Casualty of war? Maybe. Started by: IllFated on Nov 08, '19 18:41

Ill's stomach was unsettled since the passing of his father JohnSmith. Mickey took him in and explained that his father was a casualty of war but IllFated did not believe that. The reason Ill had these thoughts was all the letters and stories he had heard from his father. Taking time out of his day Ill went to his office took a seat at his desk, opened a drawer than removed a stack of letters that were rubber banded together. Thumbing through the letters, looking at the dates he found the first one his father had sent. Taking it out of the stack he sat back, took the letter out of the envelope, opened it and began reading it to himself.

My Son IllFated,

Im writing you today to let you know I made the move to Seattle and by luck I immediately found work! Im employed by MickeyAnderson who happens to be a relative of good friend of my great great grandfather. Mickey has taken care of me since day one when we discovered our relatives were allies and has kept me busy since.

I told him all about you and he has promised to take care of you if you decide to follow in my foot steps and continue this line of work. Now comes the real reason I have written this letter. There is a fellow here who doesnt like me, in fact I think hes trying to kill me. Now Im not hallucinating, I dont care what drugs your mother says I did in the past. I have solid proof this man doesnt like me. What you ask is the proof? DeadInside has issued me a duel! Yes thats right DeadInside has it out for me and I cant promise you that he wont be after you as well. I want you to remember this if anything is to happen to me and you make your way to Seattle dont turn your back on that man!

You know I always told you dont go running your mouth to anyone especially the cops but I had a talk with Mickey about it and he ensured me it was a joke. That was the first and last time I ever mentioned it to anyone so keep this between you and me.

Keep your mouth shut and your nose clean your Pops,
JohnSmith

IllFated placed the letter back with the others than into his desk drawer. Hew walked out of his office, locked the door and began to walk around the headquarter uneasy ducking around corners thinking he could be living with the enemy.
