Octavian steps out of his freshly purchased HQ in downtown Detroit. He takes a moment on the front steps, and takes a deep breath of the wintery air. The air he breathes reeks of freedom. Not that he felt contained by Godfather McDermott, but now he has been trusted to run his own crime family under his friend and Godfather. Being entrusted with such an honor gave Octavian an amount of joy that no words could express. He looks down the steps to see groups of mafiosi already gathered to witness his grand opening.

Friends, family, and associates...I would like to thank you all for coming out to the grand opening of the Senatus Populusque Romanus. It is an honor to set up shop under the guidance of my friend, Godfather McDermott. He has trusted me as an underboss of his city, and has charged me with several duties. Being the honorable person that I am, I will do my best to honor his wishes and fulfill my duties to my city. I am hoping one day to stand among the high ranking crew leaders of our world, and pull my own weight in our world. I'd say I'm off to a good start, since I've earned the trust of the Detroit Godfather, first as his Right Hand, and now as his underboss.

Searching his mind for words, he absent-mindedly reaches into his coat pocket and pulls out a cigarette. He lights it with a match; tossing the match aside. As the nicotine finds its way through to his lungs, he already finds himself calming.

My duties as an underboss of Detroit, is to do my best to protect my dear city. I will do so, even if it means giving my life to save it. I will also be doing my best to help keep the respect my city has earned by acting as a respectable family head should, and also will work to earn new respect from others. I look forward to working with each and every one of you, and working even more closely with those already working in the city of Detroit.

I want to thank you all once again, for the private congratulations I have already received, and also for the support you've shown me by showing up here to listen to me ramble. Soon enough, I will be throwing a small crackdown party in Detroit in order to celebrate my new promotion. If you're in Detroit tonight, feel free to check out the jails. Thank you, yet again.

Contrary to popular belief gangsters weren't *always* stealing from old ladies and knocking over 7-11s, sometimes they did "normal" things such as getting their nails done. That's exactly where Katie found herself at the time the news spread quickly across the seven cities. Her manicurists was in the middle of some salon drama when someone whispered into her ear the news. A new auth in motor city, the news was spreading like wildfire through the city. About every woman in the place had a husband, brother or boyfriend who had dipped his hands in the life of crime.

Katie rolled her eyes. Did any of these women keep up on the politics? Of course not, they just rolled around in the money their men made for them. However, Katie was excited for the news to finally be official. She was eager to see how Octavian would do in his new suit.

Once she was done with her personal business Katie stopped at a liquor store before heading home. Picking up one of their finest bottles of rum, Octavian's favorite. At home, she sat at her desk and pulled out her stationary, writing Octavian a letter which was to be delivered promptly with the rum.

I just heard the official news! You've got that new suit and I'm sure you look absolutely wonderful in it. Congratulations are in order of course, but unfortunately I won't be able to join you personally and I hope the gift included will make up for it. We'll have to toast with distance between us. To new opportunities in life that will open many doors of prosperity and good fortune. Congratulations Octavian!

After taking one last drag of his cigarette and flipping it to the ground, Horatius walks over to pay his respect.

Congratulations to you, Octavian.  An Underboss is an extremely vital position for any crime family.  I'm sure you are extremely fit and ready to handle anything that comes your way.  Here's to you and your new position.  May Detroit stay prosperous.

Horatius takes a sip from his flask and continues his path down the street.

She rushes up to Octavian, her hair a mess and her clothing covered in what appears to be flour or confectioners sugar. She bullies her way past Octavian's guards and thrusts a large box into his hands.

Oh dear me, I am late. I am so sorry dearest.

She flattens Octavian's cowlick with her hand and some Magic Mommy Spit then stands back and smiles proudly.

I cannot tell you how proud I am of you. You've achieved so much in your short life.

Her eyes well up with tears.

I can only wish the best for you and yours and tell you that you have toilet paper stuck to your shoe... Good luck kiddo. I know you'll do well.

Walks up to Octavian and shakes his hand saying "Congrats on getting CL. Hope you make your family nice and strong.  Hope you can protect my little sis Fox well. Good luck to you and your family"

Approaches Octavian with a smile and a box of fine cigars

"Congrats on this great honour, it is well deserved and it couldn't happen to a better guy"

Takes out 2 cigars and lights them both handing Octavian one

"The best of luck to you and your new family my friend!"

LW hears about then news happening in Detroit, he makes his way to the street...

After a few minutes of walking he gets there to congraulate Octavian.

"Congratulations sir well done and I wish you all the best."

Congratulations Octavian. Don't let your empire collapse like the Ancients.

It has been awhile since I have seen a MadeMan been given this honor. You must have really earned it to get t so early in your career.

Sitting back and listening to Octavian introduce himself to the fine mafiosi of the eight cities McDermott can't help but smile.

Although you haven't served under me for a long time you were there through the worst of times yet. When a city loses a Godfather like Detroit lost Marcus it can be one of the hardest events a city can endure. Your ability to rise to the occasion is simply second to none. Not only did you help rebuild The Motor City you also were able to guide it through a war alongside the fine leaders from both Chicago and Saint Louis.

Kimble steps up to the new HQ in Detroit and walks up to Octavian.  He lays in his hand a golden bullet and a bottle of Jameson whiskey.

I got 60 crates more coming my friend.   Your HQ will never be in short supply of the finest imported whiskey's that I can find.  Consider it my gift.

May congratulations of being granted authorization to set up your own shop in Detroit.  You are a highly skilled mafioso that has what it takes to help Godfather McDermott create an empire.  I am thinking that you will have a lot of time to aspire to greatness Octavian, and I am hoping that you make the most of it.
