Local celebrity newscaster Kent Brockman appears on the television, the title of the night’s news story showing under him in large letters:
“This just in – I’m pissed off. A well-known local, Mr. Homer Simpson, has reportedly found his niche in the city of Sin. World has spread across the underground that Homer it set to become the reigning Godfather of Paradise, Las Vegas. It’s amazing to imagine a man such as Homer making it big in the life of crime; after all, that nincompoop can hardly….” Marge flipped the television off, her sigh the only sound heard in the silent home. Lisa was at the library, Maggie was sleeping, and Bart was out in his treehouse doing who knows what. They hadn’t seen their father in months, not since he’d been dragged off to Las Vegas to work for some man named Mikhail. At first he’d call sometimes, thrilling the kids with stories of his adventures. She'd fret, telling her husband to be safe, to come home soon. She worried the children would be swayed by this fabulous life of crime their father was leaving. After all, Bart had been a budding criminal since birth. Marge grew angry at the thought of her husband living a rich life while she and the kids stayed behind. “Well dagnabbit. If that man is going to live out in Las Vegas, then so are we!" If there was one thing she knew Homer was always scared of, it was an angry Marge. A few days later the family sedan was packed to the brim and all three kids were squeezed into the back seat. Marge threw the car into gear and drove all the way to Las Vegas. Now, the drive wasn’t easy. Afterall, she had three children and two animals, not to mention a household full of belongings that the children insisted they just “had” to have with them. Lisa's saxophone, Bart's skateboard and a whole box just for Maggie's binkies. When the family finally arrived in Las Vegas, it didn’t take long to find Homer. After all, the whole city was celebrating his new ascension and there were celebrations all over the city. The children were wide eyes as they drive through the packed streets, fighting each other over who got the best view out the window. It seemed his time had arrived and the celebrations had started - Homer was a Godfather. Marge still wasn’t quite sure what that meant but she sure as hell had every intention of marching right up to him to find out. In the center of Paradise a stage had been erected in the middle of the street. Homer was on the stage, surrounded by a lot of big men and people were giving speeches praising his leadership. Her Homer, a leader?! Well, she'd always known there was something special about the man, that's why she'd married him. Marge and the kids stumbled out of the car and, Maggie in hand, she marched right up to the stage - well, as close as she could get before being surrounded. "Ma'm, you can't just go up there." "The hell I can't, that's my husband!" "DAD, DAD!" Bart and Lisa were screaming in excitement, jumping up and down to try and get Homer's attention. Bart noticed his mother's predicament and sprung into action, using his skateboard to weave in and out of bodyguards, hitting shins and causing their attention to turn as they begun to chase him down. Marge used that opportunity to slip onto the stage and suddenly the crowd went quiet as they watched one angry wife approach a stunner looking Homer. Some people had guns drawn, unsure if she was some sort of threat. Unbeknownst to them, she has her own little murderer right in her hands and Maggie's glare was enough to make them hesitate (or, you know that fact that she was a baby. Maggie preferred to think it was her glare). Suddenly, Marge realized all eyes were on her. Her husband was now a prominent man in Las Vegas and she couldn't bring herself to ruin the moment. So, after clearing her throat and giving Homer a look that said 'you're still in trouble', she turned to address the crowd. "My husband Homer is a great man. A little slow sometimes, but dedicated and committed when he sets his mind to something. Most of you don't know me because he's gone a long way to keep us safe from whatever it is he's doing here. I may not understand it much but I know enough to say that he must have worked very hard to have all these people turn out to support him." Lisa was standing on the stage now and she saw Bart being carried back to them under the arm of one of the largest men there. He was struggling, of course, but the sight made her smile. "Homie, we're all very proud of you and I know you'll only continue to do great things. It’s clear that you’ve earned this position and the respect of all these people who have shown up to help you celebrate. I’m a little surprised, to be honest, but we’ll worry about that later. For now well...someone get this man some beer!” The crowd erupted in cheers as the Duff Man burst onto the scene from seemingly no where. He handed Homer a can of beer as his helpers (all dressed as giant cans of beer) moved through the crowd. Marge was fairly certain alcohol was illegal but she shrugged it off and watched everyone celebrate the newest Godfather. |

