The Commissar steps out of a car and onto a podium.  He starts to speak.

As some of you may know, despite the fact that I was a member of a Russian branch of an Italian American subculture, I am in fact Irish.  The transcript of this speech will be left on the traditional lamppost, written in green, and drenched in stout.  And it is also why I am wearing a green bowler hat.

tiggy and I have both had our controversies in the past.  But the past is in the past.  I, for one, have been humbled by the responsibility bestowed upon me, and look forward to repairing fractured relationships and forging new ones.

Some time ago, in Dublin, a very brave man noted that Life springs from death; and from the graves of patriot men and women spring living nations.  Now Detroit is no nation, and I am no Patrick Pearse, but the sentiment remains relevant.

We have suffered losses, and I understand that I am not alone in losing people close to me (RIP Destro), but I hope that we can put the past behind is and start over, afresh.

There are many in this world who would like to see me dead.  I am going to try to do what I can to reduce this lethal intent.  As Patrick Pearse said They think that they have purchased half of us and intimidated the other half. They think that they have foreseen everything, think that they have provided against everything; but, the fools, the fools, the fools! — They have left us our Fenian dead, and while Ireland holds these graves, Ireland unfree shall never be at peace.

Now, I am in no position to intimidate anyone.  And purchasing is, well, difficult, even with deep pockets.  

So what will it take for us to be free in DT?  

Partnership.  I want to reach out, darlin' reach out, reach you for you!  And if you reach out for me, DARRRLLLLINNN' REACH OUT.  And I'll be there to cherish and comfort you.  In whatever way we can.

All joking aside, I understand that this is difficult for a lot of people to understand.  But give a man a chance to fill the shoes that have been left at his door.
