone a ways from the hospital. The rain is coming down more heavily now, and Gio pulls his coat up around his ears trying to keep dry as he leaves his vehicle. He enters the payphone booth and places a call to home.
"Tell John that sadly our hospital patient has passed. We are going to want to send some flowers for his mother. Thank you."
Hanging up Gio returns to his car and lights a smoke. Turning the key in the ignition the engine rumbles back to life and he pulls the car away from the curb, driving off into the night. |

1. I just sat there for half an hour trying to figure out what was so fun about watching a bunch of horses running in circles. I was probably the only fool here cos in about one thousand people in here I was the only one who was not looking like it was having the moment of their lives. I’ll blame the fact I was never really a gambler, and never would. Just the thought of putting the chances of making or losing money on the flavor of luck made me sick. And I am not even exaggerating. So like everyone else in the world I had to find my own ways to make money. I guess I was lucky to have someone placing a piece on my hands one day, cos it didn’t take long until I figure out that while folks would shit their pants just by holding a gun, to me it just felt like I was having a glass of water. And then my employers said they’d pay me ten big ones to take out the trash and I thought to myself, bingo. And that’s what brought me here today. Andres Terrazas was my assignment. I don’t know who the guy is and to be honest I don’t really care. All I know he’s part of something bigger than me and that somethign was harming Mr. Walton’s interests in the city. In this environment there’s only one possible way to resolve these situations. Either we die, or they die. And I was going to make sure I was on the bright side of it all. Before lighting a cigarette I took a picture from my pocket to look at the face once again. Better double checking then clipping the wrong guy, isn’t? I know I wouldn’t be the guy to spoil the party. And just like that here he was, with his long hair, with his shades making him look all full of himself, Cuban stuffed in his mouth, leather boots and all. The whole package just’d made me want to pull the trigger even more. “I’ll be back, gotta drop a bag downtown.” He said to someone but he was wrong. So wrong that in fact that’d be the last time he’d see this place. It took me twenty minutes tailing this guy throught the city until he decided to park the car just outsider a place where I assumed they had an hideout. His leg was barely out of the car when my gun met his face. “This is a message from Mr. Walton” BANG.
2. The next day I returned to the racing track and asked to meet their manager. “Good evening, I am Angelo. Angelo DeCarlo, and I am here to speak for Mr. Walton. If you saw the news this morning, you’ll know that unfortunately your arrangement with Gordo’s guy, Andres Terrazas is off. But you don’t need to worry about anything. Mr. Walton is willing to offer you protection in replacement of them in return for a small cut out of your operations…” |

A few hours after the meeting in the red barn of the Black Oak Ranch, Baldr was found making his final preparations for the evening. He had a fine suit laid out for the after party, which he smoothed out on the bed before placing on a hook behind his door. Walking over to the mirror, he had a glance about himself. Dressed in a more casual pair of black slacks, not quite plated like in a suit, but more relaxed to suit a club, and a smooth silky red button up, with a black vest over it. He slid is pistol into his vest and looked in the mirror again to make sure that it appeared almost invisible.
I have some work I need to do, but after tonight, you and Mr_Cat will have a much better and safer place to live. She looked up at him, purring in understanding, yet still looking mad that her grooming was cut short. He would probably return home to destroyed shoes, or shit in his bed, but it was a risk that had to be taken this evening. He nodded to her, and then made his way out to the car, and then directly to the Copacabana Club. Walking through the doors, he checked his surroundings. He spotted his man, Alonzo Perez, off in the corner in the VIP section, so he continued to look around. The club was nice, but not quite his dive. He may have to toss a Molotov inside as he left, just because sometimes it was nice to watch something beautiful burn to the ground. This ground would make a nice development for the Ranch anyway. Finishing his whiskey, he looked up at the clock hanging on the far wall, the time was here, without a moment to spare. As the flock of women surrounding Alonzo dissipated, Baldr was sure they were each paid by the hour, the man was left virtually alone to gather his things. It was likely he was headed to Big City Cantina to meet up with the fat ass Gordo. He walked directly up to him, as Alonzo looked up from his belongings. Baldr swung first, knocking Alonzo to the ground with a vicious blow, and continued to punch him squarely in the face. He then decided that he had sufficiently relieved his tension, and pulled his gun from his vest, placing it directly in the center of Alonzo's head, and pulling the trigger. Mass hysteria ensued, and he was able to slip out the back door, and around to his car. He arrived at the Ranch at roughly the same time as everyone else, the adrenaline pumping through his veins enough that he forgot all about the suit he had picked out, and not even caring to wash his now bloody knuckles. He smiled widely as he spotted the old JohnWalton, Godfather of Seattle at last. |

