As the truck rocked back and forth, Addie rested her eyes. She sat on the passenger side of a box truck that bore her target and his cargo. It had been a long hard day with no sleep and now the first light of dawn was slowing bringing the city alive for a new day. There had been only a few people at the dock when they had arrived which made things fairly easy. The men there that were on Billy's payroll had helped her in securing the truck and a driver who was also on the roll. They had also given her the bad news about the don.
While the how's and the why's were still unknown to her, she had been told that the Don had been injured and was unable to walk. The dock workers did not have any word on her husband, but they had heard the rumor that was quickly spreading about the Don. She knew that everyone was probably trying to keep this quiet, but the fact was this was something you could only keep silent for so long.
Now that she was back home, she did not want to do anything except to return to Charlie's side. Unfortunately she had to deal with this matter first. Normally she would have seen to this sort of matter herself and Billy did not need to deal with this in his current condition. However, that was not an option for her. Billy had played things so close to the vest these last several days that she barely knew anything at all about this man she held as her ‘guest’. She knew he was Don Mattaranzi's chief smuggler into the states and that he worked for a man named Casto. Also based on some things Jim had told her on the boat, he probably at least knew Gentry and they somehow worked together. Still she did not know if he knew anything about her brother's murder. It was unlikely, but there was always a chance. No, before she would be able to effectively interrogate Jim, she needed to know more.
"Ma'am? Sorry to disturb you, but we are here," the driver said to her.
Addie opened her eyes and drew a deep breath before let it out slowly. It would be important that she steel herself to what she was about to see. She would have to do the same with her husband when he woke up, but for now she focused her thoughts on Billy. This was quite possibly the hardest thing he had ever had to face. Somehow, he would have to accept that he would need to reinvent himself. She had no doubts that he would be able to continue doing to do the things he had to do, he just would be doing them differently than he had ever done before.
As the truck came to a stop she hopped out and told the driver to wait. Before she went inside, she left instructions with the guards at the door that no one was to open the back of the truck up without the Don or her giving the order. |

Billy had been up and sitting in the den as he waited for Addie. It was not exactly his office, but he was slowly moving his things down when he could. It was time consuming work, but with Tara and Brigitte gone, it was only Aurora in the house he could trust with some of the more sensitive information. And the safe? There was no way anyone was moving that damned thing. So it was that Orville found him, looking out the window at Addie as she got out of the truck and stepped up the the front. "I know she's here Orville, my eyes work fine, send her in right away, she's family after all." He leaned back in the chair and positioned himself behind the desk so that she would see the least of the contraption. |

Addie looked at the little bit of the chair she could see for a long silent moment. She would not insult Billy with pretense. They were family and family stuck by each other through the thick and the thin. She wanted Billy to know that he was not alone in this. She looked back at Billy and directly into his eyes. "I heard that you had been hurt. I am glad to see you home. Has Aurora and the girls returned? Are they safe?" |

Billy nodded. "They are on their way as we speak. Aurora doesn't know yet. I'm going to wait till she gets home to see her. Tara is leaving early in the morning to meet her at the airport." He wheeled his way around the desk then. "So, you want to dive right into business and go see the bastard, or are we going to talk first?" |

"You're the boss. I have Jim in the back of the truck along with everything that was on his boat. If you have specific information you are needing from him just let me know and I can deal with it. Though if Roar is on her way back, I assume she has successfully dealt with the threat of Don Mattaranzi. Do we know for certain if he was the one responsible for Gio's death?" Addie clasped her hands behind her back and fell in to walk beside him. |

Billy shook his head. "I don't think we're going to get a specific confession from Mattaranzi, from the sounds of things, it was a quick operation. But everything pointed to that. Why, do you think there's some other player we're not aware of?" He lowered his voice and stopped dead in his tracks. He gestured for Addie to close the door. "Bitch boy can wait, what are you talking about? What do you know Addie?" |

Addie closed the door and sighed as she turned to lean back against it. "I don't know anything and it is the not knowing that is eating at me. My mind is grasping at straws in its attempt to understand all this shit. To be fair, I am probably reading way to much into some things. That said, there was a point when we apprehended Jim that he let a few things slip. He knew my name, knew I was Sicilian, referenced that I had ordered people to do horrible things. I suppose he could have guessed most those things on his own. My name he might have gotten from Gentry. I suspect they at least worked with each other in some capacity and I would not be surprised if he was not the man responsible for getting the bomb into the States that was used to kill William and them." She shrugged her shoulders and shook her head, as she silently cursed her tiredness that she was certain was coming through in her mannerism. "I don't know anything for certain. However, when he says he is a simple smuggler whose pay grade runs much lower than Dons, I find myself believing him." Addie looked at Billy with the eyes of a sister being honest with her brother. "It probably was Don Mattaranzi, but I think I will rest better if we can find this Casto guy and make sure." |

