Pearly Dew Drops by Cocteau Twins is divine. I heard it on The Bear, and went down a bit of a rabbit hole on the Cocteau Twins - they're from Grangemouth in Scotland. I can't think of a similar place in America, but it's basically a chemical plant with houses on it. |

We call that New Jersey over in the States. I know it's totally cliche, but I have to go with "Stairway to Heaven" by Led Zeppelin. Not that I think it is some amazing song (although it kind of is), but because the topic is "works of art". Stairway follows a progression where it starts out very slow and gradually picks up tempo throughout the song, until at the end it's like a thunder and lightning storm, then back to the total calm at the end. It's a formula that literally hundreds of bands have followed since. |

Great gig in the sky A song with singing but without words. A timeless expression of every emotion a human can have. Without the complication of language.
