| New Orleans Riverboat Treasure Chest | Started by: Egwene on Feb 14, '11 23:07 |

“C’mon, come out with us, it’ll be a good time,” Sammy coaxed Egwene.
As much as Egwene detested acting the third wheel on Sammy and Rico’s date, she couldn’t bring herself to miss the grand opening of The Riverboat Treasure Chest. Riverboat gambling was one of the newest sensations to hit the cities along the Mississippi, and New Orleans was no exception. Aside from the entertainment value, Egwene had a vested interest in the success of the new business. She had arranged for the licensing agents to look the other way when some paperwork passed their desks. As a result, several of the blackjack dealers running tables on the casino floor were under RoRoG’s direct employ.
Egwene accepted Sammy’s invitation, and the trio traveled to the new casino in style. Upon arrival, she was surprised to see a poker hour located adjacent to the marina. It looked as though people of all gambling interests were now going to be able to have their fun in New Orleans.
Rico immediately ditched his two female companions in favor of the nearest blackjack table. Sammy and Eve decided to stick together and try their luck at the slots. The ladies gossiped for a time when Rico came running up excitedly.
“I won the jackpot!” he exclaimed before picking up Sammy and twirling her in the air. “And look,” He showed the ladies a flyer, “Looks like Ron Burgundy will be playing the Jazz Flute tonight in the casino lounge. What do you say? On me!” The three agreed, and made their way to the lounge.
Egwene was transfixed by the sweet, sweet music Mr. Burgundy played. Breathlessly, she leaned to Sammy during intermission and said, “That’s baby making music, that’s what it is”
After a lovely evening, Egwene could not remember when she had had more fun. She was proud of the casino, and sure her investment was going to pay off. Egwene felt confident enough to send an invitation to the families around the country.

Twisted walks down the street and hears the sweet sounds of jazz pouring into the streets, noticing the flashing lights from the casino she opens her purse and watches the moths fly out, reaching in she pulls out a handful of change and rushes in to find the nearest one armed bandit to try her luck.

The opening of this casino saddens me! New Orleans was once my safe haven where I had no fear of giving in to my terrible addiction! I shall have to confine myself to Philadelphia now!! Or maybe I'll just stay for a couple of hands... What's the worst that could happen? |

Premeir was often out of town or at least out of the office, conveniently, when the mail boy made his rounds. Today's mail was much the same as yesterdays, bills to pay. The light bill, the heat bill, bill to pay off the senator, bill to pay off the Chief of police. A few fliers from local businesses advertising for their LARGE Presidents day sale for this coming Monday, but then something caught Katie's eye. An invitation, one that was addressed from New Orleans. Katie opened it excitedly as she had heard rumors that the city down south had been working on opening up a casino.