Billy nodded. "Casto is significant from everything I can gather. It also likely means he went into hiding now that the Godfather is dead. If he's smart at least. And if we haven't caught hide nor hair of him yet, he's smart. I have a feeling either he will be a problem for a long time to come, or he is going to disappear. Which one remains to be seen. If Jim can lead us to him though? Well that would certainly be a good thing right? So long as nobody else gets hurt in the process." Billy gestured toward the door. "Why don't you get the boys to bring him down to the basement, we can ask a few questions down there without waking up the whole neighborhood." |

More importantly she did not want to wake up the children. When she had dropped off Mirella and little Giovanni it was suppose to have been for a few hours. That had been what? Three days ago now? Four? It was all running together. She suspected the kids had probably picked up on a few things. Kids usually were more observant than adults usually gave them credit. She would need to see them before she left. She was sure they would need to be reassured. She also had to have a very frank conversation with them about their father. The fact that Billy had not brought him up, lead Addie to believe their had been no change since she left. Until he woke up, know one knew how bad his condition might be. Addie left Billy to go give the orders. She walked outside and supervised as the back of the truck was opened up. Precautions had been taken to see that the view from the street was blocked just in case someone was trying to spy on their operations from a distance. Jim was also brought inside the house with a coat thrown over his head to hide his identify. Once inside the men took him down to the basement and Addie retrieved a list of everything that had been on the boat. Some of the items they had not been able to identify and those items were described in detail. Billy would want to know what they had intended to deliver to Hollowood. |

Billy followed Jim and Addie down into the basement and waited until it was only he, Addie, a bodyguard and the tied up man in the room. "Morning Jimbo." The other man glared at him. "We're going to make this very simple. Do you know where we can find Mister Casto?" Jim shook his head. Never actualyl met the guy. Only know where the depots are. I'll give you their locations if you want, I just want to do my work Don Mastrosimone, honest. You've got the wrong guy for this. I don't know why you sent your hounds on me, but you've got the wrong man." Billy nodded and gestured his head to Addie. "You want to see if your methods are any different?" |

Addie approached Jim with all the presence of a large cat playing with her catch. "Jim, the first time we met we were having such a nice little conversation when your associate, Mr. Gentry, decided to hit my husband in the head with a crowbar." Addie caressed the side of his face gently and lifted his chin to look at her. "Now I would think a decent, hard-working fellow would go out of his way to help a damsel in a moment of her distress, but you chose to run away instead." Addie slapped him across the cheek hard enough to leave her hand print and make the chair he was tied to rock. Addie nodded to herself and then left Jim's side to go pick up a crowbar that laid standing against the wall. She took it in both hands and tested the weigh with a bit of a bounce. "Now as fate would have it, I was denied retribution on Mr. Gentry. However, it would seem that the stars might be smiling on me today by delivering you to me. Now I will get retribution one way or another. The question is, who will pay the price? Mr. Casto or you?" Addie placed the end of the crow bar down on the ground and leaned on it a bit. "I would very much like to get the 'right man' so please tell us everything you know that will assist us in catching Mr. Casto. I also recommend that you don't spare the details because if we don't catch Mr. Casto, I will be doing to you what was done to my husband." Addie picked the crowbar up and used the end that had been on the ground to lift his chin again. "I can assure you Jim that the old saying is very much true. Hell has no fury like a woman's scorn." Her emotions were stone cold and the intensive of her gaze left no question she meant every word she had spoken. |

Jim shook his head. "I only hired that dumb kid after his brother died. I swear I didn't know what he was gonna do. he was just supposed to unload, and then take his stuff and cut it up and sell it. Then I take most of the profits and kick it up the food chain. You know how it works. Really, please, you don't want to do this. In my boat there's a manifest. You can have it, it'll tell you all the ports Casto uses." He shook his head again. "I'm sorry about your husband, I am. I swear I had no idea, but I ran cause I though you was gonna kill me! I mean, look at where I am now. Can you blame me for thinking that?" |
