Mead, Coin, and Black-Briars: Part II Started by: Gallus on Jan 03, '20 12:03

Drelin Near, a resident drinker of the fine mead that was made in Vegas by the Black-Briar meadery and now he was in heavy debt with the thieves working for Gallus. He owed the leader of the LA Thieves some favours or two and now was the recipient of his piercing glare. A single bottle of Black-Briar mead sat on the table between them.

"You've been busy these past few days Drelin, I always wondered where you got off to, only now I know where. You've been drinking away the woes in this meadery, not that it really concerns all that much but it must mean you pick up some useful things."

Drelin could tell that the master thief was not even trying to be subtle, Gallus had a way of getting what he wanted and right now that seemed to be information. He was already thanking the heavens for that, it meant that he could give that information away with such ease that it would not cause him a headache.

"I do, what information do you want this time Gallus? I've still got some of those coppers sniffing around me due to the last time I helped you. What was it again? A valuable artefact?"

The young man asked with such fear that he knew it was heard by the master thief, who simply drank a tankard of the mead. He could already see that this was one of those times that Gallus cared not for his own woes, he was here for something else.

"The robbery of Black-Briar Mead, I hear you know something about it and that interests me Drelin, I'd like to believe that you would have told me but now I know that is wrong. I'd like to adjust our friendship standards, tell me what you know and I can give you some nice coin to live a good few months. Maybe forever, if you invest it properly."

That look in the eyes of Drelin revealed that he was more than willing to give this away, whoever he heard this information from had to have been something worth it if he was willing to take a cash bribe for it. Usually, it was a few drinks courtesy of Gallus and he was looser than a french whore.

"Fine, Romanus Elitch. He's the one that robbed the booze truck, from there, he delivered it to the Grey. He's a big-time businessman out in Vegas, he's looking to move into LA territory and be the rival of Maven, he's setting the standard. Cutting off the supplies, he does not plan to give back the booze."

Now, this was something, he gave Drelin ten grand, making sure that it was rolled neatly into bills. Watching as the man picked it off the table with a thief-like quickness and in parts, he had to admire that. He could have made a good pickpocket if he kept his head straight and out of the fucking booze.

"So that is his game eh, he seems to play both sides and wishes to get something of a bigger cut. If we can get to this Romanus, we could easily find out the true identity of this Grey man, either way, this helps Drelin, anything else that you could offer. Maybe as to where I could find this Romanus, tell me and there is an extra ten grand in it for you."

The offer was there and he knew that Drelin would have taken it without another thought, only there was something in those eyes and he knew it from the many times that he had to save the man, There was fear, something that Gallus rarely saw in the drunkard.

"This man, he scares you. Not Romanus, the grey. Whoever our adversary is, it does seem like he has different plans in mind for all the parties involved. He just doesn't know I an involved yet, I would have you become one of the few who know of our involvement soon enough. Tell me Drelin and I offer you the protection that only my crew can."

He could easily see that Drelin wanted some kind of protection, something that he could use to hide from this man. Whoever he was, it seemed that he had the plans to remove the Black-Briar family from their rightful position in Las Vegas business and politics. Already, this seemed like a true game that Gallus thirsted to be involved with and now he was ready to be apart of that something.

"I found him at Luckies, on 7th. He was chatting all loud like and then some big bastard of a man came and told him to stop. Elitch stopped and the room went silent, I knew this guy Gallus, it was Tullius. The guy that works for the Imperalius Corporation. They plan to take down Maven and they have plenty of the backing to do so, this money scheme, it's to drain Maven, little by little."

Gallus hummed, he was showing that he was calm on the outside and inside. Tullius was the famous Grey, now he had the attention of his Guild, he would just need to make sure that people were aware of this now, plus the Imperaliius Corporation, the political party that ruled in Las Vegas, this was making sense.

Both Tullius and Maven wished to introduce two different ideas to City Hall, Maven wishing for a Meadery or Brewery in the case of many others that wished to put it that way and now Gallus had to make a choice. Both corporations would make him a lot of money but it all depended on who he truly believed would give him what he wanted, 'The Big One'.

"Smart, no one would ever expect the Imperalius Corporation, not even Mercer or Maven. He's planned for this and I have to be ready to take this truck, otherwise, I may find myself on the wrong side of history that will be made soon enough."

Drelin watched the leader of LA's resident thieves, he was someone that they all looked up to. He had plans, trying to unify all the thieves across all the cities and make sure that they could all work together for once. This was it, that chance and maybe this was that chance for Gallus to prove that to them.

"Anything else you need or should I begin making my way to the Rusty Lantern?"

Gallus shook his head, not even questioning the name of the place as he seemingly focused on what could only be the business of today.

He decided to keep himself occupied, watching as a few of his guys escorted the drunkard to his place of protection for a world.

This was it, he had found out who the man was, now it was the time to find out more about where he was keeping it, time to visit Luckies, it seemed.

"Well, look at what the winds have placed in front of me now. The man who wishes to unite the cutthroats and common thieves among us, I expect you wish for a room or perhaps a spot of Irish Whiskey? Whatever you want, you're going to have to pay, Gallus."

The common bartender knew his name and treated him with some disdain, then again, he didn't expect much else. He was here for some information, he slid some cash over to the man and gave him a pointed look.

The bartender looked inside the enveloped, keeping the cash in his back pocket. He leaned close, bringing up a glass and a bottle of the famous Black-Briar beer. Something that most, by most he had meant Gallus and his fellow thieves, wished to call Mead.

"Here you are, I was told by Niles that you would be stopping by, this is all we got on the warehouse and what we could do with it. Now I expect you to stand up and leave, unless your here for something else as well, to which I say, she's not here and has not been in a while."

Gallus nodded, Sapphire was hard to find sometimes and when she was not operating in Vegas or Angeles, she was supposedly scattered throughout the cities, she was something like the true thief, never showing up until you least expected her and right now, he would need her for this job.

"Well tell her I want to speak with her, it's important and I am willing to pay her for this type of job. I just want to get this done, see ya around Quinn."

Standing from his seat, Gallus walked out and knew that he needed this with something else. Deciding that he had the place mapped out, everything was going to work out and this was going to be the moment where everything came together, nothing was stopping this.

"Fuck sake, Sapphire, if I find you there at the place. Then we have some fucking discussions to have."

He whispered to himself, knowing that this was it, nothing else holding him back. It was time to declare of the Black-Briars and make sure they won this little war.
