I wanna buy this game, I am trying settle a decision about who is a better team?

Do they have to be a playable character on the game to list them?

Because I think Sabertooth vs Morrigan would be pretty sweet, but I don't think Sabertooth is a playable option...

As long as they are in Marvel or Capcom they are able to battle in a war.
