Thieves Have No Honour: Part III Started by: Gallus on Jan 10, '20 20:27

"Oi Gallus, when you told us that we would be having a meeting, I didn't expect her to be here!"

Confused, the master thief looked at his closest associates with what could only be a bit of amusement. He never called this meeting, he had just gotten some coffee from that Maid Cafe in Pasadena. He was trying to keep a low profile as he figured out the next moves against the Imperalius Corporation.

"I never called any sort of meeting, I have been busy and I've been sorting out a few other things. It's why I haven't been to HQ in a while, so come on, is this some sort of prank or birthday surprise?"

A smirk was on his lips as he leaned against the walls, noticing how they all seemed clear in the assumption that it was him. Though another look and it was clear he had nothing to do with this, something that had him chuckling at the looks on their faces. He would never do it through a courier, someone had to have called this meeting and it was not any of them.

"It was me."

A grave and old voice spoke from behind Gallus, turning around, they all came face to face with Indrus Tullius, the head of Imperalius. Though he seemed old and ready to leave this life behind them, why their enemy was here and in a populated cafe no less...something wasn't right.

"Well colour us surprised, why did you call this meeting mate?"

Brynjolf quickly took up the objective of talking to the man, the rest of them had sat down at their booth. Waiting to hear what the old man had to say, they all knew this was going to be a great story to hear. The head of their enemy organization was coming to them, this was something only heard in tales and rumours.

"I want a deal with you all, I know who you are and what this is about. Maven Black-Briar has you in her pocket, I have no disrespect for that. If I knew you guys were around I would have done something too, only here we are, on opposite ends of the business. I want to make this clear, what comes next, I have no business in, nor did I control."

That was ominous, out of the leaders sat at the table. Gallus was the one who had a calmness about him, he had long since suspected that old man Tullius had passed the torch of his empire. This was the work of a new man in charge, now he wondered who and what would be the gain for them. There would be reputation and there would be an end, this was it, the beginning of the end.

"What are you talking about Tullius? Make some sense out of this, you earned money from movies, medicines, overseas businesses and most recently, you went into the real estate business. Why would you go for the Black-Briar shipment?"

It seemed that Brynjolf had done his research, there was a respect for the man and here it was, they all had a common liking to the man. He had a certain way like them, he understood that this was the way. It was only business, though some things went beyond that and it was a hard time to prove different.

"He didn't Bryn, Tullius has passed the torch. It's why he is here, with a minimum guard by the door and one by the counter. He's come here under a peace bearing flag. He wishes to negotiate, something has him rattled and we, as honest citizens should help our fellow man."

Gallus finally spoke, staring down Tullius as the man looked back at him. There seemed to be some recognition in those cunning eyes of his, something that Gallus nodded at. Telling him with a single bob of his head that he was the one in control of this crew, though if Tullius was surprised, he never showed it.

Everyone else gathered at the table had settled down, though a few snickers had left Astrid who stood by Gallus, waiting for a moment before she checked herself. Feeling for her piece and sighing once she felt it, she never left without it and she had a feeling that she would be needing it soon.

"He's right. My son, Ulfric is now in control of the business. He never liked Maven and never liked the routes I went into, he's planning a massive hit soon. I won't tell you when but he's foolish and believes that the world owes him his birthright, Las Vegas. Anyone associated with Maven is to be shot on sight, no matter the person, this is how it works with his operation now."

Gallus took this in stride, those around him however, they clutched their own guns and were ready for a wave of enemies to pop out. It had been something that could have been prevented. Just because he followed a code, did not mean that they would be following the same one. Many of his own crew were the same, only a select few had followed his style of work and the master thief had long since accepted that.

Though, Ulfric Tullius. That was something he had never expected, he and his father had been rumoured to be at odds. Some people in their circles calling them rivals, even willing to go to blows. It seemed to be coming to a head, this was the end of an era now with people now calling for Ulfric to take his rightful spot and that he did, though his father's men had left his side.

Seeing a few of them here today, Gallus had to smirk. Sarah Rikke, the commander of Tullius' Mercenaries and head of training, she was a force to be reckoned with and had been hard to get some information on. Now that he thought about it more, she was someone that was neccesary for the Tullius Regime.

"Why are you telling us this? We have made it clear Tullius, we're not exactly friends, nor are we allies. Maven Black-Briar is the one that signs our paychecks and gives us some pretty good mead, what are we doing here, with you?"

Tullius smirked, snapping his fingers. One of his men came forward, placing a briefcase down on the table as all they could do was watch. This had to be interesting and it better be something that had them rubbing their jaws, cause this looked like something intriguing, though, they could have been wrong.

"In there is a document that has the details of a sale to Black-Briar industries, one Casino in Delaware. It is currently being constructed and I need this to be under a good company. I would trust my son but he has proven to be less than able, I am coming to you because I wish for one of you to assist with this."

First of all, Gallus had shared a glance with the rest of his fellow leaders. What was with Casinos and shit!? This was something that had him raising his eyebrows, that could not have been it, no. A Casino was something of a legitimate business unless they wished to move something through it, say drugs, guns, or booze. Still, it was something that was known, every business had some kind of racket going on and this could have been no different.

Tullius was a smart man, he and his son may just have been playing a game, though him leaving it all to him? That was something even he doubted, all these men, all these guys that owed him the business and had worked with him for ages. They respected him and would follow him, just like Astrid, Vex, and Sapphire followed him. They were loyal, willing, and ready to kill for this thing of theirs.

"No. You're not saying the whole truth, I'm going to blunt here Tullius, no fucking bullshit. This deal, what it holds, I have a feeling that it's going to cost Maven more than what you're willing to say. You and your son are playing some kind of war, and your people or the lower associates don't know about that. We know that much and I want to know just what kind of game you think your fucking playing?"

This was it, the life or well, beginning in truth. How things worked, you played one against the other, it seemed like these Tullius' were playing with one another and trying to cement their own rule within their own organization.

"What do you mean? A casino is a valuable business for Maven and I wish for her to be in on this final agreement, I want for the best and this is how I wish to do it. Got a problem with that?"

Hmm...turning an eye onto the others, he could see they were undecided and willing to let certain things go, though many of them wished to be away from this Tullius man. He was cunning, he wanted something from Maven and his son was not on this deal. That was clear.

"Astrid, go deliver this to Maven, make sure she reads it over, twice, three times, I don't give a fuck. Just makes sure she reads that thing over."

Astrid nodded, taking the briefcase and heading out of the cafe, though she never seemed to wish to leave and decided then to let this go, she knew that the others could protect Gallus. The one thing that held this group together for now, at the very least.

"So little trust Gallus?"

The master thief smirked, there was something in his eyes that was shared with Tullius and that was what made this showdown something fear, to truly behold and fear for a time, everyone in the cafe could sense the disturbance. Like a great war was being fought right before their eyes, the screams almost echoing in their ears and their eyes only seeing bullets shredding a path through bodies like it was paper.

"I trust very few people Tullius and you are not among them, gladly so. Do not ever think that you will be among that great circle of people who holds my trust, you have my respect, my trust, I repeat, is another matter entirely."
