i would recommend a desktop over a laptop any day just for one reason you can always update an desktop much easier than a laptop. A desktop is by far a lot easier to open and up than a laptop and therefore its much easier to keep up with the growing gaming world. A laptop is nice to watch movies and check emails and hell if you get a good enough one you can play games no problem but in a year and a half or two when the new games come out the laptop is now outdated and you either have to buy a new one or send it in for upgrades. With a desk top you can always buy new ram new hard drives new video cards new basically anything you could ever want you just buy the part and install.