Homer, made the venture out to Paradise, Las Vegas, what now seems like a distant memory ago. The migration was difficult, he left behind his beloved wife Marge, and three children, Lisa, Bart and Maggie, back in Springfield. In all honesty, life in Springfield was good for Homer. But alas, the temptation of Vegas was too much to resist. Leaving with best friend Lenny, they arrived in Vegas in dreams for a wilder life, that indeed they got. Homer started a new family in Las Vegas, they were a great bunch, life was good, although he hadn't found the new Marge in his life, he couldn't complain because, well there was no Flanders here. Some years later.. the momentous day. Homer Simpson was going to take the role of Godfather, aka The HomeFather of Paradise. It was long awaited but he finally reached this milestone in his adventurous life. Preparations had been made by his friends and colleagues, there was going to be a big celebration for his ascension to Godfather, an abundance of Duff Beer and Donuts were readily available for the good people of Vegas and all the guests who had flooded in to wish him well... Is it really a party without Duff and Donuts? mmm donuts.. Homer was called onto the stage by Godfather Chairman Mikhail, to make a quick speech. He wasn't a man of many words.. Walking up to the strage, the crowd went silent in anticipation of what the newly Godfather had to say. "D'oh" Just as he was going to begin talking, he noticed a familiar face pop up from the crowd "I wish God were alive to see this" The crowd looked baffled at that entry. "Ow shiiit.. Marge is that you" he yelled Stepping away from the mic, he embraced his family, having not seen them for years now. Wiping away a tear or two, he went back onto the mic to continue where he left off. "Comrades, this fine lady here next to me is my wife Marge, and my lovely daughters Lisa and Maggie, and Bart. Don't listen to the rumours Marge I haven't replaced you, but I am so happy to see you. I know I left you abruptly, but I had to do it for the greater good of our family, now I am rich and I don't have to ever work!" Looking back at his family standing there, he again wiped another tear from his cheeks. "Marge I am so happy you are here to celebrate my big day with me, it feels almost as romantic as our first big day hehe" Having not seen his beloved wife for over a decade now, he bought her next to him. "Marge, let me introduce you to some great people real quick, this here is the big boss Mikhail, he's a big scary russian guy, who thinks communism works, well it does in theory right?. Them two over there Declan and MariaReynolds, they're my great friends, helping me run things smoothly, or not so smoothly. That over there is Whoreable, she runs the Red Light District here, but she doesn't allow me to visit, rude I know! Oh, them over there the wild bunch drinking, they're our new family The Simpsons. And there's Lenny, you know him already. All the friends and family make their way to the stage to embrace and congratulate Homer on his achievement. He was eager to quickly head down to join the people in the festivities, but he had a few closing words to say. "On that note, I want to thank ,my comrade and boss Mikhail. I think he picked me for this role because of my motivational skills. Everyone says they have to work a lot harder when I’m around" After a quick pause, waiting for the crow to stop their laugher, he continues on "But, really none of this would have been possible without him and his support, I mean he's given me an unlimited amount of Duff and Donuts, and he's paying for it! So I'm really living the dream here. I love that guy!!" Looking at Mikhail, he nods in appreciation "Lastly, I want to thank my family The Simpsons, I knew leaving the fam back at Springfield was gonna be tough, but you guys have really won my affection and I see you as my very own, we have really embraced each other, much better than I had ever embraced that little rugrat Bart. Anyway, I hope you're as excited as I am, to be your HomeFather!"
"Also Marge, give me a kiss.. You're going back to Springfield!"
D'oh The HomeFather. |

Lenny was a man of few words, despite never saying anything he knew people laughed at him behind his back all the time. Too simple minded to think straight, too simple minded to do anything alone. The time had come for Homer Simpson to reach beyond his current status and claim an almighty title, a title that many in this life would never reach or even get close to. A woman with rather large blue hair Lenny recognised, but he was too dumb to remember the name but they seemed close to Homer. A lot of familiar faces piled around Homer to congratulate him for something and yet again, Lenny had completely forgot what for. Thinking it was better to say something rather than nothing, Lenny speaks above all those around. "Hey, way to go, Homer. Way to go!" |

Newly awake LiLi sat up blinking her eyes to regain some sort of focus. Feeling a bit confused she stood up looking around. What was going on, what had happened? It felt like the whole world was spinning. The slamming of empty duff beer cans on the floor made her jump. As she was looking around it started to become clear that she somehow had passed out in the HQ in a worn down sofa. The walk to the bathroom wasn’t an easy task. Stuff was laying everywhere, broken furniture, empty bottles and cans was scattered all over the place. Clearing the path to the bathroom without getting hurt she started splashing water in her face. Feeling a bit more awake the memories started to come back to her. The big stage in the center of Paradise, looking up at the newly appointed Godfather. Shaking hands with Homers wife Marge for the first time. The crazy ride back to the HQ, fearing for her life. Upon arriving everyone downed a can of Duffs beer and the party was on. The party had lasted for days and it wasn’t strange feeling a bit off. Walking back to the kitchen in order to get something to drink LiLi found a half empty whiskey. Feeling more optimistic about the evening she went back to the sofa, sat down and looked up on the big portrait of the newly appointed Homefather. She raised her glass. “Well done. May you continue making us proud.” Downing the drink LiLi slowly started packing some of the empty duff cans into trash bags, feeling optimistic about the future and the continuation of Paradise as a district. Great things lay ahead. |

James smiled and bowed his head. "Congratulations, 'Home'father Homer. I've heard nothing but good things from some of my family. My father's friends spoke highly of situations that could have turned south between he and yourself, but they were mended respectfully. So from the Black family of New York prior, since they can not be here to do so themselves, we wish you a long, healthy, prosperous lifetime. May it be filled with luxury and bliss. I truly wish you the best." Again, James bowed his head, then turned and vanished into the crowd. |
