Luca killed the roach,he did so not out of malice,indeed he did it without a thought,the roach had simply been where it shouldnt have.It was he who paid the rent not the roach,although what he was paying rent for at this precise moment eluded him.In the two weeks since he had landed on these shores he had spent no more than twenty minutes in this place,it depressed him to do so.Forcing himself up from the bed he reached under it and pulled out the service revolver his father had left him,thoughts of the old country never far from his mind.Stripping down the weapon he let the repetition of the task clear his thoughts and concentrate on the one he needed to most.The Package.He had booked his flight earlier in the day,using the same alias he had entered the country with,so that was clearly still undetected.His heart jumped a little when he thought of sneaking the package AND his gun aboard,but he had seen enough the last week to know not taking his gun would be a reckless risk in the current climate.He had seen the people he had been paying a tax of kind to,mowed down when they had looked most secure,their wealth and good will no adaquate shield against the lupaso's and revolvers such as these.Anybody could get it,and anyone who came between this package and its destination most certainly would.And Lucas knew he would feel no more pity for them than he had the roach.They would have simply been where they shouldn't have,asked a question they shouldn't have.He slid the service revolver in to his jacket pocket,threw the package into his black duffle bag and headed for the door.He knew he was taking a big risk taking this trip but he also saw the great rewards,ironic he was heading there with with exact same notion as millions of well-meaning tourists.But that was where the similarities end,fore Lucas was a wolf among sheep and wolves must be fed.