To eliminate Ricardo, John decided to take most of the crew with him. John would have loved to sneak past Gordo's headquarters silently killing him, but it was totally risky not to say impossible. Don Gordo would be at his restaurant that night, a place named Big City Cantina. John's crew had gathered information that Gordo had dinner there religiously every night. Being the truculent man he was, Gordo didn't mind walking with many bodyguards. He trusted himself and his skills with a gun too much. The plan was a fast and strong attack. A few blocks away from the restaurant, three cars stopped, all filled with John Walton and his men. They would have no means of communication with the other crews who would perform the other steps of the job. In the car with John were Viktor, Dominick, and Junk. Rodney, one of John's sons, was behind the wheel. In the other cars were HughJorgan, Chibs, MickeyAnderson, Comrade_Petrov, MisterBlack, Mateo-Konte, MelanieThomas, Father_OMalley and The_Dubliner, all ready. Inside the car, John lit a cigarette and looked at his watch. There were still a few minutes to go.The men didn't talk much, they just watched the movement of the streets. The events that were about to follow could change the course of their lives in one way or another, and no one was willing to talk away. John checked his watch again. It was time. "Let's go." he said. The cars began to move slowly. The streets were quiet that night, which was good, John thought to himself. The less civilians involved, the better. When they reached one of the streets parallel to the restaurant, the third car in the line turned a corner before the others. It was part of the strategy for them to break into the restaurant from the back. The other two cars finally hit the restaurant street. The excitement was growing in each person in those cars. Rodney accelerated, getting the car to the front of the restaurant quickly.Even before the cars came to a complete halt, the men had already jumped with guns in hand.Outside the restaurant, two men were sharing a cigaretteand immediately tried to draw their weapons when they realized the threat.Faster than them, however, were Junk and Dominick, who hurried to shoot them, causing them to drop dead on the sidewalk immediately. The front of the restaurant was all glass, with two wide doors, which made it easier to see inside. Some people threw themselves to the ground, desperate. Others have already hurried to retaliate. Those were the men of Escamilla, the ones they had to worry about. Viktor rushed to the restaurant, followed by MickeyAnderson. A few shots from inside shattered the glassand grazed Viktor in the arm. The man shouted some curses in his own language and began firing back furiously. The others followed him, trying to find cover while also shooting back in the midst of confusion. As John's vanguard stormed the restaurant, Gordo's men and Don Gordo himself tried to escape to the back. They were surprised by the other part of the crew, that had invaded the place through the back doors and now reached them.Shots echoed again from both sides, but John's group, with the element of surprise at their side, made the rest of the men fall. There was a lot of shouting and panic on the part of civilians. John walked between the overturned tables and shattered plates on the floor. Some of his men were hit non-fatally and were helped by Melanie and MisterBlack. The rest of them were finishing the Gordo's men who didn't die right away and putting them out of their misery. John watched it all as he walked through the restaurant, looking for Don Gordo himself. Comrade Petrov whistled at him, gaining his attention. He was pointing his gun at a man on the ground who was apparently already injured. The huge body and the sparkle of the jewels left no doubt. It was Don Gordo. He turned with difficulty to look at John. His gun had flown far in his fall and he was completely defenseless. His face turned into a mask of hatred as he began to scream. "¡Hijo de put...." Bang. John interrupted Don Gordo with a shot in the middle of the forehead. The man's eyes stared at him again before the light faded from them. Without further ado, John turned, signaling for everyone to follow, wich they all did, some with more difficulty than others due to injuries. The attack had been a success. Later, at the ranch, while the wounded were treated, the rest of the crew arrived. John got the confirmation. All the attacks had been a success. A party had been prepared. Mobsters from across the country, Walton business partners, were invited. A lot of whiskey and a lot of food were brought to the ranch on that occasion for an outdoor party which, it was said, could last for days. The old John Walton was now officially a Godfather. |

Viktor had been busy for weeks preparing for this. He had made sure that John would be well supported in his attack on Don Gordo, so that Viktor would not be needed. Baldr was there by his side the whole time, and Viktor had no worries. Instead, he was focusing on the party that would follow Godfather Walton's ascension to the top of the city. A few weeks back he had purchased a large warehouse in Pioneer Square. Since then he had been working tirelessly to turn it into the best nightclub in the city. The Emerald Lounge was finally ready and open for business. Viktor joined up with JohnWalton and Baldr outside Don Gordo's estate. "Apologies for missing all the action, friends." He said with a slight bow. "However, I have also been busy. Please, step into my car." He grinned and beckoned for them to join him in a stretch limo that was idling behind him. "We are on our way to the grand opening of the swankiest spot in town, The Emerald Lounge. They are holding an exclusive party in your honor, Godfather." |
