These are guys that have gone above and beyond for their family, most of them either puttin' their own life on the line, taking the life of another or even both to earn the title that they proudly wear. If you got a problem with a made guy it's only right that you go and ask around your head quarters about the lad before you burst through his door with guns blazin'. Doin' something like that without getting permission from the big dogs in your family won't do you no good. Hell no, it will just put you in a box right next to them."

I walk over to a nearby lamp post and lean against it, bending a leg at the knee and placing my foot on the pole behind me. A large ball of ashes fall off my cigar and onto my coat. I shake it off as I shake my head, mumbling to myself before looking back up to see a few people had gathered around me.

"So there's no questions there. You don't touch a made guy unless you are given special permission to do so. But then, what about associates? You know who I'm talkin' about. The hand arounds. The guys we get to drive us places and run our errands. Wiseguys that we send to collect small cash for us. Earners that hit the streets to rake in the dope money. Why are these guys treated special?

If a couple earners get into a squable at a speak easy and one of them pulls out a chunk and wacks the other lad, why do we need to punish him for that? Hell, if I heard that story all I would want to do is hire the  ballsy fucker that did the shootin'. The guy he killed was a nobody, right?  Sure, maybe he had some potential. Maybe he was one hell of an earner. But he wasn't a made guy, and not protected by the laws of La Cosa Nostra that we stand by.

I guess what I'm askin' is, do you think that associates and hang arounds should be as protected as their Made superiors, or perhaps we should loosen up the leash a little and let the young guns fight it out with each other as they feel necessary? Also, should a Made Man be wacked for takin' the life of lets say a goomba?"
